Saunders – Round 12: ‘Family Business, Pt. 3′

Aiyana decided that she really hadn’t seen anything on that computer after all. How could she possibly question Janine? She could never mention it to Henry or Damien. They’d never believe her. Aiyana wasn’t even sure if she believed it. Janine was so sweet and nice, there was no way she was a criminal mastermind! No, Aiyana had just glanced and caught some words and read it all wrong. It was her hormones… she was pregnant, after all!

Thankfully Damien was too caught up with the idea of being a father to notice any changes in Aiyana’s behavior.

Aiyana wasn’t the only one acting odd, however. Henry tiptoed upstairs late one night, after everyone had gone to bed, and booted up the computer. He typed quickly, his fingers moving deftly across the keys. His stomach churned and his heart clenched. He hit ‘Send’ and closed his eyes, pushing away from the desk and letting out a long sigh.

It was over, it was done, and there was no going back. There was nothing else he could do. There was no way Henry would die knowing what he knew and never saying a word. Not that he would die peacefully, no. But at least he could die knowing he’d done what he knew was right.

Death came for Henry Saunders not long after. Damien was devastated. He didn’t know that Henry’s last thought wasn’t of him, or his many children, or even of his grandchildren. No, it was of Janine. He could never live with what he’d done and now he wouldn’t have to. He just hoped that she would forgive him.

Henry missed the birth of River Saunders, the daughter of Aiyana and Damien. She wasn’t quite the heir they had hoped for, but they weren’t going to complain. They had enough trouble bringing her into the world as it was. She would have to do. Who says a girl can’t carry on a name, anyway?

She bore the trademark Saunders skin, and the blonde hair of her parents. Surprisingly, she inherited her mother’s eyes. Aiyana had named her, of course, insisting on something that ‘communed with nature’. Damien really didn’t care, and so River Saunders was the next generation of Saunders.

Janine didn’t have time to mourn the loss of Henry. She was too busy trying to help Damien and Aiyana learn how to be parents. They were both bookworms so it was difficult to teach them a nice balance. They wouldn’t be able to sit around reading all day–River needed their attention. Janine did have to hand it to Aiyana, she was trying. She was reading books and could understand what River wanted better than Janine could.

Unfortunately, Janine passed on not long after Henry, right as she was putting River down for her afternoon nap. Of course, Damien was distraught. Henry had been like his father and Janine had been like his mother. Now they were both gone. The house felt empty.

Janine died never knowing of Henry’s betrayal and the email he had sent just hours before his own passing.

Note from Mao: Janine and Henry are gone. This makes me sad! Yes, I copped out and gave the kid a hippie name, hehe. Has anyone figured out the ‘Study Parenting’ thing that came with Free Time? I had Aiyana do it and it said she could understand babies. Now she can check on River and River will have a thought bubble with her lowest need. Weird. Is that its only purpose?

  1. Geez…that’s basically almost all of the generation 1 adults, gone. xD It’s so sad. We’ve seen these people grow and evolve and now they’re dying. It is bittersweet…bitter, because they are awesome…sweet because…even in death, they cause so much drama xD

Even in death, the drama remains. Behold! The power of drama. ;)

  4. Woah – talk about drama. So Henry told on Janine. Interesting. Obviously Janine can’t exactly get caught, but what about Derek? And could it lead to Gordon or Thomas? (not that I care about Thomas ;D)

Also, I read that studying parenting only lets you see the baby’s lowest need. I don’t think that sounds very useful :\.

Gordon has everyone fooled–even the incredibly intelligent Tsung–that he’s you’re everyday goof. Thomas, well, we’ll see. Derek’s butt is also on the line. That sucks about the parenting thing. Boo!

  5. Aw, that’s so sad that almost all of the generation 1 adults are gone! :( Hmm, I’m curious about what Ryu’s going to do with the information Henry sent him — especially since it involves his wife’s parents!

Me too! Too bad it’ll take forever to get to their house again, lol.

  6. Awww, so sad to see Henry and Janine go. They were one of my favorite couples, mainly because I rooted for them to get together since day one! I can’t believe Henry told on Janine! Doesn’t he know that’s going to lead right to Derek?! Oh boy.

Ahhh, yes… Derek. Well, Henry couldn’t let it rest on his shoulders any longer. We’ll see if they can put the pieces together. Either way, Derek didn’t kill Katy, Janine did. But he did conspire! Sorta. We still don’t have the whole story.

  7. I love the new site. I’m finally caught up! I haven’t posted comments in a while cause I’m going on vacation and I’ve been busy helping my dad plan. Anyways, I got a chance to catch up last week. I like the name Aiyana chose. :) River’s cute, but of course all Sim babies look basically the same. She’s still cute.

Thanks! I’m glad you like it. I hope you have an awesome vacation. :D

  8. Well, the secret was gona coem out eventually. And I love the new skin xD

Haha, thanks! I wasn’t quite sure how I wanted it to happen, but Henry literally wanted to send an email.

  9. Oh wow. The Hit Hits the fan indeed. At least we know Henry wasn’t as clueless as Janine thought him to be. Although, their death makes me sad, its good to know he died having done the right thing.

It’ll be fun to see how this affects the rest of the houses. ;)

  10. River’s supposed to be a hippie name? I thought Chris was going with a Firefly theme or something. :D

Love the new look for the site. I can’t believe you’re on round 12 already. Wow, I really need to work on my prosperity…

That was actually my choice, Chris said the same thing as you did, LOL! I’ll usually mention in notes who named them. ;) Thanks! And you really need to.

  11. *Moment of silence for Janine and Henry* sniffle

So Henry knew all along! and reaches out from the grave to feed the drama! Obviously Ryu knows now but will Aiyana ever mention what she found so he can put 2 and 2 together?! I love the email, nice touch :)

That’s the only benefit I’ve found to “study parenting” and they still seem to feed them needless bottles even if hunger isn’t in their thought bubble. Grrr

I hate the baby harassment! It literally makes me want to start killing sims. Nothing makes me angry quicker! The email screen is actually a cap of Windows Mail. I was feeling lazy.
