No Inteen for AL

Filed under: Announcements — Mao @ 9:12 pm

If you haven’t heard already, there will be no AL version of InTeen. For more info, check TwoJeff’s site, Simbology. A direct link to the thread is here.

Seriously, guys. I have no idea what to do now. I have relied on this hack for my gameplay since, well, forever. I can’t remember when I didn’t use it. I think that was way, way back when I posted my first legacy. Wow. I don’t even care about teens, I never used that feature. It was the randomized pregnancy, the birth control, the fertility treatments, the infertility with age, etc. It was a magnificent hack. I will mourn its loss forever.

Worse yet, I can’t roll back from AL. I never should have installed it. Argh.  It truly isn’t that great.  Nowhere near the loss of Inteen.

I don’t want to end Boreal Springs, but I don’t know what to do. This is crippling, seriously. The hack was a centerpiece to my gameplay. How sad is that?

I need to think about this. Really think about it. I don’t even know how I’ll play the game now, lol. That sounds so melodramatic and retarded, but serious. I cannot stand default options. I haven’t seen “Try for Baby” in a LONG time and I never missed seeing it, either.

Sigh. That’s all I can say right now, sigh.

  1. perhaps use ACR instead? It has a lot of the same features. How is NaNoWriMo going?

I finished it the 18th. :) As for ACR, ehhh… it doesn’t have the fertility/birth control, does it? Plenty of Risky Woohoo hacks around, but none that offer risky birth control, LOL!

  2. It’ll be okay! Even though they don’t have the fertility, etc. there are still hacks to randomize pregnancy! (I’m just not at a computer, so I can’t find them.) I even think I remember hearing about a quick AL compatibility fix someone made somewhere (but don’t rely on that one, as I may be mistaken!)
Just try playing without it, just for a round or half a round, and maybe you’ll be surprised by how it hasn’t changed as much as you thought!
Even so, I hope you still have fun with the game, even if it’s not with this neighborhood.

Unfortunately, Blu, I did play a bit of AL. Quite a bit, actually, LOL! And I can’t stand not having InTeen. Note that the updates declined shortly after I installed AL. :) I’ll try and figure out something, but ugh. The loss will never be filled.

  3. I had the same problem. But I had not installed AL because I was waiting for Inteen. Its hard to think about playing with the functions that Inteen has given. Green and GoldenBuffy sent me the following site that has a program like inteen.

    Read all about it here:

You can download it at Pay Sites Must Be Destroyed.

Just a not I have not used it yet. But GoldenBuffy over at Riverdale has and she says it works fine.

Thanks, Monique, but as I said in my post… I could care less about actually having teen’s woohoo. I care more about the YA/Adult responses to inTeen…. since I’m REALLY not a big teen pregnancy advocate, LOL!

  4. I posted this to you on your comment on my blog too: I would totally check out ACR. It’s what I’ve always used, and never had a need for Inteen.

ACR has reduced fertility with age, risky woohoo which you can set per household (I have my neat sims slightly better at taking their birth control than my sloppy ones), and you can turn off all the romance stuff if you don’t want to use it.

Something ACR has that Inteen didn’t (I think) is the family planning stuff – your sims decide when they want to try for a baby or not, based on aspiration and the current number of children in the house.

The only thing Inteen did have that ACR doesn’t, I think, is miscarriage?

And it’s all adjustable per individual Sim. I adore ACR! You should give it a try at least, before you throw in the towel ;)

I know what you mean about not wanting to play default though. I couldn’t either.

Hmm, I guess I will have to bite the bullet and try ACR again. I tried it in the early days and hated it. That was awhile ago. I don’t really like the idea of my sims getting busy on couches, though, LOL! I am such a prude. Still, it’s better than nothing, right? Thanks. I’ll have to mess around with it a bit and see how it goes. I still really liked the miscarriage thing because it forced you to take care of your sims! Even if it was kinda sad.

  5. I think you should try finishing off Boreal Springs (as much as a love it, it’s got to end sometime right?) and if you find you can’t play without inteen, then you can re-install your game (if your not bothered about other characters) and not install AL cos you said yourself it wasn’t worth the loss of inteen and just use FT and that version of inteen.

Hope the suggestion helped, sorry for the long comment.

I’m way too attached to Boreal Springs to just ‘give up’, and I’ve spent so much time that I’m pretty much halfway, sigh. So I’m trying ACR as per some other recommendations. I really am not reinstalling all of Sims 2 again, LOL!

  6. I’m glad you decided to continue anyway (I’m so late; a slacker am I). I had both ACR and Inteen installed, so the only thing I’m really noticing a difference with is no miscarriage. To be honest, I don’t know how much I’ll miss that. My only sim to lose a baby that way was crying so much, I started crying with her. And for the record, they only woo-hoo on couches if certain requirements are filled. That’s only happened in my game once.

Haha, yeah, I couldn’t resist or give up when I’ve come so far! I really miss the randomness, but still having control over their woohooing habits. It seems all they do is flirt or do vacation gestures now, sigh.
