Yu – Round 21: ‘Still Waiting, Pt. 1′

Tsung and Lilith Yu continue to be happily married, but are beginning to worry about the prospects of their son and new daughter-in-law’s future children.  With not even a hint of a possibility on the horizon, they are beginning to worry that Fou-Lu’s illegitimate daughter, Emma Davis, will be the only blood tie they have left.

Secure in their careers, Zhou and River head off for a belated honeymoon to the islands.  It’s mostly so they can spend some time together, away from work, but also to get away from the nagging stares of Zhou’s parents.  If he’d known being the heir would be filled with this much pressure, he would have given it over to Fou-Lu readily.

While it was meant to be a romantic getaway, Zhou couldn’t help himself and indulged his prankster side.  Unfortunately, it resulted in River getting a nasty burn on her hand.  After seeking medical attention and finding out it wasn’t nearly as bad as they thought, they resumed their vacation.  River made sure to stay far away from any fountains, however.

All was quickly forgiven and forgotten once they found the wrecked, old pirate ship on the coast.  River had to admit, playing captain was quite fun.  It fulfilled her inner-need to dominate.  She gave a hearty laugh and inhaled deeply only to nearly choke on the salty air.

During their little pirate adventure, they happened upon a ghost of the former captain.  Zhou was beginning to think he’d never escape his mother’s penchant for the paranormal.  He mused that perhaps they should have brought them along after all.  River just thought it was a joke and played along.  Ignorance is bliss, as they say…

While they were away on their trip, Chairman Mao gave birth to four kittens named Gaius, Gaeta, Six, and Apollo.  The addition of the kittens certainly kept Tsung and Lilith busy.  They were also trying to find them homes, as there was no way their house could possibly contain them all once they were fully grown.

When she wasn’t cleaning up after the kittens, Lilith was trying her best to lecture her wayward son, Fou-Lu.  She had hoped that he would settle down after University, but was quite surprised to find he had done the opposite.  His girlfriend at that time, Elena, had ended up pregnant and now he was a father.  It was a difficult situation.  Lilith insisted that he find a way for Elena to take him back so he could do the right thing and take care of them, but Fou-Lu knew better.  Elena was far too independent and stubborn for that.

Fou-Lu didn’t just come to listen to his mother’s lecture, he also came to pick up a cat.  He ended up taking Six back with him.  He wasn’t quite sure how Michael would react, or Sade, for that matter… but he wanted to help his parents out and he also really liked cats.  His original intent was to give Six to Emma, but that would have to wait.

Note from Mao: River and Zhou are driving me insane.  Still no babies.  ARGH!  Bad sims!  ACR makes it worse because their chance to try for a baby is only like 30%.  Buh. Fou-Lu visited all by himself and bonded quickly with Six, so I let him take her.

Saunders 3 – Round 20: ‘You Turn the Screws, Pt. 5′

Michael Saunders is happy to be out of University, but is a little unsure about dealing with Fou-Lu and Elena’s messy situation.

Michael found an apartment quickly in Aperture.  It wasn’t hard, it seemed as if they were going up all over the place.  Fou-Lu came with him.  He felt bad about the whole thing between him and Elena and he knew that Fou-Lu deserved to know the truth, even if he was a bit immature.  So Michael took it upon himself to make things right.

Elena had called him not too long after they moved in and said she was willing to come over.

Michael passed the news onto Fou-Lu, warning him against any of his silliness.  Fou-Lu simply laughed him off, wondering what Michael was talking about.

“I’m only telling you because I don’t want you to die of shock,” Michael began, his voice taciturn, “Elena left because she was pregnant.  You have a daughter, Fou-Lu.”

Fou-Lu’s only reaction was uproarious laughter.  When he finally finished, the look he gave Michael bordered on ridiculous.  He obviously thought this was all a big joke, “very funny, Michael.  She couldn’t keep that a secret for years!”

“And yet she did,” Michael replied, not sharing in his friend’s amusement, “She’ll be over soon.  Compose yourself.  If you mess this up, I’m kicking you out.”

Just as Michael expected, Elena arrived an hour or so later with little Emma in her arms.  Michael had already seen his niece several times and so wasn’t surprised by how much she had grown.  He made sure to warn Elena, though.

“This is going to be a shock, so don’t be surprised if he doesn’t react well.”

Elena sighed, “I don’t even know why I’m doing this.”

“Because it’s the right thing to do.  Come in, you can’t delay the inevitable any longer…”

Fou-Lu wasn’t nearly as shocked as Elena had anticipated, leading her to believe that her brother may have betrayed her confidences.  She let it slide and instead introduced Fou-Lu to Emma.  The resemblance was remarkable, there was no denying she was his daughter.  Elena was a little upset that little Emma didn’t seem to look anything at all like her, except for her thick hair.

Instead of being angry or upset, Fou-Lu took Emma and began to play with her.  He joked around and was casual, it put Elena at ease.  She was sure he would demand to know where they stood.  Instead, he focused on Emma.  Visits would become a common occurence.  Michael had been right, Emma needed to know her father, even if he was a child himself.

As if dealing with that situation wasn’t enough, Michael was surprised to answer his door one afternoon only to find Patrick O`Hanlon outside.  He said little to Michael before shoudlering his way in, forcing Michael to close the door and follow him, apprehension written on his face.  Patrick and Michael had always been friends… but tense ones.  Sade was a major factor in this.

“Michael, you’ve got to help me,” Patrick said, his voice low and conspiratorial.  “Sade is driving me crazy! She’s flaking out on University and staying at my place and now I’ve got a guest, and well, I need her to get lost.  She’s my sister and all, but she’s driving me insane!”

Was Patrick kidding?  Michael hoped his surprise didn’t show on his face.  He certainly didn’t want Sade here, not for all the money in the world.  That was dangerous.

“I really don’t think that’s a good idea–”

“Why not?” Patrick interrupted, clapping him on the arm, “I’ve always trusted you, Michael.  You’re the only one who can do this for me.  You and Fou-Lu can keep an eye on her while I regain my sanity.  Come on, how can you turn me down?”

He was right, how could he?  With a heavy sigh, Michael relented.

It took a weekend for Sade to pop up.  Michael had returned from running some errands to find the house empty–Fou-Lu had been spending a lot of time with Elena and Emma lately.  He walked into his room only to find Sade.  It was hard not to notice that she definitely wasn’t a teenager and while she was still a little younger than him, the gap was a lot smaller now.  She smiled, as if she was completely oblivious to the fact she was missing most of her clothes.  What had happened to him and what was she doing?

“Sade, what are you doing?” He demanded, looking past her and out the window.

She laughed and patted the bed, “Patrick told me to come here.  So I made myself comfortable!”

Michael said nothing.  He simply turned around and exited the room.  Sade watched him go, frowning.  Well, that obviously didn’t work.

Sade continued to drop in uninvited, but kept her clothes on for the most part.  Michael avoided her as often as he could, which wasn’t hard.  His job had him traveling a lot.  He spent a lot of time going to Universities and lecturing on physics and aiding with certain research.  It was pretty much nerd work, but he made quite a bit at it, which was how he could afford housing two other people who didn’t pay a single bit of rent.

He would have to call Patrick and let him know that this wasn’t going to work out.  He’d have to take care of Sade himself.  Did Patrick truly have no idea what he had done by putting her here?

———————

Note from Mao: Oh my GOD, ACR has made my sims go crazy.  Sade on the bed?  ACR DID IT, LOL!  ACR has decreed that Michael and Sade are each one’s One True Sim… which equals hilarity and awkwardness.  Fortunately, Michael is a more shy person and so it’s usually Sade chasing him around and trying to flirt/etc.  Oh geeze.  ACR has made my sims into horny teenagers, LOL.  Don’t even ask me what happened when Elena and Fou-Lu were left alone in the apartment…

Yu – Round 20: ‘Crushcrushcrush, End’

Tsung and Lilith Yu have been happily married for many years, now they welcome their eldest son Zhou and his love, River, into their home.

Zhou and River were married in an intimate ceremony held in their backyard near the pond and trees that Sun-Tzu had ordered many years before.  Family and friends were in attendance and the day was clear with not a cloud nor a even the slightest hint of rain.

A childhood crush and a troublesome courtship had ended in happy nupituals.

River was understandably nervous, she had never really seen herself as the “marrying type”, especially not with Zhou, but what they had was beyond denial.  Why should she deny happiness, even if it was a little odd?  Being around Tsung and Lilith had shown her that such odd couples truly can work.

They were oblivious to the dissension amongst the wedding guests.  In bringing together family and friends, they brought tension.  But they were too busy being newlyweds to pay attention.

Elena and Fou-Lu weren’t officially ‘back together’, but it was hard to say otherwise with the way they acted after the wedding.  Elena was living back home until she got onto her feet while Fou-Lu and the other men were looking into apartments that were being built in Aperture.

Zhou took the time to advise his brother to tread softly, so not to scare Elena away.  He knew his brother wasn’t the most reliable and steady of men, but he knew how much he loved Elena.  He just hoped Fou-Lu could pull his act together long enough to become a respectable adult.  Responsibility had never been something the younger sibling wore very well.

The newlyweds weren’t the only ones in love, Tsung and Lilith were still very much aware of one another.  They enjoyed their quiet years as elders and looked forward to the possibility of grandchildren.  Her advancing age hadn’t stopped Lilith from pursuing her paranormal interests and Tsung hadn’t yet retired, either.  He was in charge of the apartment and town house plans.

Lilith was pleased to have an apprentice to pass on all her knowledge to.  Isolde Anderson had come to her sheepish, but adamant and so Lilith took her in.  It would take awhile for Isolde to truly grasp the very nature of what she believed in, but Lilith was sure she would reach the same level as she, if not even higher.

She just hoped the girl was prepared for the ridicule and everything that came with being such an ‘odd’ character.

Note from Mao: Zhou and River are finally married, yay.  And Inteen needs to hurry up, I need Apartments for my recently graduated young adults!

B.S.U. Campus – Round 19: ‘You Turn the Screws, Pt. 3′

Patrick O`Hanlon is womanizing his way through University while Michael Saunders hits the books and keeps to himself. Elena Davis and Fou-Lu are no longer an item, but Elena is still uncertain about her decisions and Fou-Lu is hoping she reconsiders.

Patrick decided to call Elena out on her dealings with Shang Yu, “what are you thinking? I know you’ve got some semblance of a brain up there… you’re one of the few girls I know who does.”

“Gee, thanks, Patrick,” Elena replied, rolling her eyes. “And what’s it matter to you?”

“Shang and I are cut of the same cloth, Elena. Anything you two do isn’t special or serious or anything. He’s got Kat for that, he just wants you for, well, the obvious.”

“You think I don’t know that? I don’t want anything serious with him,” Elena replied, giving her nephew a pointed look. “Anyway, here’s a question for you… I’m almost afraid to ask. Are you wearing pants?”

He grinned, “what do you think?”

“Ew…”

Fou-Lu decided to try and corner Michael into helping him get Elena back. Unfortunately, the stoic and quiet half-sibling was a little less than willing.

“Elena is a big girl, she makes her own decisions.” Michael said, barely looking up from his dinner. “Besides, I’m not so sure you’re ready to get her back.”

“Huh? What’s that supposed to mean?” Fou-Lu was a little shocked by Michael’s outright bluntness.

Michael looked up, startling Fou-Lu, “you’re immature, Fou-Lu. Grow up a little and I’m sure Elena will notice. I’m only telling you this in an effort to steer you in the right direction.”

“That’s harsh, dude,” Fou-Lu replied, wounded. “Real harsh…”

Meanwhile, Michael wasn’t having much luck with dating. There was a pretty blonde girl at the house one day that Michael thought was okay looking, but he spoke to her only to find out she was one of Patrick’s many… well, ‘visitors’. He sighed and walked away. How Patrick did it, he’d never know. Michael just didn’t feel any great attraction or attachment to these women.

He kept comparing them to someone else.

Patrick was naturally smart, in fact, he was downright intelligent. But it never showed, because he used his smarts for evil and manipulation. He didn’t have to try with his grades, all his professors were female. He just smooth talked his way into an A+ everytime. He could have easily done it the proper way, but it was so much more satisfying knowing that he had enough power to influence his way to straight A’s.

Elena, knowing his fondness for red heads, set Michael up with a girl from her class. They had plenty in common and she wasn’t awful looking, but Michael just didn’t feel that spark. She had red hair, sure, but she wasn’t, well. And it just wasn’t the same.

The date went well, but afterwards, Michael felt nothing.

Meanwhile, Elena had given a lot of thought about what Patrick had said. It was silly to mess around with Shang Yu in an effort to ignore her problems. She was glad when Fou-Lu happened to be in the hot tub. She joined him and decided they needed to talk about their situation.

Fou-Lu clearly wanted Elena back and while Elena was undecided, she couldn’t deny they had a solid history.

Unfortunately, they didn’t get much of a chance to talk. Add together a hot tub, bathing suits, and two young adults and well, you don’t usually get a heartfelt conversation…

Patrick, meanwhile, was doing some ‘conversing’ of his own with quite as few of the available co-eds. They were at the last of their classes and ready to graduate, so he wanted to score with as many chicks as he could before he left. It was a personal goal he set for himself. He wouldn’t have enough time once he was signed to an agency and working on his acting skills.

Not that he hadn’t been improving those with every line and charm he’d done in the past four years.

————————-

Note from Mao: This one is all over the place, sorry. I’ve played it intermittently for a week. Anyway, they’re graduated, yay. Too bad I can’t install AL yet. Anyway, if you don’t believe me, Michael really does suck at dating. He’s nice, just shy. But that doesn’t stop him from making girls cry. Note his total disinterest in her obvious distress. Cold, Michael, cold!

Yu 3 – Round 19: ‘Polyamorous, End’

Shang Yu and Katarina Anderson have an ‘open’ relationship that suits them just fine, but how will this affect James’ development into a teenager?

It hadn’t taken long for Shang to coax Elena back into his presence.  She was hot, he was hot, and their mutual hotness was enough so that two consenting adults might enjoy one another’s attractiveness.  Of course, Elena wasn’t thinking clearly at all when she got into her little ‘fling’ with Shang, but those sort of concerns weren’t something Shang dwelled on.

He preferred to dwell on more pleasant things like making out and well, you know.    Just because he and Katarina had an open relationship didn’t mean they were distant.  No, instead, they were closer than ever.  There was a mutual sort of love and understanding that neither found anywhere else and it helped strengthen that bond.  They didn’t love the other people they messed around with, so that was a good enough justification not to stop their anti-monogamy.

Shang wasn’t the only one enjoying himself, Katarina also enjoyed her share of males.  She didn’t always go nearly as far as Shang, though.  Only with select few.  Fou-Lu was a fun distraction, but she mostly felt bad for his situation and offered to help cheer him up.  It was one of those instances where she used her wiles to help another.  They didn’t do anything serious, just a little messing around.  She didn’t have the heart to tell him Elena had been visiting frequently.

Despite their amorous lifestyles, Katarina and Shang were still capable of domestic moments such as dinner.  It was one of the few times that James actually found his family life normal.  He wasn’t quite sure what to make of all the different people he saw or met, but he did know that his parents didn’t argue or fight like many others.

Still, it was a little weird.  Especially when he saw people he knew were his friend’s or relative’s parents.

Shang was especially proud of his ability to sway Cara Anderson away from her riches and pleasantries and into a world of debauchery.  It was dangerous messing with her, this was true, but who wouldn’t?  She was the epitome of hot, she was the new Alyssa.  And so it was that she fell into the destructive trap…

Cara was more than a little bothered by Katarina walking in directly afterwards.  She was worried a scene would be started or worse, she’d tell her brother.  Instead, Katarina acted as if nothing was amiss and called out to Shang.

“James wants you then, when you’ve got a moment.”

“Just finishing up here, babe.  Tell ‘em I’ll be up in a minute.”

As he had and still did with Hugh, Shang spent time with James.  It was easy to balance love and family with his current lifestyle.  It was easy-going and carefree, the way he had always dreamed of living.  His age was catching up with him, so he was thankful for this degree of pleasantness.

James would be a teen soon and Shang was preparing himself for the onslaught of questions…

James became a teen that showed no signs of his Anderson heritage, but instead, favored the Yu’s.  In fact, he looked so similar to Zhou Yu it was a little disturbing.  Thankfully, he was nothing like his love struck parents and preferred more practical things in life, like knowledge.

He, as with the rest of the Yu’s, had an natural ability with music.

—————————

Mao edit: Things might be a little slow around here, sorry.  Still not feeling too great and I’ve been messing around with Spore.  Anyway, I played this several days ago, so I actually don’t remember James’ aspiration!  Oops.  I think it was Knowledge.  :P

B.S.U. Campus – Round 18: ‘You Turn the Screws, Pt. 2′

Filed under: Anderson,B.S.U. Campus,Davis,O`Hanlon,Saunders,Summary — Tags: , , , , , , — Mao @ 8:11 am

Zhou Yu and River Saunders have an awkward relationship, but with the addition of four others, their lives are about to get more interesting. Patrick O`Hanlon is happy to finally be free and explore his… options. Michael Saunders just wants to survive college; Elena Davis has her goal in mind, but her boyfriend Fou-Lu Yu doesn’t seem to have any ambition at all.

Elena, Michael, and Fou-Lu all traveled to University together. Michael had got stuck driving, while Elena and Fou-Lu often forgot he was in the front seat. It was a little weird to have to be in the same with car with your sister who is making out with someone you’ve known since childhood.

He was happy to be free of the confines of the car, while Elena was happy to finally be in college. Fou-Lu was just impressed with how hot Elena turned out to be.

Patrick arrived later that evening, having hitched a ride with a hot chick. Why he was so late was never put to question, as it went without asking. Patrick was pleased with his roommates, though he had wished desperately to have his own place. Still, having people to talk to was pretty cool, and he was related to some of these people, too, so meeting relatives was interesting.

It turned out Zhou wasn’t upset about Falco “flying the coop”, so to speak, and just bought about bird. It was this that brought their relationship into more official territory.

“It’s just a bird, babe,” Zhou had said, laughing. “He’s probably teaching his bird friends to swear, too. That’s cool with me.”

River chose to ignore the fact that the bird was quite possibly teaching other birds to swear and instead focus on Zhou’s unfaltering ability to be sweet.

Elena had done a lot of thinking during her time stuck in the house before coming to University. She decided to pursue her dream of being a world-famous dancer. As usual, Michael lingered in the background doing something boring and nerdy while she practiced.

It wasn’t long before Fou-Lu located her and extracted her from her practicing.

Michael had left in favor of less ‘intimate’ places while Fou-Lu pulled Elena into a hug.

“This dancing stuff isn’t so bad,” he said jokingly. “You look good in spandex.”

“Lu, stop it,” Elena scolded, though she made no move to pull away. “I have to do my exercises.”

“There are other ways of exercising if you’re that worried about it…”

She sighed, and smacked him hard on the arm, causing him to pull away. He gave her a look and broke out into laughter. She hit him again, lighter this time. He was such a joker and that worried her. Would he ever take life seriously?

As the first year came to a close, everyone fell into a routine. Michael and River had an art class together, despite their complete lack of creative skills. They found solace in one another’s company and general inepitude, muttering under their breath about the unfairness of college gen-ed courses as they hastily smeared gobs of paint on empty canvases.

Patrick and Zhou often studied together, though Zhou was horrified when his books got confused with Patrick’s. His mouth dropped when he opened the book to find a questionable picture of a co’ed… and upon dropping it, several more falling out and littering the floor.

“Dude!” Zhou said, gesticulating feverishly with his hands, unable to say anything else.

Patrick looked stunned as well, picking up a picture and admiring it, “I forgot I had this one.”

“Is that ou… our literature professor?”

Patrick grinned, snapping Zhou’s book closed and handing it over, “nice, huh?”

“Dude!!”

Yu – Round 18: ‘Hard to Handle, Pt. 3′

Tsung and Lilith, despite their differences, have had a happy marriage. With Tsung gone off to college, Fou-Lu is left to his own devices. His brother may have been a bit of a bully, but at least he was never arrested…

Fou-Lu felt horrible sitting in the back of the police cruiser as it pulled up in front of his house. He was just thankful Gordon had been around (though he wasn’t sure where he’d come from, and so late at night, too) to save his teenaged behind. Fou-Lu wasn’t sure what he said to the officer, but it was enough for him to not press charges and give Fou-Lu a ride home. He wasn’t able to thank Gordon, as he was gone as quickly as he’d come.

He just hoped he wouldn’t tell his father. He would kill him!

Not wanting to get into trouble again, Fou-Lu opted to hang out with his cousin Hugh as opposed to Basil. It was Basil’s fault he had gotten caught, just because Basil could run faster. That jerk. He couldn’t remember whose idea it was to sneak out past curfew and tag a building, but he was sure he wouldn’t be caught dead doing it again. Thankfully, Gordon hadn’t told his father (who would tell his mom!) and Fou-Lu’s head was still firmly attached to his body.

Tsung came back from college to attend his parents anniversary party. It was quite the little gala, with Lilith’s twin brother, Nathaniel, his fiance Sara O`Hanlon, good friends Damien and Aiyana Saunders, and Gordon all present. Shang was unable to attend because he was off on tour, and Kate was hesitant to come, unsure if Shang would be there or not.

Gordon didn’t tell Tsung what he had caught his son doing, because that would involve explaining to Tsung how he got Fou-Lu out of it. Gordon wasn’t yet ready to tell his friend what he did for a living.

He did, however, have to explain his current condition and the fact that Lilith had been coming to check on him. At this, Tsung was relieved. He wasn’t sure what to think when Lilith had begun to sneak out late at night–he thought the worst.

“Don’t be stupid,” Gordon said, laughing, “no one else could handle Lilith. You know that.”

“That’s true,” Tsung admitted with a shrug. “It’s weird seeing you young, and unfair. What made you make this choice, Gordon? You’ll outlive us all.”

“Always with the bad,” Gordon said, uncharacteristically jubliant. “Why don’t you focus on your good for once, Tsung? With all the divorces going on, you two should be basking in this moment.”

Tsung laughed, “lady troubles, Gordon?”

“What do you think?” Gordon replied, shaking his head.

“You really have made quite a name for yourself,” Tsung said to Lilith later as they danced, amusement written on his face. “You’re the resident paranormal guru.”

“Oh, please,” she snorted derisively, rolling her eyes in that dramatic way only she could manage. “Just wait until I have my own cult. Then you’ll all see how awesome I am.”

He was a little worried until she laughed and reassured him she was kidding.

Fou-Lu was nowhere to be found during the Anniversary party. He had snuck out to meet Elena. They were being your typical irresponsible teen, meeting in dimly lit places to makeout and otherwise rebel in their own ways. Unfortunately for them both, they failed to realize that Gordon didn’t need to necessarily see things to know them and the fact that his adopted daughter was getting more and more adventurous was sure to get back to him.

—————–

Note from Mao: Lilith’s LTW is fulfilled, yay. I had fun with the Anniversary party, I should do more of those. Fou-Lu actually did get busted sneaking out with Basil, but he glitched and Tsung and Lilith never got memories/etc despite being awake. He just popped out of the car and it disappeared. So I had to find a way to explain it, haha. Fou-Lu is an odd one, I don’t know what to make of him yet, he’s just your typical teen…

Saunders 2 – Round 17: ‘Family Business, End’

Gordon Saunders is Boreal Spring’s resident criminal mastermind and entrepreneur, Lauren was formerly Katy Saunders and quite dead. These two already make an odd couple, but will Gordon’s newest… interest only prove to heighten the strangeness? Michael misses his mother Tracey, but he’s happy to be with his dad. Elena wants to prove her worth, but she isn’t sure to who or why. Claude is just trying to keep his head above water amidst this busy and crazy family.

Lilith had been coming over to check up on Gordon for awhile now. Gordon wasn’t a trusting sort of individual, but he did trust Tsung and therefore, by default, trusted Lilith. He had to. She was the only one who knew anything about his new ‘condition’.

“Your vulnerability to the sun light will fade,” Lilith assured him. “You just have to give it time.”

“It’s hard to do business when I can’t go out in the daytime.”

“Sheesh, you’re a workaholic. Just don’t overdo it. The changes are still going through their cycles. It isn’t instantaneous. You might want to tell your family, though. I mean, not to be rude, but you’re pasty as hell and the fangs? They show, trust me.”

Meanwhile, Lauren was frustrated. She had been trying to teach Claude to talk for awhile now with no success. She knew that he wanted to see Gordon, but that wasn’t possible right now. He wasn’t home. She sighed and took a break. Leaving her in a house with three children? Not cool.

Of course, Elena was enjoying her freedom. Gordon probably would not have taken a particular liking to the fact that she had Fou-Lu Yu in her room. She wasn’t untrustworthy, but everyone knew that teenage hormones turned good-natured children into beasts from hell.

Elena wasn’t sure why she liked Fou-Lu. They had been friends forever, but he was a little too lazy and carefree for Elena’s usual tastes. So why did she feel the way she did? It didn’t make any rational sense.

He had his moments, though. He would play her violin while she worked on backlogged homework. He was better than her, music was a natural talent with the Yu family. Fou-Lu’s own uncle Shang is a rock musician and Tsung had dabbled a bit in the violin professionally. She wasn’t envious, though. It calmed her and helped her get through the work quicker.

For being so driven to succeed, Elena sure did end up falling behind on a lot of things.

Gordon popped up at night, nearly scaring Tracey to death. The change in him was immediately noticeable, dark tan skin suddenly pasty white and the way he moved was completely unnatural. He explained to her his plan quickly as he could, as he could see she was ready to pass out.

“It just doesn’t make any logical sense to me,” Lauren lamented, unable to wrap her mind around what exactly Gordon was plotting. “How does not being able to see your family during the day help?”

“That will change with time,” Gordon said, completely confident. “Don’t question my plans, Lauren. I warned you before you even started talking about marriage.”

Lauren sighed, “I know, it’s just… I can’t understand how you could ever want to outlive your children.”

“Perhaps not… which is why it is better we stick to things we have a common understanding in.” He said suggestively.

Michael’s birthday came soon after and as he grew up, they realized that there were hints of Tracey there. Especially with his proclaimed desire to have a family. Michael was quiet still, that didn’t change at all, but he was more jovial when he spoke. After Gordon had revealed himself, Michael wasn’t sure what to think or what to say. A vampire? He hadn’t even thought they were real until that moment.

He and Elena managed to work through their own confusion together. They were more like siblings than most siblings with their close bond and eerie understanding.

Claude was very similar Michael, except where Michael was shy, Claude was the most friendly and talkative person you could ever hope to meet. He was also intensely curious. He constantly followed Gordon around, asking him questions. While Gordon wanted to be annoyed, he couldn’t. Claude was still a child and his questions were harmless. He entertained them until Claude got bored and wandered off.

Lord Snow and Princess had three puppies; Rob, Sansa, and Arya. While they remained in the basement, they definitely made the house more lively. Gordon made sure that no one got attached to the puppies, as they would leaving as soon as they were old enough. It was up to them to find good homes for them. Claude wasn’t pleased with this, he enjoyed running around and chasing the hyperactive puppies.

————-

Note from Mao: Yay, my first litter of puppies in this hood! And yes, Gordon is a Vampire, now referred to as ‘Vampire Gordon’ anytime I talk to my fiance or Christina on Xfire. Mostly because Vampire Gordon insists of visiting all my community lots with his vampire buddies and trying to get protection money, LOL! That or he’s meeting Roman Anderson in shady places. My sims are so strange.

Florence Anderson has tried hard to keep her family together, but Shaniqua Saunders, their daughter Kate, and her cheating filth of a son-in-law, Shang, hasn’t made it easy. At least Hugh is a shining star amidst all the crap Florence has had to deal with.

“Are you looking for your lamp?” Florence said, confronting her daughter. “It’s gone. I’ve thrown it out.”

Kate was too stunned to speak, “y-you threw it out?!”

“Yes, I did. And I don’t want to see it in this house again. What were you thinking, Kate? What have you used that vile thing to gain?”

Florence didn’t wait for a reply. She simply sighed and said, “even that lamp won’t change who and what Shang is, Kate. And it won’t make you any happier and sure won’t make Hugh turn out all right. He needs a mother, Kate… and you need to fix this mess you’ve made.”

“But I can’t,” Kate frowned, suddenly saddened. No more lamp? What was real without it? “If I don’t have the lamp, I can’t–”

“I shouldn’t have pushed this marriage,” Florence admitted slowly. “It was wrong, but so were you, so is Shang everytime he does something stupid… which is like breathing for that idiot. Oh, Kate, of all the men… why him? He’s no good.”

“I don’t know, but I can’t help it,” Kate sniffed, allowing Florence to hug her. “It’s just not fair, mom. Katarina has the baby… it was supposed to be mine.”

“Don’t worry about her, Kate. Take care of the son you have and for goodness sakes, get that bafoon out of this house before he ruins Hugh.”

Florence wasn’t about to let it pass that Shang had somehow been stupid enough to knock someone else up. She lit into him the moment she saw him downstairs. Poor Shang was so caught offguard he nearly fell backwards. She had interrupted him admiring himself in the mirror. He was a Rock God now and he definitely looked good.

“You selfish little bastard!” Florence roared, backing him into a corner. “I swear, one of these days, I’m going to knock that smirk right off your face!”

“Geeze, chill out,” Shang replied, trying to evade his mother-in-law’s rage. “I don’t even know what you’re talking about, you crazy old bag!”

Before Shaniqua could say, “that really wasn’t wise” Florence pounced on Shang and took him to the ground. Shang was a little more than shocked by Florence’s ability to sweep the floor with him. Truth be told, he spent so much time just looking good that he really didn’t bother much with actual physical strength. Florence beat him up one side of the room and down the other and by the time they were through, Shang thought he needed to be rushed to the ER for possible damage to his face. That bag would pay if he had to cancel the tour.

Ignoring his dysfunctional family completely, Hugh continued his progression towards adulthood. He met and befriended his cousin, Fou-Lu. Hugh wasn’t particularly fond of his girlfriend, though. Elena was a bit too pushy for Shang’s taste. She reminded him way too much of his Aunt Lilith and Aunt Lilith was terrifying to poor little Hugh.

Unfortunately for Hugh, Florence died only a week later. It was heart failure and there was nothing they could do, it was simply her time. As if that weren’t bad enough, Shaniqua fell ill and soon died as well. It was two collective blows the strained family could have done without. Shang was glad that Florence was six feet under, but he didn’t like how upset it had made Hugh.

That wasn’t to be the end of it, though. Since Florence’s death, Kate had made a decision. She and Shang had begun talking about possibly separating or even divorcing. It would be rough on Hugh, especially with the loss of his grandparents, but it was necessary.

“So does that mean I won’t see you anymore?” Hugh asked sadly.

“No, I’ll just be down in Aperture. You can see me anytime you like, even stay, if you want. But your mom needs you here and you need her, too, more than me. We both know that, Hugh, I’m not winning any dad of the year awards.”

Hugh sighed, “it’s gonna be hard… without grandma Florence…”

“You’re stronger than you think, kid. Don’t sell yourself short.”

Kate didn’t like the fact that she had to give up her ‘rights’ to Shang, but what choice did she have? It was like trying to keep a wild animal caged. No matter what she did, Shang would never be faithful to just her. It was a harsh reality that made Kate feel completely and wholly sad.

“Don’t look so broken up, babe. Doesn’t mean we can’t still fool around. Shang is in demand and you can’t expect to keep that demand at bay with a ring.”

Kate frowned, “no, Shang. I’m just not that kind of person… and I’d rather you not be so open about it with Hugh.”

He shrugged, “Hugh will be who he is meant to be… and I doubt it is anything like me.”

And with that, Shang left his home in Boreal Springs and headed off to his swank pad in Aperture. Of course, before arriving, he’d have to stop by the original Anderson house…

—————-

Note from Mao: And so it ends. Poor Kate! She was really tired of catching him cheating. She kept slapping him and fighting with him, almost as bad as Florence! Let us hope Hugh can brave the difficulties and be the grandson Florence hoped he’d be.

Yu – Round 17: ‘You Turn The Screws, Pt. 1′

Tsung and Lilith Yu are happy with their lives, even if they have a few little secrets.  Zhou is ready to get out of the crazy house and head to University while Fou-Lu can’t wait to become a teen.

Lilith was surprised when Kate dropped by for a visit.  She knew it had to be because her younger sister wanted something.  That was the only time she contacted Lilith.  Sure enough, she had questions that needed answers about the lamp.

“It didn’t work,” Kate said, anguished.  “I’m supposed to be pregnant and I’m not.  Katarina had a baby, Lilith.  Shang’s baby.”

“Color me surprised,” Lilith remarked, clearly the opposite.  “Look, Kate, what do you want me to do?  Scold the lamp?  And how do you know it was the lamp’s fault?  You probably weren’t clear enough when you wished.”

Kate blinked.  Clearly she hadn’t thought of that.  “Um… I was!  I’m sure of it.”

“Right, well, maybe you should go.  The last thing I need is mom coming here and yelling at me for giving you the lamp.”

Zhou, meanwhile, was downtown exploring Aperture a bit before heading off to University.  Being a technical adult had given him some freedoms otherwise unavailable.  It wasn’t that great and while he spoke with a few females, none of them piqued his interest.  In fact, some of them were downright ridiculous.  He’d seen River wear some ridiculous things, but that snow leopard hat was a bit much for anyone.

Tsung wasn’t worried about Zhou, he knew that despite having his mother’s attitude, he’d succeed just fine.  Provided he quit bullying everything.  Even Lilith still had that problem.  It was Fou-Lu that made him concerned, the boy spent way too much time on the phone, even for a pre-teen.  When Tsung was a boy, he was doing stuff… not hanging out on the phone all day.  It was almost impossible to receive any calls at home, Fou-Lu was always hogging up the line.

He tried to talk to Lilith about it, but she just laughed and said he was talking to his soon-to-be-girlfriend Elena.  Tsung was puzzled at this.

It wasn’t until Fou-Lu’s birthday came around that Tsung realized who Elena was.  She was Gordon’s adopted daughter.  Tsung didn’t know enough about Elena to judge her suitability for his son and heir, but he was sure that Gordon’s influence on her wasn’t a bad thing.

Fou-Lu couldn’t have cared less what Tsung thought, he was in love.  He and Elena had been close ever since they were children and even if she was a little bossy sometimes, and maybe a bit too driven, he was smitten.

When he wasn’t with Elena–which wasn’t very often–he was hanging out with his friend Basil Saunders.  They enjoyed playing video games together and generally slacking off.  Basil shared his plans to ditch University and just hang out at his house.  Fou-Lu saw some merit to that, but knew that Elena would drop him like a bad habit if he so much as mentioned it, so instead he kept his interest a quiet one and continued beating Basil’s butt into the floor.

——-

Note from Mao: Not much happening here.  Fou-Lu and Elena were only a matter of time, I wasn’t surprised when they had two bolts with zero tweaking from me.  Poor Zhou, he’s still so puzzled over River’s rebuff.  We’ll see how things go in Uni…
