Davis – Round 27: ‘Run This Town’

Fou-Lu Yu and Elena Davis are at the end of their adult lives.  The big transition will change little for them, still happily unmarried.  Emily Davis isn’t a little girl anymore and is quickly figuring out what she wants from life.

Now that Emma is back from college and living in Aperture, she visits often.  Thankfully, the visits aren’t nearly as strained as they had once been.  Elena and Fou-Lu were barred from giving her any help, but she was allowed to visit.  It was difficult, to not slip her some money, but the repercussions from Gordon would be severe.  Emma never asked for help, she toughed it out, happy to just see her family.

Emily was always quiet during her older sister’s visits.  They’d never been terribly close.

Emily shared her mother’s love for dance, but in a more casual way.  She wasn’t sure if she wanted a career in it, in fact, she wasn’t sure she wanted a career in anything.  She wasn’t so jaded to think life was easy and the streets were paved with gold; she was just aware that she had an opportunity most didn’t–she could decide what she wanted to do.  She was going to take her time and figure it out, find something she truly loved.

“As long as it isn’t a life of crime,” was Elena’s only opinion on the matter.  She always worried that her girls would get the wrong impression from their grandfather.  “And it involves college.”

Emily sighed, “not everything has to involve college.”

“Well, it should.  Good girls go to college… even Emma managed to make it through college!”

Fou-Lu took his chance quickly, “there’s plenty of time to figure it out.”

“Oh, no.  Not a word from you–look how long it took you!  Don’t be like your father, Emily.  It only makes life ten times more difficult, you need to have goals and ambitions.”

Fou-Lu made a face, “I had goals!”

“Your only goal was to wake up every morning.  You still don’t have goals.”

“I have a job, though.  A great one!”

“Because of your family connections.  You lucked out, fell into it.”

Emily rolled her eyes, “will you two stop?  I’m not going to waste time, I’ll figure it out… just give me a chance, okay?  Sheesh.”

Fou-Lu continued to mutter, “…at least my family doesn’t involve some crazy vampire crime boss…”

Elena and Fou-Lu’s birthdays snuck up on them before they realized it.  They’d gone through a lot together and despite being so different, had managed to make it work in the end.  Sure, they bickered sometimes and even argued, but it was just part of the deal.  When you’re so different, you’re bound to run into conflict; the entire point was that they got through it and loved one another despite it.

Emily had to be careful not to fall into her older sister’s footsteps.  Being who she was, she fell easily into the ‘elite’ group of teens in high school.  Despite living in Aperture, she attended the same academy, so her circle of friends consisted of Alexander and Charity Saunders.  Emily and Charity didn’t always see eye-to-eye, but Alexander was the mediator between the two.  To Emily, Charity was just too wild and to Charity, Emily was just a big old prude.

They would gather at Emily’s house sometimes, when it was convenient, usually on weekends.  It was located downtown and surrounded by all sorts of fun things.  All their families had money, so it isn’t like they had to worry about not being able to pay or make their way around.

The elite group consisted of five teens…

Deidre O`Hanlon, of course, was their leader.  It was her exotic looks and ridiculous charisma that had drawn so much attention and popularity.  Being the daughter of a famous actor and director sure didn’t hurt, either.  Never far behind Deidre was Dominic Knight.  The opposite of Deidre’s outgoing and charismatic nature, Dominic preferred brooding stares to actual conversation.  It was a front, of course.  Dominic was as friendly as the next, but he just preferred to leave all the senseless talking to Deidre.

His sister, Nadia, was excluded from the group given her childhood rivalry with Deidre.  Deidre had been willing to let things pass, but Nadia had gone a step too far when she insinuated that Deidre’s eyes were contacts.  That was the last straw.

Charity and Alexander Saunders, unlike Dominic and Nadia Knight, are inseperable.  When you see one, you can be sure the other is not far behind.  It’s a miracle they manage to use the gender restricted bathrooms without going into shock.  While not as brutal as their older sister, they still have a bit of a mean streak to them.  It’s usually a good idea to stay on their good side.  Alexander effectively ‘blocks’ any male that might try to take Charity up on one of her lewd offers.

Emily Davis, compared to the rest, seems unremarkable.  She knows that’s not true and she’s quite content letting them take the spotlight.  She’s the one behind the scenes, directing the events and moving the players around on the stage.  She’s the nicest one in the bunch and usually tries her best to keep the peace.  She still talks to Nadia Knight and while friends with everyone in the group, is closest to Alexander.

There’s plenty of rumors, but Emily laughs them off.  They’re not closely related and any relation they may have would have started out as halved, but still… Alexander is a friend.  Nothing more, nothing less.  Whether or Alexander agrees, however, is a very good postulation…

——————–

Note from Mao: Nothing exciting at the Davis house, unfortunately.  Emily is a Family sim so she’s obsessed with her first kiss, but there aren’t any compatible male teens out there for her yet, sigh.  She’ll have to wait!  She’s part of the it-group because she befriended Alexander.  These guys make a scary little group.  I wouldn’t want to go to high school with them.  ;)

It would be so easy to hook Alexander and Emily up.  Of course, it’s weird because Michael and Elena consider themselves siblings even though they’re not.  They’d guarantee me some CC genetics and nice face structures.  Unfortunately, unless the sims press the issue, I won’t.  The Elena/Michael thing would be enough for Michael to throw a fit and Elena to be disgusted, LOL.  If they did press it, it’d make for a hilariously gross storyline.

And now, a funny outtake picture.  Dominic starts talking about aliens and Deidre just has this look on her face, LOL!  I think she’s tired of hearing it, poor girl.  She’s smart, but everyone only knows her for her “exotic looks”.

Davis – Round 26: ‘What I Am’

Note from Mao: I forgot to pull Emily’s child picture from SimPE before she aged to teen… so, um, she’ll be on the family picture next time!

Fou-Lu and Elena needed to get out of the house, so they met up with Michael and Sade downtown.  It took a lot of convincing to get Michael to come, he wasn’t one for groups, hanging out, or going downtown.  Still, Elena missed her brother and managed to wheedle him into coming.  Sade was just happy to show off her Awesome Tan to an even wider audience.

Of course, their first stop was the pool table.  It was still light out, even if it wouldn’t be in an hour, and it just felt wrong to hit the bar so early.  They split up into teams, girls VS boys.  Of course, Fou-Lu did enough smack-talking to make up for Michael’s quiet nature, but Sade was perhaps the worst.

“Come on, Elena, it’s your turn!”

“I wouldn’t keep her waiting,” Michael advised sagely.  “She’s… very competitive.”

Elena sighed, “I’ve noticed.”

“What kind of shot was that, babe?  Were you aiming for the wall?” Fou-Lu remarked, watching as the cue ball nearly rocketed a solid off the table.

Elena let out a disgruntled sigh, “maybe I was aiming for you.”

“If you were, you missed big time.  I’m over here.”

Sade looked away from Michael and saw the shot, “what was that?!  This game was ours!”

Thanks to Elena’s poor shot, the guys won.  Fou-Lu’s idea of a victory shake, however, was quite different from Michael’s.  While he’d never admit it openly, he did take a step back after Michael stopped reeling from the joy buzzer, his face twisted in anger.

“All in good fun, man!” Fou-Lu said, laughing.

Michael wasn’t nearly as jovial, “don’t do that again.”

“Not a problem…”

They were only at the bar for an hour before it got ridiculously crowded.  Sade was happy to share her tan with everyone, but some people were getting a little too close for comfort.  Some guy in a ridiculous jacket had taken to following her around, much to Michael’s chagrin.

“Let’s go get something to eat,” Sade said to Elena over the loud music.  “I’m tired of this creep following me around.”

“You’re the one who had to get that awesome tan,” Elena said, chuckling.

Michael made his way over, giving his sister a look, “food sounds like a good idea.”

They stopped at a diner on the outskirts of the city on their way home.  It was quaint, but you could tell it was starting to get late, as the revelers and drunks were slowly filtering in through the doors.  Fou-Lu took this quiet opportunity to ask about their vacation.

“So, has your tan really helped you with friends?”

“Sure, why wouldn’t it?  Everyone wants to know that girl with the awesome tan!”

Michael sighed, “isn’t it about time for it to fade?”

Elena laughed, “you wish, Michael.”

Emily Davis was the opposite of her sister, Emma.  She was polite, mild-mannered, and ignored.  At least, that’s the way she felt.  She was an amazing pianist, her skill surpassed even that of her father and sister, yet she constantly felt like she was stuck in Emma’s ever-looming shadow.  She got accolades for her talents and perfect report cards, but it didn’t seem to be enough.  Emma was always present in the conversations, her name mentioned several times daily.

Emily loved her sister, but she was beginning to dislike her troublesome ways.  She just seemed intent on keeping all attention focused entirely on her.

It was no surprise, then, that when Emma visited, Emily made herself scarce.  Elena and Fou-Lu sat her down, intent to have a talk with her.  Elena had spoken to Gordon and was quite well-informed of her daughter’s misdeeds.  She was hardly pleased.

“We’re proud you’re keeping up with your scholarships,” Elena began.  “But we’re worried about your social life.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Emma said, feigning ignorance.

“This business with Gregory and Lydia.  We know what you did, Emma.  How could you?”

Emma rolled her eyes, “I’m a big girl now, I can make my own decisions.  Why does everyone have to have a hand in my business or what I do?”

Elena was quickly enraged, “do you think this is come kind of joke, Emma?  These are people, not playthings!  You can’t just push and manipulate everyone to do what you want them to do.  You can’t just take something because you want it.  That’s not how the world works.”

“It’s not like I killed anyone,” Emma retorted, though her excuse was a poor one and she knew it.  “I don’t get what the big deal is!  Everyone knows they’re a terrible couple.  I’ve been friends with him just as long as she has.”

“The difference being that he chose Lydia, not you.  He loves her and you, being his friend who supposedly cares about him, you should support him.  Love isn’t a selfish thing, Emma.  You don’t hurt the people you love!”

Emma snorted derisively, “oh, right, because you guys were such a stellar example of that.  Way to be a hypocrite, mom.”

Elena had enough, she stood up and gave her daughter a terrible look, “you’re a terrible, spoiled little girl who needs to grow up and show some respect.  You weren’t raised to be like this.”

Elena stormed off, leaving Fou-Lu and Emma alone.  Emily was there, but she played the piano quietly in the background, lost in the music.  She wasn’t paying attention at all.  It was just more ‘Emma drama’, after all, nothing new.

“You know you shouldn’t talk to your mother like that, Em.  I agree with her.  I just, I don’t get it.  You were always such a sweet girl, what happened?” Fou-Lu sighed.  “Maybe it is our fault, confusing you with the on again, off again… but even so, if you know we’re a bad example, why follow it?”

“I just can’t get any privacy.  Why does everyone have to be in my business?”

“Because your business involves a prevalent family, Em.  If you think Roman Anderson is going to let you anywhere near his son, you’re mistaken.  Especially after all of this.” He put his hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.  “Gregory isn’t the type to love two people and I think its pretty obvious what he wants.  I think it’s been obvious all along.  Sometimes, you can’t always have what you want.”

Emma stood up, clearly learning nothing from the exchange, “whatever.  I’m going back.  This was obviously a waste of time.”

Emily made friends, but it was difficult to keep them, especially when they lived all the way in Boreal Springs.  Her favorite friend was Megan Alioto.  They got along famously and Megan’s mother, Valerie, would even bring her downtown for visits.  They weren’t sure why her mother always seemed to be going downtown, but they weren’t about to question it.  It gave them a chance to hang out and play together.

Emily’s birthday snuck up on everyone and before she knew it, she was a young lady.  She definitely took a lot from her Saunders side, favoring her mother’s side of the family considerably.  She still had her father’s eyes, though.  She was still a sweet girl who was determined to have her own family someday.  She certainly didn’t want to cause her parents as much trouble as Emma had.

—————————

Note from Mao: Holy crap, Emily turned out amazing!  I’m still kind of shocked.  It’s hilarious what several generations of breeding will get you.  I didn’t start out with any default templates when I made my founding sims, they were all edited and tweaked.  So it’s definitely cool to see it carry through generations.

Sade and Michael autonomously stopped by the apartment, so I had them all go out for an adult outing.  Fou-Lu is a day from becoming an elder and Elena is getting close, too.  So they needed one last adult hurrah.

Emma, also, is a little brat.  She came over to see her parents and argued with them the ENTIRE TIME.  None of that was staged.  Any attempt made by Fou-Lu or Elena to speak to her resulted in negative reactions and Elena actually did get quite mad with her, lol.

Some outtake shots.  This one is from the diner.  Why is Countess Emily Saunders chatting up some random downtownie about potty training Selene?  Also, I just realized I have two Emily’s.  Oops.  I’ll just call one Countess and one not, lol.

Sade’s Awesome Tan isn’t just useful to her, but her friends, as well.  This cracked me up.

Davis – Round 25: ‘Leaving the Nest’

Fou-Lu Yu and Elena Davis have had a rocky relationship, but things are finally starting to even out for them.  Emma is heading off to college soon and little Emily is growing more everyday.

“You’ll love college,” Fou-Lu said to his daughter before leaving for the weekend.  He wouldn’t be around to see her off, so he was squeezing in some ‘fatherly advice’ while he could.  “Just remember, though, college boys are bad.  I should know, I was one.”

“Isn’t that why mum dumped you?  Didn’t she get pregnant before graduation?”

“And that’s exactly why you should avoid boys at all costs!”

Emma shook her head, “you don’t have to worry, dad.  I’m only interested in one boy and he’s the polar opposite of you.”

“Good girl.”

“Do you regret having me so young” Emma asked her mother at breakfast.  She was starting to get nervous.  Most of her things were packed already.

Elena thought about it for a moment, “not now, I mean, I still wonder what would have happened… but you were and are still my priority.  I wouldn’t have gone back and changed anything.”

“What about not telling dad and breaking up with him?”

“That’s complicated, Emma.  Relationships aren’t just black and white.  They’re complicated, they hurt, and a lot of times, you’d probably be better off without them,” Elena stared across the table at her daughter.  “I love your father, but that doesn’t mean our relationship was always the best at particular times.  Pushing and forcing things to fit doesn’t work.”

Emma tried not to notice that her mother had turned it around on her.  She finished up her pancakes and accepted her mother’s explanation for what it was, nothing more, nothing less.

With Emma gone, the house seemed strangely empty.  Even little Emily noticed the loss, preferring to sneak into Emma’s old room and sleep.  At first, Six wasn’t too happy about her bed being occupied, but she got over it.  Emily was company.  Six definitely missed Emma.

Everyone adjusted, though, and the days settled into a routinue.  Elena kept up her career and Fou-Lu spent time with Emily.  Of course, his true goal was to get Emily to say ‘dad’ before ‘mom’.  Elena just shook her head and made a face when he boasted that she’d totally do it.

She wondered how Emma was doing at school and hoped she wasn’t doing anything she’d regret.

Emily grew into an active child who loved jumping on the bed.  Elena would scold her, but Fou-Lu would usually encourage it or jump with her, much to Elena’s chagrin.  Emily definitely resembled her Saunders heritedge, looking very little like her parents and more like her grandpa Gordon and his sons.

The apartment was big, but clearly not big enough.  Emily found out that the restroom being connected to her parent’s bedroom was quite inconvenient.  She had several awkward exits, that’s for sure.  Thankfully, her parents were nonethewiser.  That was just one talk she really didn’t want to have, yet.

———————————–

Note from Mao: Emily looks SO MUCH like a Saunders it isn’t even funny.  I see no Yu there.  None.  Wow.  Also, Emma is at college now.  Also, sorry that this update was so disjointed.  I was trying to play through multiple crashes/etc.  I’ve also increased the picture size.

Saunders 2 – Round 25: ‘Carpe Diem, Baby, End’

Gordon Saunders is still mourning the loss of his late wife, Lauren Saunders.  Claude and Emily still haven’t completely tied the knot, but seem to be heading in that direction.

Claude wasn’t sure why his father was so moody these days.  As far as Claude was concerned, being immortal was awesome.  Sure, he missed his mom, but he knew she had enjoyed her life and she was happy to have experienced death.  It didn’t help any that Tsung recently passed, too.  Gordon and Tsung had been close for a long while.

Despite seeing his father’s long face, Claude wasn’t sure he would ever be sad about not dying.  Not aging and constantly looking hot was pretty awesome to him.

Of course, marrying someone equally as immortal and hot was quite a bonus, too.  Claude never really saw himself as the marriage type, but to Emily?  Well, sure.  She was the second part to his equation.  They just seemed to fit so nicely together, like two puzzle pieces.  It was only suitable that they spontaneously decided to make it official at the graveyard where Lauren was buried.

Claude was too busy with his new wife to notice that his father had been cornered by one of the locals.  They didn’t come to Boreal Springs often.  Valerie Alioto had just been walking by on a chance for a late-night walk when she saw Gordon.  At least, she thought it might be Gordon.  She only had other people’s descriptions of him to match, but when she approached him, she was certain.

He was a bit scarier than she anticipated.  Then again, he was also a vampire.  She stuck it out, though, and made her intention of joining his criminal empire obvious.

“You could definitely use someone like me,” Valerie began, confident.  “I’m smart, savvy, and I don’t mind getting my hands dirty.”

Gordon wasn’t really sure what to say.  He wasn’t really in the right mindset to be thinking about this now.  He gave her the address and told her to come by and they’d talk.

Of course, if Valerie did come over, she’d be faced with three scary vampires.  Gordon assumed she’d be frightened off and go get some normal job.  Didn’t she have a child to worry about, anyway?  Meanwhile, Claude never considered consequences.  He thought of the now and right now, he’d never see a downside to being a vampire!

Of course, someone forgot to tell him that vampires still get pregnant.  Claude was a little shocked, but eventually warmed up to the idea.  Babies couldn’t be that bad, right?  He was completely oblivious to the fact that he already had two children to Kit Knight, which had resulted in the anullment of her marriage to James Anderson.

Gordon, upon hearing about the impending baby, decided that they needed someone who could be up during the day.  He’d been working hard in his little lab and finally, had come up with a solution.  A robot.  He was a little hesitant when it came time to activate it, but closed his eyes and pressed the sequence of buttons, listening as it rumbled to life.  It stood before him, the very picture of a subserviant being imbued with his own personality.  It was a bit strange to get used to.

Emily wasn’t sure how she felt about a robot caring for her child.  Sure, he was a great house servant, but could he really give a baby the tender loving care it needed and deserved?  Gordon assured her that the baby would be in safe hands with Jeeves, but Emily wasn’t so sure.  She trusted Gordon’s intellect, but no so much the robotic thing hovering over her, communicating in a mechanical monotone.

Much to Gordon’s surprise, Valerie came over later in the week.  She was determined to join his criminal underground, though unprepared to enter the actual lair of a bunch of vampires.  Emily played the piano, as she often did in the night, lost in the rapture of the notes.  It was full-disclosure in this house, Gordon didn’t need to hide his comings and goings from these two.  Even so, they were advised not to listen and mind their own business.  Emily did just that.  She didn’t hear Gordon give Valerie a task to test her mettle.

Selene Saunders was born not much later, looking very much like her father and grandfather.

—————————————-

Note from Mao: Valerie seriously did just walk by while Gordon, Claude, and Emily were at the graveyard!  I was quite shocked.  So she’s friends with Gordon, but I’m a little worried.  I don’t think she anticipated her future employer to be so… well, dreamy.

Hold fast, Valerie!  Remember, you have a boyfriend and a daughter at home!

Davis – Round 24: ‘Emma’s Way’

Fou-Lu Yu and Elena Davis have been together, on and off, for what seems like a lifetime.  They were perfectly happy with their daughter, Emma, but Elena had a surprise pregnancy and now Emily has joined them.  Will they all be able to adjust to the changes?

Elena had been dubious about another baby, she worked enough as it was, would she miss seeing this one, too?  She had been there for practically all of Emma’s firsts.  It almost seemed wrong to deny little Emily that right, too.  Still, Elena had been “alone” then.  Her parents had helped.  Fou-Lu was here now and he had every right to seeing the things he missed with Emma.

Babies were a new concept for Fou-Lu.  He vaguely remembered Zhou as a baby and he’d completely missed Emma’s early years.  Babies weren’t nearly as fun to interact with as toddlers or children, though, and he could certainly do without the dirty diapers.

Emma wasn’t nearly as accepting as her parents had hoped.  She stayed in her room often, citing that she needed “time alone”.  She didn’t necessarily dislike her younger sister, but her mind was preoccupied.  Gregory Anderson had gone to college and she was left here.  She had been convinced she had a chance, but if he was alone with Lydia?  That chance was dying with every passing day.  Emma still couldn’t wrap her mind around why Gregory was so adamantly going after a girl who didn’t seem to want him.  Sure, they had been friends forever, but she was poor and Gregory had things to accomplish.  Lydia couldn’t help with that, she wasn’t charming and cultured like Emma.

Elena and Fou-Lu tried to spend time with Emma, to show her that it wasn’t all about the new baby.  It was then that she revealed the baby wasn’t the reason for her being so sullen.  She told them to just leave her alone.  When she got up and went upstairs, Fou-Lu looked at Elena.

“When did she become a teenager?”

Elena cringed as she heard Emma’s door slam, “I don’t know.”

“I feel old,” Fou-Lu sighed.

“Me, too…”

Emma made a new friend, Daisy Saunders.  She was nice and smart, too.  Daisy had a twin, Sage, who was really popular but Emma didn’t really know her all that well.  From what she’d heard, she hung out with Jennifer Knight and Rosa Anderson.  Rosa was Lydia’s sister.  That was enough to make Emma stay away.

With her parents working a lot, Emma often got stuck babysitting her rapidly growing sister.  Emily was getting big, fast.  Emma was almost sad that she’d be leaving for college soon, probably not long after Emily was a child.  She’d miss really getting to bond with her sister.  Maybe having a sibling wasn’t so bad after all.  It was just too bad Elena couldn’t have had her earlier!

—————————

Note from Mao: It seems strange to me that Elena and Fou-Lu will be elders soon.  That just seems wrong.  LOL!  Another generation in, another generation out.  Emma is a strange girl.  I’m interested what trouble she’ll cause next round in Uni.  She’s younger than Lydia and Gregory.

Also, a sidenote, I have a new blog Ocean’s 10.  I know, I know, another blog?  But it’s an easy one–it’s a VERY simple legacy type challenge where everyone uses the same founder.  Check it out for more info.  It won’t take away from BS.  I have too much free time right now, I’m already on round 25!

Knight 2 – Round 23: ‘Addicted to Love, Pt. 6′

Kit Knight and James Anderson have had an odd sort of on-again, off-again relationship.  James may be the right guy for her, but Kit just can’t get over Claude Saunders.

James and Kit have moved into the same complex as the O`Hanlon and Davis family.  Kit and Patrick are distant relatives whiles James and Fou-Lu also share some blood ties.  Of course, as soon they move in, James makes it clear that he’s not an idiot and he’s very much aware of what Kit’s been doing while he was in college.  He pleads with her to stop what she’s doing and be faithful to their relationship.  Kit takes it all in stride.  She cares about James, she knows she needs to cool down and stop acting a fool, but love is blind and she can’t help herself.  She is in love with Claude, as stupid and senseless as it is.

So when Claude calls her late one night while James is sleeping, Kit immediately agrees to meet him.  They meet at a platonic place and Kit is startled.  He’s sitting alone, but it looks as if he’s been there since the sun set.  She joins him.  He looks at her out of the corner of his eye.

“I’m glad you came, Kit.  I care about you and I didn’t want to do this over the phone, you know?”

Kit’s chest tightens, she looks at him and then past him.  It’s obvious what’s going on.

“I’m a guy with a lot of love, but unfortunately, I have to give you up.  You need to be with James and, well, I need to–”

“…be with Emily,” Kit finishes, seeing the pale vampiress standing there, completely complacent, completely cool.  There would be no scene, no cat fight.  Kit was sure she could take the old biddy, but Emily was composed.

“I’m glad you understand!” Claude smiled, finally facing her.  It wasn’t an easy thing to do, he and Kit had been attached a long time.  He cared about her a lot, but he was in love with Emily.  She was his match, his perfect fit.  James was Kit’s.  He wished she’d realize that.  “It’s for the best, Kit, really.”

Of course it was, but that didn’t mean Kit felt like jumping up and down for joy.  She enjoyed her last night with Claude and left him to run off with Emily.  It was over.  She felt empty.

James, however, was quite overjoyed when it seemed Kit turned a new leaf.  She agreed to a complete commitment and even accepted his offer of engagement.  James wasn’t an idiot, though, he didn’t ask her before he was sure that Claude freakin’ Saunders was out of the picture.  He’d heard through the grapevine that Claude had been seen with a very lovely, old-world classy type vampire lady.  Kit was old news and now, officially, James’.  Hopefully she would see that they were right for one another and finally accept his love and return it.

Unfortunately, James couldn’t completely enjoy his victory.  News of his father’s death reached him via his mother and he found himself feeling guilty.  She was all alone now and while she assured him she was all right, he insisted that she come and stay.  He knew Katarina and Kit did not get along  at all, but Katarina was his mother.  He wouldn’t let her live her last days alone.  Their fight was a silly one, anyway.  Whatever happened with Kit’s family was her parents fault and didn’t involve Kit or maybe James had just grown up with infidelity so long he didn’t see it as a big, horrible thing.

Maybe that’s why he was still in love with Kit, despite all her transgressions.

————————–

Note from Mao: I know this update doesn’t seem like a lot, but it is, trust me.  Kit… is pregnant.  I know she is.  There are three possible fathers.  Yes, THREE!  Why do I know this?  Because she’s she’s woohoo’d with both James and Claude in the span of a day, AND, during her date with Claude, she went on the dance sphere.  OH HAHA, SILLY ME, I had forgotten about her teenage abduction.  ARGH!

Here you can see Claude and I BOTH wondering WTF Kit went.  ARGH!  COME BACK KIT, NO ALIEN BABIES FOR YOU!  Also, note the peeing memories.  From when she was HELD CAPTIVE at her former apartment building.  Yargh.

Poor Kit, she really is/was/whatever in love with Claude.  This was her want panel before the date.  Note the MARRY CLAUDE want.  So, now she has baby daddy drama.  I refuse to spoil it and find out WHO the father is.  To recap, it’s either JAMES, CLAUDE, or AN ALIEN.  This is some straight up Springer crap right here.

B.S.U. Campus – ‘Carpe Diem, Baby, Pt. 1′

Claude Saunders and Kit Knight have been at University two years now and have developed a sort of ‘understanding.’  Now joined by Marcus and Shelly Yu, they’re forced to be a bit more discrete.  Worse yet, James Yu has also come trailing along, his sights set on Kit.

James didn’t waste any time tracking down Kit.  He found her eating some burned grilled cheese–she had never been much of a culinary master, despite her mother’s skill.  He took a seat next to her and immediately launched into his anti-Claude propaganda.

“What are you doing with Claude, Kit?”

She gave him a look, “does everyone know about it?  Stupid Sade and her big mouth…”

“Forget Sade,” James interrupted, “Claude Saunders, Kit?  You’re smarter than that.”

“So what?  What’s it matter to you, James?  If you think insulting me is going to win me over, you’re wrong.”

Shelly and Marcus arrived sometime later, also greeted by the burnt grilled cheese sandwiches.  It had been a long drive and they were both hungry, so they didn’t complain.  Shelly wasn’t really sure what she was going to do now that she was University.  She knew she wanted to make lots of money, but now the how or the why.  She kind of missed her rivalry with Isolde and maybe Cole, too.

Marcus was just thankful to be away from their grieving mother.  Grief wasn’t really his thing.  He missed his father, true, but he was a guy, and guys really aren’t into tears.

Claude, meanwhile, found himself catching up with an all-too-familiar face.  The strange woman from the bar turned out to be an exotic blonde who was suddenly in his age range.  He wasn’t entirely sure how that worked, she didn’t look a day older than when they had first met years prior.  She contacted him suddenly, and he hadn’t bothered to ask how she got his number.  She was hot, what else mattered?

The funny accent certainly helped, too.

Kit, however, wasn’t nearly as impressed with the supposed ‘Countess’.  While the thing between her and Claude wasn’t serious, she refused to believe his involvement with this mysterious blonde was a good idea.  Common sense wasn’t exactly Claude’s forte and he missed the obvious signs.  As the Countess slunk away, Kit glared at her and then leveled her gaze on Claude.

“Geeze, Kit, don’t be so jealous,” was all he could manage.

“Don’t be such an idiot, Claude!” She roared, wanting to hit him, but restraining herself.  “There’s something wrong with her.  Can’t see it?”

“Not from here,” he said, watching her leave a little too closely.

Kit sighed.

At least she had some repose with James.  He was younger, yes, but it was so nice to have someone around that seemed to be from the same planet as she was.  He had always been intelligent, perhaps even more so than she, but his age had always been a deterrent.  Not to mention that Kit really never paid much attention to boys in school, either.  She left that mostly to Sade.  Now free of her best friend’s nattering, she found herself falling under James’ sway.  It was just as well, as Claude was overly preoccupied with his crazy blonde.

Claude didn’t think there was anything off about Emily.  Sure, she was pale, she had a funny accent, and she only came around in the dark… but everyone had their quirks, right?  Maybe he was just desensitized because of his father.  Of course, Claude knew exactly what his father was… maybe that’s why he had such a hard time realizing what Emily was.  It didn’t matter.  He liked her a lot more than he liked all the other girls he’d found.  She seemed to feel the same and so all was well in Claude’s mind.

It didn’t take long for Kit to educate James to the way of college.  She liked him enough, sure, but she wasn’t completely serious.  He was, of course, but Kit couldn’t have known that or maybe she wouldn’t have been as aggressive.  She simply thought they were friends with a mutual arrangement.  Kit wasn’t entirely sure why she wasn’t really into commitment, only that she wasn’t.  Poor James.

Claude got the awakening of his life late one night while he was on the balcony with Emily.  It had been like every other visit, they talked, spent time together, and went outside a lot.  This time, however, she led him purpousfully to the balcony.  When she was sure they were alone, she began to act strangely.  Claude couldn’t really remember much of what happened next, only that he woke up a few days later feeling really funny and Emily was gone.  He tried contacting her several times to no avail.  It was almost as if she had completely disappeared.

It was close to graduation and while Claude tried to hide the changes he now recongnized as vampirism, he couldn’t hide from Kit.  She snuck into the unused upstairs bedroom to find a coffin.  Her suspicions were confirmed.  She drug James up there, much to his chagrin.

“What is this supposed to prove, Kit?”

“Claude’s been turned into a vampire, obviously,” she said, as if James had been suddenly struck dumb.  “That idiot, I told him not to mess with that blonde weirdo…”

James sighed, “Why do you care, Kit?  It isn’t your problem anymore.  You’re graduating soon.  Come on, let’s go downstairs.”

When the time came to leave University, Kit would leave alone.  She planned to leave in the afternoon the next day, while Claude made separate arrangements.  He really didn’t look forward to the phone call, but knew he didn’t have a choice.

“I’m fine dad, really.  I don’t see why you’re so worried, it’s just University… what’s the worst that could happen?  No, I’m sure.  Nothing’s wrong.  I just have some things to do.  I’ll see you in the morning.  Tell mom not to worry.  Okay, yeah, I know.  Bye.  See you then.”

Claude was not looking forward to his homecoming, but he had no idea what else to do.  Only his father would know anything about what he’d become and even if he had to face his wrath, it’d be better than going through it blind and ignorant.

Note from Mao: Shelly and Marcus will have a bigger part in the next round of Uni, no worries.  As for Claude and Kit and James… ugh.  Three bolt love triangle.  HOW?  I do not know, so don’t ask.  Claude is obsessed with Emily, though, much to Gordon’s chagrin.  It’s the reason he’s a danged vampire.  Revenge plot or stupid luck?  We’ll see.  Sorry it’s taken me so long to update… holidays, sickness, work… you get the picture.
