Anderson – Round 27: ‘Fortress Around You’

It was hard to explain what happened next or even how it happened, only that Adora was there, as if she had never died at all.  Nevio and Simon were so happy to see her they both went in for a hug.  She recognized her father, giving him a shaky,  but confused hug.  Simon, however, she was apprehensive with.  She didn’t seem to remember him at all.

“She doesn’t even know who I am, how is that possible?” Simon demanded of Isolde, who was just as confused.

“There’s risks, that’s all I know.  Maybe memory loss is one of them, this has only been done once before.  It’s miracle she’s in one piece and functional human being,” Isolde explained, frowning.  “I’ll try talking to her, but we should just be glad she’s here at all.”

“I am, but… I’d like her to remember me.  It’s bad enough our marriage was nullified because of her death.”

Isolde found her sister in her bedroom, sitting on the bed.  She was obviously tired.  Isolde hated to stir things up, but she was genuinely curious now, and worried.  What else had she forgotten.

“You were married, Adora,” Isolde began slowly.  “Do you remember?”

“No,” Adora replied.  “But I remember Ocean.  Where is he?  I’m pregnant.”

“It’s not his, Adora.  It’s Simon’s, your husband.  You married Simon.”

Adora shook her head, “I don’t even know who that is!”

Ocean had heard through the grapevine that something had happened to Adora, so he came over to check it out.  Adora had picked Simon in the end, but that didn’t negate Ocean’s feelings for her.  Understandably, Simon was not happy to see him waiting for Adora.

“You need to leave,” Simon said angrily.  “Now.”

“I’m here to check on Adora and I’m not leaving until I’m sure she’s okay.  Not that a loser like you’d know anything about taking care of a lady.”

“Boys, let’s all be rational here,” Nevio interrupted.  “The important part is that Adora is okay.”

Simon eventually had to give up his guarding of the door to use the bathroom.  Adora chose that time to come out and was happy to see Ocean waiting for her.  She didn’t remember choosing Simon or meeting him at all, but she remembered her time spent with Ocean perfectly.  Nevio couldn’t complain, he was just happy she was alive.

“You never should have picked that creep, Adora,” Ocean said, giving her a hug.  “Look what’s happened to you.”

“Picked him?  I don’t remember that.  Why are there so many gaps?”

Ocean didn’t know she didn’t remember.  When she said that, an idea formed into his mind.  He smiled, hugging her tighter.

“It’s all right, you’ll be fine now.”

Simon was stuck sleeping in the spare bedroom.  He wasn’t particularly happy about it, but he didn’t want to disturb Adora anymore than she was, especially since she was pregnant.  Her memory loss made no sense.  Why would she forget him?  She remembered everyone else, even Ocean, but everything regarding him had been wiped from her mind entirely.

It was truly heartbreaking.

Adora eventually gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Eric.  He’d probably never know he survived death before he even left the womb.  It was probably better that way.

Seeing Eric made Simon’s pain even more pronounced.  They had a son, but to Adora, it really didn’t mean that much anymore.  He knew she’d been talking to Ocean.  He was worried that there wouldn’t be a chance to reconcile this, that this was the way it would be.  He didn’t want to let Ocean win, but what could he do?

Note from Mao: Poor Simon!  Adora really doesn’t remember him, but she remembers everything about Ocean and even spins up wants for him.

Sigh.  Adora’s death was completely accidental.  She had many close calls.  I thought she was in the clear and suddenly, she dropped dead.

This house seriously is cursed.  She had a terrible pregnancy.  I was shouting at the screen so loudly my husband thought something was wrong.  Isolde was the only one there when she dropped over and I really didn’t want to cheat.  Then I remembered they had a lamp and phew, problem solved.  Definitely made for an interesting twist/storyline, LOL!

  1. OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!! OMG, poor Simon! Just OMG! I’m speechless, lol! That family is definitely cursed! And shame on Ocean for taking advantage of the situation!

  2. I felt so bad, but the alternative (letting her dead) pretty much eliminated the original/main Anderson line completely. Which was not going to happen! Now this house is all filled with drama… and here I thought Adora would be normal, lol.

  4. OMG. Drama in the Anderson household? No surprise here, but wow. When Adora died, at first I thought, is this the end for the Anderson line? Thank goodness for the lamp!

But poor Simon. :( Fingers crossed Adora will begin to remember him again…

  5. Yikes! This family is definitely cursed!! Poor Simon. I hope he can win Adora over again and get Ocean out of the picture for good!

  6. Haha, indeed!

  7. Haha, yes, more drama! It seems that curse has spread to poor Adora. :(

  8. I was so shocked! I’m really curious as to what’s going to happen now…

  10. I can’t even try to deny the Soap Opera undertones anymore. My sims are intent on propagating it.

  11. Holy crap, your pregnant women need protective bubbles!!! I was so devastated when I saw she was on fire, but then when she was okay…whew…only to die again! Insane! Adora is one of the prettiest sims I think I’ve ever seen…don’t know why but I love her face, so I’m REALLY glad she’s safe. Though poor poor Simon!!!

    Comment by Shannon — October 29, 2009 @ 4:18 pm

  12. oh WOW! You really do have the worst luck with the original Anderson house… was it the MATY sickness hack at work again or was it the fact her needs were so low from the fire? If it was the first I’d be so tempted to uninstall it! Eric’s a cutie though. I hope Adora works out what’s going on soon… I thought I liked Ocean, but not anymore!

  13. Nevio, Laci was a gold digger. And a witch. Poor Adora and Simon! Even though I was rooting for Ocean, she did love Simon. *sigh*

Don’t worry about your husband thinking something is wrong. I’ve talked to my sims and my computer and at this point my boyfriend just sighs and walks away.

    Comment by Victoria — October 29, 2009 @ 7:25 pm

  14. Nooooooooooo! Darnit! I remember worrying in an earlier update that “the curse” was hereditary, but I thought Adora was in the clear. And then she keels over. Sadness, then I see lamp! Hooray! And then all this hoopla. I was hoping maybe Eric’s birth would help the way it cured my family’s depression (something about those babies), but nothing? Really? Sigh. I don’t like the way this is turning out. We were all rooting for Simon. The other guy isn’t supposed to win. :(

  15. You get the most exciting things to happen in your game. If I don’t make drama none happens.

Poor Simon, I hope Adora gets her memory back or Simon is able to win her over.

  16. Can it get any worse! Good gracious!

    Comment by starrsim — October 29, 2009 @ 9:57 pm

  17. Oh, wow, cursed is right!

When I came to the bottom of the first page, I thought maybe Adora was going to come back as a zombie. That might be the only thing that would be worse than this – imagine your wife being a zombie AND not remembering you. Poor Simon. I hope he can somehow get rid of that Ocean sleazebag!

    Comment by Carla — October 29, 2009 @ 10:55 pm

  18. Oh man. Poor Simon. And I even felt bad for poor Nevio. A parent should never have to lose his child. Thank goodness Isolde was able to help them.

    Comment by Lisa — October 30, 2009 @ 8:42 am

  19. LOL, they really do, especially in this house! I seriously thought everything was fine and then BAM! At least the game keeps me surprised. :)

    Comment by Mao — October 30, 2009 @ 8:45 am

  20. I was in such a panic. I can’t have one of my original lines just disappear! Her needs were low from the fire, but because she was also pregnant, her energy and hunger kept bottoming out. I was afraid she was going to miscarry, not die. Yikes!

    Comment by Mao — October 30, 2009 @ 8:46 am

  21. Oh, she definitely was, haha. My husband is used to me yelling at my PC, but I rarely swear… and well, the swear words were flying, LOL! So he knew something was up. xD

    Comment by Mao — October 30, 2009 @ 8:46 am

  22. I know! You jinxed me, Fini, LOL! Isolde to the rescue, kind of. ;) Eric sure hasn’t cured it, but I was disappointed because he didn’t have any CC. :P I feel so bad for poor Simon, he’s so distraught.

    Comment by Mao — October 30, 2009 @ 8:47 am

  23. LOL, this was not anything I was anticipating, that’s for sure.

    Comment by Mao — October 30, 2009 @ 8:48 am

  24. I know! My sims decided to shake things up…

    Comment by Mao — October 30, 2009 @ 8:48 am

  25. Oh man, I have a serious problem with zombies! So I try not to make them. They freak me out, sims or otherwise.

    Comment by Mao — October 30, 2009 @ 8:48 am

  26. Simon and Nevio were definitely beside themselves, although now the old guy is fine. Go figure.
