B.S.U. Campus – Round 4: ‘Drama-RAMA!’

Florence passes Derek and Mary

The next few days in the house were strained and laced with tension. Florence took to sneaking around the house, only coming out when Shaniqua was at class. She put on a happy face and tried to act normally, but she was just as confused, if not moreso. She took no notice to the odd behaviors of her other roommates.

Derek and Mary kept accidentally bumping into one another. Derek would be reading the paper and Mary would get a book and sit down beside him, not realizing it until it was too late. They barely spoke a word to one another, though their eyes had lengthy conversations of their own.

Derek kisses Mary

Finally, it was too much to stand. Derek waited until everyone else was at class and then seized Mary by the waist and kissed her senseless. It was so wrong for so many reasons and yet right for so many more. If Mary was angry or upset, it didn’t show. She returned the kiss–her first kiss–without hesitation.

It wasn’t until the moment ended that she realized what she was doing. She pushed off Derek and avoided his eyes.

“W-we can’t do this,” she said, her voice trembling. “Katy. What about Katy? I’m sorry.”

She fled upstairs before he could reply and made sure to avoid him for the next few days.

Shaniqua comes out to Gina

One night, Shaniqua pulled her twin, Gina, aside and asked if they could talk. They went upstairs and sat on the floor. Gina relaxed while Shaniqua looked as if she was sitting on pins and needles.

“Gina, I need to tell you something, about Flor–”

Gina smiled, “I saw, Shaniqua. I was coming down for a drink and I saw. I figured you’d want to talk eventually, so I kept quiet and waited for you to be ready.”

“I’m not gay, Gina.”

“Sure you are,” Gina laughed. “You never dated a single boy, despite having them chasing you up and down highschool hallways! You teased, you flaunted, and you batted your eyes… but never once did you kiss one. I saw you in the kitchen, too, when you pulled away from that one guy. Where do you think he got the black eye? I told ‘em I’d pound him harder if he told anyone.”

Shaniqua frowned, “but I can’t be gay, can I? What about dad and Ryu and Derek? What will they say? And… what if–”

“Dad loves us and he’s never given you a reason to think otherwise, Shaniqua. You’re being ridiculous. We all love you–gay, straight, bi… green or purple! So be gay if you want to be, or be bi, or be straight… whatever. As long as it’s you being you and you’re happy, we’re all happy. And we’re all here for you–especially me.”

“Thanks… Gina, I mean…–”

“Shut up, won’t you? Go talk to Florence, not me.” Gina smiled, easing the harshness of her tone. “Well? Get moving.”

Shaniqua and Florence

Shaniqua wasted no time. She knew exactly where to find Florence. A new semester had begun and Florence was working diligently on her paper. She was distracted though, and had trouble focusing. The sound of the door opening behind her was a welcome break. She was surprised to see Shaniqua.

Even more surprising was that Shaniqua took her hands and pulled her closer.

“W-What are you doing?”

“I really like you, Florence. A lot.” Shaniqua admitted, though not bashfully. She was much too outgoing for that. “And I think you like me, too. And even if it’s weird… or whatever, I wanna see where it goes.”

Florence blinked, taken back. “I… I… don’t know what to say, I mean.” She swallowed and nodded. “I mean, okay. Yeah. Whatever happens, happens.”

Derek and Katy argue

Meanwhile, outside of Florence and Shaniqua’s room, not everyone was having a good time. Katy had cornered Derek in the living room, tired of his odd behavior. Ever since Mary had arrived, he’d acted weird, but even more so now. The past few days he hadn’t said a single word to her.

“Can’t you see I’m stressed enough as it is?” Derek shot back, his shoulders feeling burdened by an invisible weight. “It’s senior year! Scouts are everywhere, I need–”

“I’ve spent the past four years worrying about what you need, Derek. Now I need to worry about what I need… and that’s a commitment, from you.” She countered angrily. “I’m sick of being strung along! If you love me, then show it… and if you don’t, well… then just have the balls to tell me instead of acting like an ass!”

Derek storms off

“I have to go to class,” Derek ground out, turning on his heel and heading for the door. He barely gave Katy a passing glance. “We’ll… talk when I get back.”

Katy watched the door close behind him. She let out a long breath–air she’d been holding back throughout their entire argument. Her entire body shook and it felt as if the world itself was collapsing on her. That was her answer… right there. It didn’t even require words.

Mary confronts Katy

Mary had heard the sobs through the door when she’d come home from class. At first, she was hesitant to enter. The guilt forced her, though. It weighed down on her like a heavily and she couldn’t take it anymore. She walked in and saw Katy with her back facing her.

“Katy, are you okay?”

The tears stopped immediately as the voice of the last person she wanted to see right now echoed through her ears. She forced herself to respond, “go away, Mary.”

Hearing the hurt in her voice, Mary knew what she had to do. “Katy, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry… I have… I have to tell you something…”

Mary confesses to Katy

Reluctantly, Katy faced Mary. She had to admit, Mary looked rather pitiful–more so than she did. Her small face was screwed up with guilt and it was almost enough to make Katy feel bad for her treatment of her. Almost.

“What do you want, Mary?”

“Derek… it’s about Derek,” Mary sighed. She knew Derek would be angry, but she couldn’t go on like this any longer. “I… I kissed him. I’m sorry. This is all my fault.”

“So that’s what’s going on, is it?” Katy’s eyes narrowed. “How could you?”

Mary held back tears, “I’m so sorry! It never happened again–only once. And then… I ran off. I’m sorry, I’ll never go near him again. Just please, don’t blame him. It was… it was all me. It was my fault. He loves you.”

“I think it’s time for you to leave.”

Mary nodded silently and left the room. It felt like she’d just given up a piece of herself.

Katy confronts Derek

Unfortunately, Mary didn’t get a chance to run far. Derek chose that moment to return from class. Katy was on him immediately, her hand cracking hard across his face. To say he was surprised would have been an understatement. Mary had wanted to intervene and tell Katy to stop, but all she could do was stand by and watch in horror.

“How dare you!” Katy hissed, drawing back her hand. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Derek blinked, nursing his sore cheek with his hand. “What the hell are you talking about.” He looked at Mary and realization donned on him. “Mary… you didn’t…”

“I’m sorry, Derek.” She whimpered through her hands, unable to face him.

“Look at me, not her!” Katy demanded loudly. “You’re lucky she confessed, Derek. I’m willing to forgive you.”

Before Derek could reply, Katy grabbed him by the arm and dragged him along. He looked at Mary, still unable to fathom why she had ratted him out.

Florence says goodbye to Shaniqua

With Derek back with Katy and Mary keeping her distance, the rest of the year went along without a hitch. Finally, graduation time came. Derek and Katy left without ceremony. Florence, however, had a surprise for Shaniqua. Their little ‘we’ll see how things go’ had turned into a serious relationship. Florence wanted Shaniqua to move in with her when she graduated.

They parted ways amiably, with promises of visiting one another.

Note from Mao: Holy CRAP! All that drama was making my eyes bleed. Normally, this isn’t something I usually write. It’s fun to experiment! Seriously, though. This is still the Prosperity Challenge, I promise. I didn’t try and trick you into a Soap Opera. Sigh. And for those curious, Shaniqua has always leaned towards girls. Before I had a chance to have her gender like decided… she swooned over some townie chick while buying new clothes. She hadn’t even been a teen more than an hour. She swoons over boys, too, which should make this interesting…

Oh and I have no clue what happened to some of the pictures. I think it has to do with the fact I edited these at like, 3am. ‘Sleep’, you say? What’s that??

  1. Wow, um big update. Why did derrick get back with Katy? That’s what makes no sense here? He should have just told her to b***** off and gone with Mary. Also wow, Florence and Shaniqua, i did not see that one coming :) Just a bit of drama in here Mao lol. Poor you, you have to deal with this neighborhood.

Mao edit: For real. Can you believe that was only two ‘years’ at Uni? :P Mary is the heir to the O`Hanlon name and Derek will carry on the Saunders name. Three bolts or not, that relationship = doomed. Besides, Mary isn’t a home wrecker–she’s a nice girl! Derek and Katy keep fighting, though, and all Derek’s wants involve Mary, sigh. We’ll see how this goes. Poor me, indeed!

  2. Wow, just… wow. I mean, drama in every update, but this just wrecks them all. Sheesh i’m speechless! And believe me, that DOESN’T happen.

Mao edit: I know, imagine playing through it! Expect this next round to be… interesting.

  3. Holy cow-ola! That was an awesome update! I am in total shock of all the college drama! That was just as bad as my Fortune Shores kids…although the way you write it makes it so much more interesting! I was really hoping that Derek and Mary would end up together, even though I think Katy is really pretty. And the part about Shaniqua and Florence…just wow. I kind of got the “gay vibe” from Shaniqua, but I always thought Florence was just too busy with her home life and studies to worry about boys. Didn’t expect it from her. But they do make quite a cute couple! Awesome update, Mao!

Mao edit: Yeah, I usually have a drama-filled Sims 2 game, but I don’t normally chronicle it. This is a lot of fun, even if my sims are just insane. It’s like they thrive on the drama. I bet they have a hidden drama bar…

  4. Wow this was the worst one for drama yet and you’ve bearly started. At least every sim has there own unique way of causing drama lol

Mao edit: Hehe, quite. The little drama causing miscreants…
