Saunders 2 – Round 13: ‘Family Business, Pt. 4′

She enjoyed the sights and the feeling of being somewhere foreign that wasn’t full of sand and palm trees. Of course, this place was considerably more crowded. Everywhere she went, there was a horde of people. Even trying on kimonos was a task just because of the sheer volume of bodies blocking the way. Eventually she just gave up and went home, only to find Gordon had gone out on his own. He had done that a lot during the vacation…

Once again, whenever she inquired as to where he was going and what he was doing (though in a nice, not demanding manner), he found a way to distract her. She was convinced he was seeing his own sights, because the massage was spa-quality! She had been planning to have a spa day at the local place, but there was no reason to now. She completely forgot about what she had wanted to ask.

Gordon had his own reasoning for wanting to take a vacation. He had picked this locale for a specific reason. One night, when he was certain Tracey was sound asleep, he stole into the night. Visiting a local shrine, he followed the instructions that had been given to him. The shrine gave him a map to a distant location. It would take several hours on foot–which wasn’t a problem for Gordon, who spent his free-time jogging–so he set off immediately without another thought.

He arrived at sunrise, where the old man sat sipping on tea. After an introduction and a brief explanation, the old man began to explain where to find the one he sought. It was all a riddle, of course. That’s how people in this part did things. Gordon wasn’t about to argue it–nothing was worth risking this prize. If he wanted Thomas gone, there was no other way. He’d have to grin his way through it, much like he’d done throughout the rest of his life.

Vaguely, he had a notion that he should have invited Tsung. His family was originally from this area. Unfortunately, Tsung had married Lilith and Lilith had it out for Gordon. She was one of the few who didn’t fall prey to his charming ways.

Finally, he found the person for which he searched so desperately for. They met in a public place, but the man made sure to keep himself partially hidden behind a bush. It was a risky meeting, but there was nowhere else.

“You certainly have plenty of cash.” The man said with a grin, his skill with Gordon’s own tongue immaculate. “I see that’s not a problem.”

“So what is, then?”

“What you ask is troublesome. We don’t normally do it that way. It takes years–”

“Look, I’ve got three days. You want the money? Then you’ll agree.”

The man smiled, “ah, you’re quick! Maybe this will work after all. All right. I agree.”

Three days later, Gordon had his prize. He would return to Boreal Springs with a new goal, one that he would cement his hold on his mother’s empire and likely all of Thomas’ little bits, too. First, though, he’d have to explain why he was missing for three days. Charming his way out of that little nuance would be a true test of his skill, that much was for certain.

Note from Mao: Okay, the vacation thing happened because both Gordon and Tracey have had the want locked since they arrived at Boreal Springs. Also, Gordon rolled a want to go to the ‘Far East’. As soon as they got there, Gordon wanted to ‘Learn to Teleport’. So, I followed his whims and it worked out perfectly with the little story.

  1. Tomas should watch out. Gordon is definitley going to get rid of him.

Oh yes, definitely. Gordon is taking over, haha!

  2. OMG! Even though Gordon is evil I still love him. :)

Aww, he’s just going after what he wants. ;)

  3. Great update! Gordon is 10x more vicious than his mom! He’ll make a great Criminal Mastermind. I just feel bad for Tracey. But then again, she wasn’t exactly honest with him when they got married!

He’s also 10x more conniving and manipulative than Thomas! I wouldn’t feel bad for Tracey–he’s nothing but nice to her.

  4. Haha, I can’t wait for Gordon to overthrow Thomas. Interesting to see him get ‘taken out’

    It shall be interesting, indeed!

  5. OOh, I can’t wait to see what he is going to with this new ability… :)

No chillunz for Tracey and Gordon? ;)

Haha, as for the children, dunno. They get busy enough, but no pregnancy symptoms yet. I’m actually quite surprised!

  6. Aiyana isn’t one to keep her mouth shut. Can’t wait to see if Gordon gets away with it all.

She’s been doing a good job so far, but her and Tracey really seem to like discussing crime. ;)

  7. No massage is going to make Tracey forget to ask where her husband was for three days…will it? Sheesh, woman, focus!

The demise of Thomas, Oooo I’ve been waiting for this! Gordon is deliciously diabolical. *gets popcorn* :D

Hahaha, yeeeah, Tracey is easily distracted. Gordon is really good at distraction tactics, though. ;) It will be interesting to see how Thomas falls…
