B.S.U. Campus – Round 22: ‘Turn Me Loose, End’

There’s plenty of people and drama to go around at Boreal Summit University the next two years…

The next two years at Boreal Summit University proved to be… awkward ones.  James, Marcus, and Shelly were all finishing their final years.  That was well and good, aside from the fact Marcus was sleeping with James’ girlfriend.  Of course, Marcus felt awful about it, especially because he was really interested in starting up a relationship with his former high school flame.  It was kind of hard when he kept randomly running into Kit and sleeping with her, though.

“Don’t even talk to her, don’t kiss her, just avoid her,” James suggested, surprisingly calm.

“You are handling this way too well, dude,” Marcus replied, stunned.

“You’re not the problem, Marcus, you’re a distraction.  Claude freakin’ Saunders is the problem.  Damn vampire.”

Cole wasted no time approaching Shelly.  She hadn’t really spent time trying to find romance in college.  Instead, she found herself kind of missing Cole.  She had always wanted Timothy O`Hanlon, but she was beginning to realize that may have been a shallow, teenaged girl fantasy.  She and Cole had a lot more in common and he would also cow-down and do whatever she said.  He was a bit of a pushover, the kind of person Shelly needed if she was going to make her dreams come true and become the next mayor of Boreal Springs.

So she accepted his advances and they started a true, non-fake relationship.  If anything, the Anderson name would certainly give her a leg-up in the political world.

Isolde, meanwhile, was still studying her ‘art’.  She’d had many talks with Lilith Yu and when she finally arrived at University, she couldn’t keep herself away from Timothy.  Together, they both brought her out of her negative spiral.  She stopped sulking and brooding and went back to what she loved.

“What are you doing?” Timothy asked one evening as Isolde tested her cauldron for the first time.

“Trying to make something for Lilith,” Isolde said, trying to concentrate.

“Screw potions,” Timothy replied, giving the globe in his hand a pained look, “use magic on this damn thing.  How did anyone ever manage to figure this thing out?”

Isolde sighed, “I don’t think it works like that.”

There were some definite perks to being a witch.  Isolde had the best transportation to class and anywhere else–a broom!  A real, flying broom.  Sure it was a gaudy blue, complete with a weird crystal at the end of it’s stick, but what could beat a flying broom?  Absolutely nothing.  She couldn’t wait until she’d studied enough to have a spectral assistant.  Timothy tried, but he really wasn’t very good at handling the reagents.

Poor Cole, meanwhile, was finding that tinkering was not exactly his thing.  The computer broke in the midst of him working hard on his term paper.  He tried to fix it only to get quite a jolt.  Thankfully, Isolde was around and she quickly hit him with a rejuvination spell.  He wasn’t enamored with her anymore, but he was certainly thankful for her helpful, witchy ways.

Shelly had different ideas of ‘healing wounds’.  Not that Cole particularly disagreed with her methods.  Perhaps it wasn’t smart to leave a bunch of unattended, young adults in a house all by themselves.  It would seem that none of their parents even considered they would do anything questionable.  Well, okay, Cole’s had.  Sara called constantly, reminding him that he was their last hope.  No pressure or anything.

Of course, you can’t have two family sims without a little trouble, either.  Sure, Isolde was knowledge-minded first and foremost, but her second inclination was family.  Perhaps that’s why she and Timothy got along so well.  They had plenty of chemistry, though it probably wasn’t wise to explore the chemistry right before an important final exam.

But then again, most guys don’t have girlfriends with witchy ways.  Timothy heads off to his final exam feeling completely rejuvenated and safe in the knowledge that he’s totally got college in the bag.

James, Marcus, and Shelly all graduated with honors, much to the delight of their parents.  Cole wasn’t about to let Shelly run off into the sunset.  He proposed to her rather spontaneously, right before she was preparing to leave with Marcus.  Of course, she accepted.  Instead of staying in a cramped little apartment, she’d go make nice with her future in-laws.  It would be awkward, but they had a nice house.  James seemed shocked by the display, wondering if Cole knew exactly what he was getting into.  Not that he was one to talk, really.

Meanwhile, outside, Marcus was chatting up his old flame, Valerie.  She was surprisingly also on campus and they had met a few times through classes and just random campus things.  She’d grown up quite well, he couldn’t deny it.  There was still an attraction there and maybe, since they were both adults now, a chance at something more.  They passed numbers and Marcus moved to leave with Shelly.  James would leave in the morning.

—————————–

Note from Mao: Isolde really wants Timothy to be a warlock, LOL.  Poor Timothy, I don’t think he has it in him to do witchy things.  He’s too confused by that silly game ball, he brings it out constantly and makes pained faces.  Cole immediately walked up to Shelly and planted one on her.  I was too shocked for a picture.  Seems he took the Tsung way of confrontation!  Either way, he wanted to get engaged and so they did.  Marcus kept having wants to talk to Valerie, so there she is.  She’s a pretty sim, despite her over-painted, pudgy-faced teen years.

Anderson – Round 22: ‘Sledgehammer, Pt. 3′

Alyssa Anderson is trying to keep her family together, even at the end of her days.  Her son, Nevio, isn’t making it easy.  Thankfully she has Adora to add some sanity to the mix.  She loves Isolde, too, but worries for her.

Roman came in while Alyssa was at work.  Behind him was Patricia Moreno.  Nevio had seen her working at the store, she had been pretty hot before the whole pregnancy thing.  He wasn’t sure why he was agreeing to this, especially since Patricia seemed so disraught about it.

“It has to look completely sincere,” Roman warned.

“It will, I’ve done this before, remember?  Lacie…”

Roman tried not to cringe, “right.  Of course.”

Roman left the two to get acquainted before the wedding, which would happen at the end of the weekend.  As soon as the door closed behind him, Patricia lit into Nevio.

“You are sick,” she snapped.  “I can’t believe you’re agreeing to this!”

Nevio gave her a look, “you obviously agreed, too.”

“Out of love!  For my child,” Patricia replied morosely, looking off to the side. “The alternative… was hardly a better option.”

Nevio didn’t even want to know what the other option had been.

Despite the tensions and animosity between the two, the wedding continued without a hitch.  Nevio had to be sure that Alyssa was none the wiser to their jest.  It had been harder than he thought, living under the same roof.  Roman, Cara, and even Gregory were there.  Why wouldn’t they be?  It would have seemed peculiar if they hadn’t been.  Despite his best efforts, Roman found himself too busy with his thoughts to pay attention.

It was anyone’s guess what happened next.

Patricia had hardly been married ten minutes before she stepped off the platform and toppled over.  Alyssa was quick to come to her aid, as she’d heard the girl coughing profusely since she arrived.  Sickness and pregnancy usually don’t go hand-in-hand.  An ambulance was called to no avail.  She was pronounced dead on the scene.  It was truly a dismal day for all, for a death is one thing, but the death of a pregnant woman newly wed?  It’s too horrible to consider.

There was no investigation, for too many witnesses had seen it happen.  There was no foul-play, except on nature’s part.

It took some time for things to resume as normal in the manor.  The only thing that brought the cheer back was Adora’s birthday.  She was turning into a lovely young woman and Alyssa was determined to mold her into a true family matriarch.  It would take much, as Adora yearned to have children of her own.  Little did she know that along with those children would come an entire family to manage.

Unfortunately, Alyssa’s time came not long after.  Both Isolde and Adora were beside themselves with grief.  Nevio mourned inwardly, obvious only in that he no longer brought women home.  The house was a somber place, and the ripples of Alyssa’s death moved through the family and its branches.  She was not only the matriarch of a powerful family, but also the Mayor.  Many holes were left to fill when she died.

Isolde was not so good at handling her grief.  All she could see was death surrounding her.  It was a bit much for her fragile mind to handle and so she began to lash out.  She threw horrible tantrums and fits, refused to see Timothy, and would lock herself in her room, whispering into the phone receiver.  She spoke only to Lilith Yu and the mysterious friend she had met through the old woman.

Adora, meanwhile, made friends.  She knew that her grandmother wanted her to be in her own image, and so she did her best to be popular.  Maggie O`Hanlon and her got along great, even though Maggie was a little older.  They were both level-headed individuals and their attractiveness didn’t hurt the bond, either.

Adora was definitely happy to have a friend in her time of need.

Isolde had a friend, too.  Before she snuck off to University, she called her and requested what she had wanted for so long.  It was a shame that Lilith couldn’t be there to witness it.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to sate Isolde’s grief.  There was too much temptation, too much begging her to get lost, to go further in and innundate herself in its power.

It would have to wait until she reached Boreal Summit University.

——————-

Note from Mao: Apparently teens CAN be witches… yay!  So Isolde was a witch before she left.  I’ve never had a witch before, so I’m experimenting.  As for Patricia’s death, you cannot imagine the face I made.  I was truly and completely SHOCKED!  She literally just dropped over.  She’s been sick for awhile, but I thought she’d make it through the pregnancy.  Not so.  I have the illness hack from MATY that makes them fatal if not cared for.  She and her baby were my first casualties.

Last update of the year!  Happy New Year, everyone!

O`Hanlon – Round 22: ‘Getting By’

Julie and Asia O`Hanlon have had a happy life, despite their ‘unconventional’ marriage.  Timothy is about to head off to University and Maggie is enjoying her teen years.

Julie and Asia might have gray hair now, but they’re still as happy as they were when they met.  Sure, a lot of time has passed, and maybe some arguments and bad words have been said, but in the end, they’re in love.  They’re lucky, too, with two great kids like Timothy and Maggie.

Timothy is overjoyed to find out that both he and his longtime girlfriend, Isolde Anderson, have been accepted to Boreal Summit University.  In his joy, he nearly squeezes the life out of poor Isolde.  Unfortunately, she can’t really share his festive nature, as she has bigger things in mind than just college.  Her days with Lilith Yu have opened her eyes up to a world of possibility and supernatural that not everyone can understand.  She can’t wait to embrace it fully.

Maggie, meanwhile, is still burning things.  She tries so hard to cook, but it just isn’t in her.  The fire department is on speed dial now and when they see their number come up, well, they’re not surprised.  Maggie has made friends with the local fire company, that’s for sure.  They’ve saved her life–and the kitchen–more times than they’ve fetched cats out of trees!

When she’s not burning things, she tries to find interest in boys, but it just isn’t there.  They’re all so… boring.  All they want to talk about is sports or stupid things and Maggie finds herself drifting off.  She feels like her life has find reached a lull at such a young age and hungers for something to liven it up.  She’s sure she’ll find something when Timothy stops hovering over her and goes off to college.  She had already gotten in trouble for sneaking off with her cousin, Cole Anderson.

——————-

Note from Mao: Sorry this one is so short, all Maggie did was burn things!  That girl, I swear.  No worries, the Anderson update will… definitely make up for it.  I still can’t believe what happened, lol.

Anderson – Round 21: ‘Turn Me Loose, Pt. 5′

Alyssa Anderson is trying her best to make sure her family name prevails, despite her careless son Nevio’s attempts otherwise.  Isolde seems to be a lost cause, but Adora is turning out to be more of an Anderson than anyone expected.

Isolde’s family may think she’s a ‘lost cause’, but she thinks otherwise.  She wants nothing to do with their silly familial ceremonies and rites of passage.  She’s more interested in her teenage love, Timothy, and her interests in the paranormal.  Thanks to Lilith Yu, she’s finding out a ton about the world beyond.  Thankfully, Timothy is respectful of her interests.

Nevio is making his own kind of friendships, much to Alyssa’s chagrin.  It was one thing to mess around with random women from Aperture, but to form relationships with married women from the same street?  Alyssa nearly had a heart attack when she found her son laughing with Virginia Saunders, who is also very pregnant and near her due date!

It was hard to believe she had raised a son with so little tact.

Alyssa certainly hadn’t been an angel herself.  She had ruined her marriage by cheating with Shang Yu, but she had made peace with her past mistakes and she hadn’t seen Shang in a long time.  Unfortunately, while she had meant to focus on her family, she had gotten sidetracked by another–Patrick O`Hanlon.  He was young, way too young, but he wasn’t like the other casanovas.  He was intelligent and skilled in things other than smooth talking.

It was during one of her events that she met up with him again.  He had come to see if there was anything she could do for his friend, Viola.  Alyssa was saddened that she could not, for she had pulled too many strings to get him where he was.

There had been a time, before this, that Patrick had inquired about seriously being with Alyssa.  She was intelligent and interesting, all the things the other women in his life were not.  She was older, but that came with power and position.  Unfortunately, Alyssa had declined and said she was much too old to be someone’s keeper and she had to focus on her family.  It was his first break in showbiz that had been her parting gift to him.  She was only mayor, but she had many, many friends.

It was a bittersweet farewell, for Alyssa knew it would likely be the last time she saw Patrick.  She wished him well.  If she had been younger, maybe, but she knew it was senseless to think such things.

While Alyssa was away for her event, Nevio was causing even more trouble.  Cara had been jogging by one day while he was going out to get the mail.  He stopped and asked after her, noting how she’d managed to get her figure back so quickly after giving birth.  Cara asked after Roman, wondering where he was and if Nevio knew.  Nevio did not.

As she ran off, Nevio began to wonder what his brother was up to that his wife didn’t know where he was…

Isolde knew better than to think Shelly wanted to make peace when she got off the bus with her, but she ignored her instincts and went along with it.  What she got in return was Shelly going over how Timothy and Isolde were from two different worlds and how it would never last, because Isolde was obviously a freak.  Isolde hated the fact that Shelly was technically her aunt and so she couldn’t kick her out.  She had to wait until Shelly left.

Adora, meanwhile, was doing extremely well thanks to Alyssa’s tuteledge.  She brought home straight A’s and her teachers were always beaming about her progress.  Nevio was certainly impressed with his daughter, though he knew it was mostly thanks to Alyssa and not his own awesome parenting.

————–

Note from Mao: Poor Isolde.  Shelly really did come home with her and lecture her.  Alyssa and Patrick really did have a relationship at one point, but it never made it to the blog because Alyssa treated it casually and Patrick did not.  They dated while Patrick was in University and a little afterwards.

Every time he sees her, he rolls up that want, and then sometimes will fear it, too.  But he never wants to marry anyone else.  They went on one last date because I was sure Alyssa would be gone by the end of this round.  Seems she’s got a few hours left.

O`Hanlon – Round 21: ‘Turn Me Loose, Pt. 4′

Julie and Asia are happy with their current life, but worry about the future of their children.  Timothy has found himself entangled in an unwitting love triangle while Maggie is on the cusp of teenage hormones herself.

Timothy O`Hanlon is oblivious to the fact that his deepening relationship with Isolde Anderson is causing problems.  To him, he’s in love, or as in love as a teenage boy can possibly be.  He ignores Shelly Yu’s cold stares and doesn’t notice Cole Anderson lurking around in the background.  His sole focus is Isolde and his hobbies.

He does miss his good buddy, Marcus Yu, though.  He’s sure Shelly has a big part in that.  James Yu is too busy trying to get early acceptance into college to hang out.

While Julie is sure that Timothy thinks he’s in love, she thinks he needs to face the true facts of love.  Love is adopting too many dogs and then having to go outside and scold them in the middle of the night when they roll around in dirty puddles.  Julie loves Asia, but she wishes that she didn’t always have to reprimand the dogs.  Asia was incredibly busy at work lately and so most household duties fell to Julie.

Maggie had enjoyed a rather energetic childhood.  She skipped rope, tried to do her homework, but mostly spent time following Timothy around.  He wouldn’t let her now, though, she was too young and when he went off to do things, it was ‘big kid’ things.  She was glad her days of being a little kid were soon to be over…

Julie wasn’t quite sure what to think about her youngest becoming a teen.  She certainly looked like Asia, though she carried the genetics of Julie’s father, Derek Saunders.  Julie hoped that Maggie took more time than Timothy did to find teenage love.  She needed time to enjoy her freedom before locking herself down.  Julie needn’t have worried, though.  While Maggie spent plenty of time on the phone, it was all with friends.

Besides, Timothy kept an eye on her and it was pretty clear she wouldn’t be dating until he was off to University.  That was okay with Maggie, she really wasn’t all that interested right now.  She had more fun competing with Timothy and being able to hang out with him and his friends.  She was also smart, so they always wanted her help with homework, even though she was two grades below them.

“Why don’t you have some cereal, sweetie?”

“Whoa, Mags, that thing is charred!

“No thanks, I’m going to eat this.”

Maggie may have been a capable and independent young teen, but she was not a culinary master.  She burnt everything she cooked, but never threw it out.  She would gulp down every disgusting piece.  Maggie O`Hanlon was definitely stubborn.

———————–

Note from Mao: Maggie cracks me up like crazy.  She seriously burns EVERYTHING.  Even with cooking points, poor girl.  She’s a Knowledge sim, so yeah, burning things isn’t something she favors.  Asia was absent from this entry because she was mostly at work when anything interesting happened.  Timothy and Isolde are ridiculous little high school sweethearts.  It’s sickening, but cute.  An odder pair you’d be hard-pressed to find.

Anderson 3 – Round 20: ‘Sade’s Diary, Pt. 2′

Nathaniel and Sara Anderson are successful and quite happy, unfortunately, their children seem intent on causing them great worry.  With Patrick out of the house and Sade preparing for University, they are left hoping Cole will manage to be relatively normal.

From Sade’s Online Diary, pulled from SIMplygorgeous.simjournal.com:

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to write, mostly because my brother is annoying and hogs the computer constantly! Anyway, mom is a big wig lawyer now and I guess that’s all right.  I mean, when I hit it big, it means I’ll have legal backup and that is necessary to any gorgeous starlet.  Who else will sue those creepy stalkers when they dig through my trash?!

I’ve been spending most of my time staying gorgeous, of course.  It isn’t like I have to try, but in order to make it seem like I have to work for it like everyone else, I exercise frequently.  University won’t know what hit it when I walk on the scene!

Ugh!  I just wish my parents weren’t so gross sometimes.  Who wants to see old people kiss?  Yuck!  Take that somewhere else!  This is not a geriatic Soap Opera!  My delicate sensibilities cannot handle such… nasty images!

I guess I should mention that my little brother Cole is an even more annoying teenager now.  He’s such a dork.  Why does he insist on staring at me while I’m on the phone with Kit?  Can’t he see we’re talking about important girl stuff?  What would a guy like him know about being gorgeous, anyway.

Mom has started lecturing me about University.  Come on, what is there to know?  She keeps telling me that “my looks won’t do anything for me there”.  Says who? When you’re this gorgeous, your looks always work!  That’s common knowledge!  But don’t think of me as some sort of easy Romance sim, because I’m not.  Only those deemed worthy get to partake in this aura of gorgeous that is me!

As I was leaving for University, I saw my brother talking to Isolde Anderson! Ewww, can you say social faux paus?  Is he trying to destroy his reputation before he even has one?  That unfortunate wreck looks like a twenty-four seven version of Halloween!

Sigh.  But what can I do?  Let him destroy himself.  It isn’t my problem.  I’m off to University!

—————

Note from Mao: Sade is too much sometimes, even for me, LOL!  Let’s see if she changes a little in college.  Can you say ‘reality check’?  She’ll be there with Claude and Kit.  Also, SimPE isn’t updated for AL yet and I got impatient and installed it anyway… so I can’t update the DB or the family pictures until it is.  :(

Yu – Round 20: ‘Crushcrushcrush, End’

Tsung and Lilith Yu have been happily married for many years, now they welcome their eldest son Zhou and his love, River, into their home.

Zhou and River were married in an intimate ceremony held in their backyard near the pond and trees that Sun-Tzu had ordered many years before.  Family and friends were in attendance and the day was clear with not a cloud nor a even the slightest hint of rain.

A childhood crush and a troublesome courtship had ended in happy nupituals.

River was understandably nervous, she had never really seen herself as the “marrying type”, especially not with Zhou, but what they had was beyond denial.  Why should she deny happiness, even if it was a little odd?  Being around Tsung and Lilith had shown her that such odd couples truly can work.

They were oblivious to the dissension amongst the wedding guests.  In bringing together family and friends, they brought tension.  But they were too busy being newlyweds to pay attention.

Elena and Fou-Lu weren’t officially ‘back together’, but it was hard to say otherwise with the way they acted after the wedding.  Elena was living back home until she got onto her feet while Fou-Lu and the other men were looking into apartments that were being built in Aperture.

Zhou took the time to advise his brother to tread softly, so not to scare Elena away.  He knew his brother wasn’t the most reliable and steady of men, but he knew how much he loved Elena.  He just hoped Fou-Lu could pull his act together long enough to become a respectable adult.  Responsibility had never been something the younger sibling wore very well.

The newlyweds weren’t the only ones in love, Tsung and Lilith were still very much aware of one another.  They enjoyed their quiet years as elders and looked forward to the possibility of grandchildren.  Her advancing age hadn’t stopped Lilith from pursuing her paranormal interests and Tsung hadn’t yet retired, either.  He was in charge of the apartment and town house plans.

Lilith was pleased to have an apprentice to pass on all her knowledge to.  Isolde Anderson had come to her sheepish, but adamant and so Lilith took her in.  It would take awhile for Isolde to truly grasp the very nature of what she believed in, but Lilith was sure she would reach the same level as she, if not even higher.

She just hoped the girl was prepared for the ridicule and everything that came with being such an ‘odd’ character.

—————

Note from Mao: Zhou and River are finally married, yay.  And Inteen needs to hurry up, I need Apartments for my recently graduated young adults!

Anderson – Round 20: ‘Turn Me Loose, Pt. 2′

Alyssa has managed to keep her son, Nevio, from faltering despite the loss of his wife Lacie.  Isolde and Adora, still young, leave their grief behind.  When they think about it, their mother really didn’t have much of a relationship with them.

Despite their age difference, Isolde spent time with Adora, whether it be tickling or talking.  Adora was beloved by everyone in the house.  It was difficult to ignore her.  Thankfully, Isolde was still young enough to be enraptured by her younger sibling’s charisma.  Later on in life, though, she might end up becoming jealous of it…

“I’m not going to be here forever, Nevio,” Alyssa warned her son.  She was trying to get him to think about settling down again, for the girls’ sake.  “What will you do then?”

Nevio made a face, “why do you always have to talk about death?  You’re just trying to bully me into another marriage.”

“Your marriage to Lacie was your own fault,” Alyssa replied sternly.  “You were the one who wasn’t careful.  The girls need a mother figure and they don’t need their father catting around.”

“They have you and that’s more than enough.  As for what I do, I’m an adult.  That’s my business.”

Isolde’s birthday crept up on them all and soon, before their very eyes, she was turning into a young lady.  Unfortunately, she took this opportunity to properly express herself.  She shunned all her former brightly lit clothing and instead found things in blacks and grays.  She dyed her hair a darker shade of brown and painted her face to match.

Alyssa was horrified, but what could she say?  Isolde was still a good girl… but her eccentricity was becoming more apparent with each passing day.

Adora, too, grew up into a lovely child.  She reminded Alyssa so much of herself at that age.  She was gorgeous, too, that was undeniable.  She was the obvious heir, that much was certain.  Isolde showed no interest in the family, but Adora, even as a small child, had been keen to persue the Anderson interests.  Alyssa was thankful that at least one of the kids turned out relatively… normal.

Isolde was growing used to people shying away from her.  She had tried to keep all her curiosities and strange thoughts to herself as a child, but now, she wouldn’t do it any longer.  She was interested in ghosts, vampires, and all things paranormal.  Her neighbor, Timothy O`Hanlon, was the same age as her and while she had been friends with his sister, she didn’t know him very well.

He was woefully normal looking, but he indulged her interests and even participated in her strange conversations.  He seemed transfixed by her oddities.

Some time later, their conversations turned towards a crush.  Without thinking, Isolde took a bold step and kissed him.  She had heard that Shelly Yu was interested in him and so had tried to keep her distance, but he was always around.  It seemed he felt the same.  But they were from very, very different worlds… not to mention what Shelly would do when she found out.

Despite being an Anderson, Isolde was ostracized from the ‘popular’ crowd due to her looks and interests.  The only time they spoke to her is when they were seeking assistance at Alyssa’s clothing boutique.  Isolde had an amazing skill with selling things, which surprised Alyssa quite a bit.

Alyssa just wished she would focus more on selling than asking silly questions.  Isolde was scolded when Alyssa caught her grilling Claude Saunders about his possibly vampiric father.  That was something no one asked about and especially not so bluntly!  There was a known strain between the Andersons and Gordon, Alyssa didn’t want it made worse by her loose-tongued granddaughter.

Isolde was a handful, to be sure.

Not near as much as her father, Nevio, though.  He spent his nights wooing fans and doing indecent things behind closed doors.  Alyssa was fed up with his actions, but what could she do?  She was beginning to feel the weight of the family on her shoulders and was worried about Adora.  How could she possibly managed to carry it once Alyssa was gone?

——————–

Note from Mao: Okay, I’m not 100% better, but I can sit at my computer, so that’s a plus!  I played this before I got sick, the pictures were waiting to be assembled into an update… so here you go!  I really enjoy Isolde and Adora looks a LOT like Alyssa so far. Also, Isolde and Timothy?  2 bolts without trying, meaning they could easily be a 3 bolt.  She is a Knowledge sim.

Anderson – Round 19: ‘Blood Money, Pt. 4′

Alyssa is trying to keep her family afloat, but Nevio married the wrong woman when he chose Lacie. At least little Isolde is cute and normal.

Lacie spent the last part of her pregnancy eating everything in sight, and not very demurely, at that. Alyssa had been talking about remodeling the house to better suit the growing family, but Lacie would always avoid the conversation. Nevio was too busy at work. As long as Lacie kept preoccupied, she wouldn’t have to deal with any of that.

Who gave that old woman the idea that she had control here, anyway?

Meanwhile, Isolde enjoyed talking about the paranormal with her cousin James. He often accompanied his mom, Katarina, when she visited. He was a little startled by his cousin’s odd conversation topics; ghosts, crystal balls, vampires? Yeah right.

Lacie finally gave birth to a baby girl named Adora. She had the Anderson skin and eyes. Alyssa couldn’t have been happier–another girl! Sure, a boy would be better for carrying the name, but the Anderson clan would do well to have another female heir. Nevio had sure screwed it up for the males.

Lacie was just glad to have the squirming demon out of her. She left the baby’s care to Alyssa.

A few nights later, Lacie got an unexpected visit from a mysterious stranger. She was the only one awake, with everyone else fast asleep. It was the wee hours of the morning and when she saw him outside, she hurried out, not sure why. That was dangerous behavior.

She had heard Gordon Saunders mentioned in some conversations, but she had never really seen him. Had he been at the wedding? She couldn’t remember, but she knew he was related to the Anderson family.

“I have an offer for you,” he said simply.

After hearing him out, Lacie grimaced and shook her head, “are you kidding? I’m not leaving all of this! I’ve got money and plenty of it!”

“You don’t have a choice,” Gordon said firmly, motioning with his hands. “This was your last evening at this house, I hope you enjoyed it.

“Oh, right! Like I’m going to listen to you. I’m going back inside.” She moved to leave, only for him to grab her arm.

“You’re not going back in there, Lacie. Your time at Boreal Springs has come to an end.”

Alyssa woke early in the morning to care for little Adora only to find that Lacie was missing. She decided to wait until morning to rouse Nevio, but she had the worst sort of suspicion she had fled. Had she stolen anything? No, everything was here, all the money, cards, everything. It didn’t make sense, but Alyssa didn’t have time to question it… she was going to have upset children to deal with and her son, as well.

Isolde seemed to have the same intuition as her grandma Alyssa and got out of bed only to cry at the loss of her mother. She wasn’t dead, but she was very much gone. No one knew where, but they called the police and reported it. No one expected they’d find her, nor did they expect her to return.

Despite the loss of her mother, Adora grew into a lovely and happy toddler. Nevio made sure to spend more time with both girls and pushed the loss of Lacie out of his mind. He was actually a bit happier without her around, surprisingly. But he wasn’t quite ready to date seriously again, much to Alyssa’s chagrin.

Meanwhile, Isolde was still talking about her favorite topic to all her new little friends. Maggie O`Hanlon wasn’t nearly as taken back. They both talked animatedly about ghosts and graveyards, saying they needed to visit the one down the road when they were teenagers. Their parents would never let them, but surely they could sneak out…

Note from Mao: Do we have a new Lilith? I swear, all Isolde talks about to anyone is paranormal. It’s hilarious and crazy. Yes, Lacie is gone. No, Gordon didn’t kill her… but he did send her away. Where? Well, that’s the question.

Anderson – Round 18: ‘Gold Digger, Pt. 2′

With Katarina gone, Alyssa is left with Nevio, Lacie, and little Isolde. Poor little Isolde, if it weren’t for Alyssa, she’d be neglected.. can her romance-oriented parents get their act together?

Lacie had mentioned several times how nice it would be to have a hottub, but Nevio was incredibly surprised when he came home one day to see contractors setting up a deck and hauling a huge jacuzzi. Alyssa said nothing, she just shook her head. Nevio was too shocked to speak.

He came around, though. The hottub was an extremely nice addition, even if it did mean he saw way more of Shang Yu than he ever wanted to. Shang had dropped by one day and told Katarina to pack her and James’ things, she was coming downtown with him. They saw more of Shang than they did of Katarina… and Nevio wasn’t quite sure he liked the looks that passed between him and Lacie.

Meanwhile, Alyssa was stuck caring for poor Isolde. She had become an adorable toddler and though she still resembled Jun Yu, Alyssa could now see that she looked quite a bit like Nevio, too. Alyssa loved spending time with Isolde, but worried that her parents had no part in her life. She’d have to kick Nevio into shape, she hadn’t raised her son to be a negligent father!

Of course, she’d have to fish both Nevio and Lacie out of the hottub, first. They spent the majority of their time out there, doing goodness only knows what. Alyssa was really sick of Lacie lazing around the house, doing absolutely nothing. She refused to get a job and she didn’t care for Isolde at all, except to complain to Alyssa that most rich people had nursemaids or nannies to care for their offspring.

Roman had planned on opening his real estate venture in Boreal Springs, but after some advice, decided to put it in Aperture. He gave the lot to Alyssa, suggesting she open a store and save up some funds so Lacie didn’t bleed them dry. Alyssa did more than that, she drug Lacie with her, putting her to work at the register. She was going to earn her keep if she wanted to stay and Alyssa would hear no more of this “don’t you want to move out” business!

Alyssa was happy when she finally got it through Nevio’s thick skull that his daughter needed him and that being an athletic didn’t mean he had to be a complete jerk. He didn’t dislike Isolde, quite the opposite, he just wasn’t sure what to do. Thanks to Alyssa and some help from Katarina, Nevio was slowly spending more and more time with his daughter.

Lacie eventually got out of working for Alyssa by claiming to be pregnant again. Alyssa had to hide her fury when she realized it was true. This woman having another child was just wrong. Alyssa wished her son could see what a little harpy he married, but he was oblivious. Anything she asked for, she got. Lacie had Nevio wrapped around her finger like one of the many platinum diamond bands she owned.

In fact, she even went as far as to suggest that perhaps a bigger ring would be better suited for her finger, given all the pain and tribulation she had to go through.

While Lacie was a vacuum of money and wealth, Isolde was the opposite. She was a happy and smiling child and being around her made Nevio feel considerably better about his life. He knew that perhaps Lacie was not the best choice, but even so, he loved her and that emotion often rendered even the most intelligent of beings foolish.

He just hoped Isolde didn’t take her mother’s bad example and act the same way.

Note from Mao: Poor Nevio, he’s such a patsy. And Shang really did refuse to leave when they got the hottub. He came over once with Katarina and Lacie started swooing over him. He kept trying to put the moves on Alyssa, but she’s over that now. Lacie and him are good friends now, though… and Isolde is ADORABLE. Srsly.
