Yu 3 – Round 19: ‘Polyamorous, End’

Shang Yu and Katarina Anderson have an ‘open’ relationship that suits them just fine, but how will this affect James’ development into a teenager?

It hadn’t taken long for Shang to coax Elena back into his presence.  She was hot, he was hot, and their mutual hotness was enough so that two consenting adults might enjoy one another’s attractiveness.  Of course, Elena wasn’t thinking clearly at all when she got into her little ‘fling’ with Shang, but those sort of concerns weren’t something Shang dwelled on.

He preferred to dwell on more pleasant things like making out and well, you know.    Just because he and Katarina had an open relationship didn’t mean they were distant.  No, instead, they were closer than ever.  There was a mutual sort of love and understanding that neither found anywhere else and it helped strengthen that bond.  They didn’t love the other people they messed around with, so that was a good enough justification not to stop their anti-monogamy.

Shang wasn’t the only one enjoying himself, Katarina also enjoyed her share of males.  She didn’t always go nearly as far as Shang, though.  Only with select few.  Fou-Lu was a fun distraction, but she mostly felt bad for his situation and offered to help cheer him up.  It was one of those instances where she used her wiles to help another.  They didn’t do anything serious, just a little messing around.  She didn’t have the heart to tell him Elena had been visiting frequently.

Despite their amorous lifestyles, Katarina and Shang were still capable of domestic moments such as dinner.  It was one of the few times that James actually found his family life normal.  He wasn’t quite sure what to make of all the different people he saw or met, but he did know that his parents didn’t argue or fight like many others.

Still, it was a little weird.  Especially when he saw people he knew were his friend’s or relative’s parents.

Shang was especially proud of his ability to sway Cara Anderson away from her riches and pleasantries and into a world of debauchery.  It was dangerous messing with her, this was true, but who wouldn’t?  She was the epitome of hot, she was the new Alyssa.  And so it was that she fell into the destructive trap…

Cara was more than a little bothered by Katarina walking in directly afterwards.  She was worried a scene would be started or worse, she’d tell her brother.  Instead, Katarina acted as if nothing was amiss and called out to Shang.

“James wants you then, when you’ve got a moment.”

“Just finishing up here, babe.  Tell ‘em I’ll be up in a minute.”

As he had and still did with Hugh, Shang spent time with James.  It was easy to balance love and family with his current lifestyle.  It was easy-going and carefree, the way he had always dreamed of living.  His age was catching up with him, so he was thankful for this degree of pleasantness.

James would be a teen soon and Shang was preparing himself for the onslaught of questions…

James became a teen that showed no signs of his Anderson heritage, but instead, favored the Yu’s.  In fact, he looked so similar to Zhou Yu it was a little disturbing.  Thankfully, he was nothing like his love struck parents and preferred more practical things in life, like knowledge.

He, as with the rest of the Yu’s, had an natural ability with music.

Mao edit: Things might be a little slow around here, sorry.  Still not feeling too great and I’ve been messing around with Spore.  Anyway, I played this several days ago, so I actually don’t remember James’ aspiration!  Oops.  I think it was Knowledge.  :P

Yu 3 – Round 18: ‘Polyamorous, Pt. 7′

Shang Yu is happily divorced and has drug his long-time-lover Katarina Anderson and his 2nd son, James, along with him to his new home in Downtown.

Despite their difference in age, Shang and Katarina had always gotten along famously. They even understood one another to the point of neither so much as blinking an eye at the other’s indiscretions. Granted, Shang took the cake when it came to things like that, but Katarina was no angel herself.

Now they were together in an ‘open’ relationship. Shang was home from his tour for awhile and Katarina spent a lot of time helping him tweak certain songs.

“Tweak that one a bit, babe,” he said, strumming lightly, listening. “A little more, that should do it.”

Shang was well-known for his exploits with women and while most men of his ilk were horrible fathers, Shang was not. He cared deeply for both of his sons and made sure that they were taken care of. Hugh knew of his father’s ways and wasn’t dismayed when he saw him out with women, but James had quite awhile to go before he’d be able to understand.

Of course, with Hugh, it was easy. It was only his father, not both of his parents. Poor little James…

Cara Anderson came by to interview him for one of her columns–she was working her way up in the media–and he had to admit, that prim-and-proper bit was hot. He knew she was very married to Roman Anderson, but what could he say? Those Anderson women, he had a weakness!

He made a few little jokes and did his usual bit with the charm. He was surprised when she almost seemed responsive, but then suddenly, she drew away. Oh, this would be fun… even Kat would get a kick out of this!

James became a child and looked quite a bit like his father, though he certainly looked more like a Yu than anything. He had his father’s charm and seemed to be rather easy-going. Only time would tell if he turned out anything like his parents or not…

Shang and Lacie had a bit of an affair in the hottub and even while she was pregnant, Shang continued to charm her. He didn’t much like to hear her talk, but she couldn’t deny that she was smokin’ hot. He kind of pitied Nevio, though. He was Kat’s brother and well, he wasn’t a bad guy… just not too bright.

No one in their right mind would mess around with Lacie on a serious level. That woman should have been born with green eyes!

Being Downtown had definitely helped Katarina’s career. She was at the top of the party scene now–there wasn’t a huge event that she wasn’t invited to. Of course, she made sure she still had time for James. She was usually gone while he was asleep, anyway. She spent a better part of the day with him, helping him with his homework, and trying to embrace her maternal instincts.

James brought his Uncle Marcus home from school one day. He was quite surprised to find out that his friend was technically his uncle.

“It’s true, you know,” Marcus said in a sagely tone. “I’m technically your mother’s half-brother.”

“That’s… just weird.” James remarked, making a face.

Marcus laughed, “have you met your older brother yet? He’s technically my cousin!”

————–

Note from Mao: Man, talk about twisted family trees! Poor James, I worry for his future. This house needs revolving doors. One scene I laughed too hard at to get a picture of was Katarina teaching James to do his homework near the stairs and front door. Two women came up in their underwear and immediately went to leave. Seconds later, Shang comes walking up the stairs in his underwear and makes a whistle motion at Katarina while walking by.

Anderson 4 – Round 18: ‘Blood Money, Pt. 3′

Roman Anderson is becoming quite a powerful man, can Cara keep up?

With the success of his last business and the deeds to lots in both Aperture and Boreal Springs in his hands, Roman opened another business. It was a simple grocery store nestled in Boreal Springs. It was a success and Roman hired on a young woman who desperately wanted to be close to Boreal Springs. Why he didn’t know or care, but she proved to be a good worker, albiet unskilled.

One evening, during dinner, Cara decided to question her husband. She had seen him acting oddly and skulking about, she even had others tell her about it. She didn’t think he was the type to have an affair, but what else could he be doing?

“It’s business,” Roman said sternly, “that’s it. Who is filling your head with this garbage?”

Cara shrugged meekly, “I… I wasn’t trying to imply anything, Roman, I was just worried.”

“Well don’t,” he snapped, angry that others had been talking and not quite pleased as his wife’s distrust. “Why would I sully the name I’m trying to restore? Honestly, Cara, sometimes I wonder where your brain is.”

Cara frowned and stared down at her plate, ashamed. She should have known better. Perhaps she was projecting her own thoughts onto Roman…

Katarina stopped by one day to thank her younger brother for the awesome pad he had hooked her and Shang up with in the heart of downtown. Roman wasn’t fond of his sister’s ways, but she was his sister, and despite herself, she had a brain.

“You shouldn’t thank me, Katarina,” Roman replied, showing a rare bout of humility. “It was Tsung Yu’s design and Gordon Saunders that made it truly possible.”

“Well, whatever, you had a hand in it someway, so thanks. I know how you feel about Shang, and with Nevio marrying Lacie–”

Roman laughed, “it’s fine, don’t worry about it…”

Roman’s luck wasn’t all good, one night, while they were asleep in their lavish bedroom… a burglar broke in. Fortunately, Roman had the foresight to install an extensive security system. The police were called to the scene before the striped fiend could make off with anything. Unfortunately for that burglar, that particular cop was also in Gordon Saunders’ pocket… and well, you don’t mess with someone under his protection.

There were definitely perks to working with criminals…

Cara enjoyed throwing parties, epsecially those that involved the other ladies from Boreal Springs. Alyssa frequented these and Roman pulled her aside one afternoon to tell her of his plan.

“Lacie won’t be a problem for much longer,” he confided.

Alyssa gave him a look, “what are you saying, Roman? She’s pregnant!”

“The baby will be fine, mother. Just trust me–I’ve taken care of it.”

Alyssa shuddered, remembering the propaganda involving her mother all those years ago… something in the back of her mind shouted for her to take notice, but she ignored it.

Cara, meanwhile, was having lunch with one of her guests. River Saunders was an interesting type of girl, not particularly feminine, but incredibly keen. Cara grilled her on sciences and her studies at university.

While she enjoyed all the guests she invited, Cara had to admit, she didn’t get along very well with Lacie. She really didn’t like Lacie’s blatant flirting with her husband or her attitude.

Note from Mao: The blonde in the first picture is important for a reason you will find out later. ;) Katarina is like Shang, she constantly drops by uninvited. It’s insane.

Yu 2 – Round 18: ‘Moving On, Pt. 3′

Ryu and Tracey have come a long way, leaving their former spouses behind.  With their hectic work schedules, can they ensure that the twins, Marcus and Shelly, make it to childhood?

Even after so long, Ryu was the primary caregiver.  It was quite the role reversal, as Alyssa had taken care of most of the ‘rearing’ as far as children were concerned before.  Now it was up to him.  It wasn’t particularly hard and his increasing age gave him more and more patience.

It was hard to be patient with certain things, though, like Katarina.  She held no grudges at all and would visit now and again.  She was shacked up with Shang and Ryu wasn’t quite sure how he felt about that.  He still couldn’t imagine her as a mother, though Alyssa had said she was doing surprisingly well.

Katarina only visited during the afternoon and evening, while Tracey was off at work.  She had no problem with her new siblings, but she really didn’t care to meet Tracey.

The twins’ birthday came and went, and despite being children, old habits die hard.  They still spent a lot of time at the little drawing table, having competitions as to who could ‘draw better’.  Neither one came out on top of the other, Ryu wasn’t sure if his creativity had passed on to either of them.

They saw their mother late in the evening, when they usually had dinner.  She always made sure to inquire about their day, school, and everything that would happen while she was away.  It wasn’t easy leaving them behind and going to work, but she was nearly at the top and it wouldn’t be much longer until she needn’t worry about it any longer.

Of course, by then, they’d be teens caring for themselves, but sims don’t usually plan that far ahead…

Despite Tracey being gone a lot, life was good for the twins.  Of course, not everyone was kind about it.  Timothy and Marcus were friends, but Timothy always gave poor Shelly such a hard time.  Kids would be kids and what goes on in their mind when they tease girls is always the same…

—————-

Note from Mao: Katarina is as bad as Shang!  She stops over autonomously constantly–it’s crazy.  Timothy teased Shelly on his own, which made me laugh…

Anderson – Round 18: ‘Gold Digger, Pt. 2′

With Katarina gone, Alyssa is left with Nevio, Lacie, and little Isolde. Poor little Isolde, if it weren’t for Alyssa, she’d be neglected.. can her romance-oriented parents get their act together?

Lacie had mentioned several times how nice it would be to have a hottub, but Nevio was incredibly surprised when he came home one day to see contractors setting up a deck and hauling a huge jacuzzi. Alyssa said nothing, she just shook her head. Nevio was too shocked to speak.

He came around, though. The hottub was an extremely nice addition, even if it did mean he saw way more of Shang Yu than he ever wanted to. Shang had dropped by one day and told Katarina to pack her and James’ things, she was coming downtown with him. They saw more of Shang than they did of Katarina… and Nevio wasn’t quite sure he liked the looks that passed between him and Lacie.

Meanwhile, Alyssa was stuck caring for poor Isolde. She had become an adorable toddler and though she still resembled Jun Yu, Alyssa could now see that she looked quite a bit like Nevio, too. Alyssa loved spending time with Isolde, but worried that her parents had no part in her life. She’d have to kick Nevio into shape, she hadn’t raised her son to be a negligent father!

Of course, she’d have to fish both Nevio and Lacie out of the hottub, first. They spent the majority of their time out there, doing goodness only knows what. Alyssa was really sick of Lacie lazing around the house, doing absolutely nothing. She refused to get a job and she didn’t care for Isolde at all, except to complain to Alyssa that most rich people had nursemaids or nannies to care for their offspring.

Roman had planned on opening his real estate venture in Boreal Springs, but after some advice, decided to put it in Aperture. He gave the lot to Alyssa, suggesting she open a store and save up some funds so Lacie didn’t bleed them dry. Alyssa did more than that, she drug Lacie with her, putting her to work at the register. She was going to earn her keep if she wanted to stay and Alyssa would hear no more of this “don’t you want to move out” business!

(Shoppers viewed here are Aiyana Saunders and Tsung Yu)

Alyssa was happy when she finally got it through Nevio’s thick skull that his daughter needed him and that being an athletic didn’t mean he had to be a complete jerk. He didn’t dislike Isolde, quite the opposite, he just wasn’t sure what to do. Thanks to Alyssa and some help from Katarina, Nevio was slowly spending more and more time with his daughter.

Lacie eventually got out of working for Alyssa by claiming to be pregnant again. Alyssa had to hide her fury when she realized it was true. This woman having another child was just wrong. Alyssa wished her son could see what a little harpy he married, but he was oblivious. Anything she asked for, she got. Lacie had Nevio wrapped around her finger like one of the many platinum diamond bands she owned.

In fact, she even went as far as to suggest that perhaps a bigger ring would be better suited for her finger, given all the pain and tribulation she had to go through.

While Lacie was a vacuum of money and wealth, Isolde was the opposite. She was a happy and smiling child and being around her made Nevio feel considerably better about his life. He knew that perhaps Lacie was not the best choice, but even so, he loved her and that emotion often rendered even the most intelligent of beings foolish.

He just hoped Isolde didn’t take her mother’s bad example and act the same way.

——–

Note from Mao: Poor Nevio, he’s such a patsy. And Shang really did refuse to leave when they got the hottub. He came over once with Katarina and Lacie started swooing over him. He kept trying to put the moves on Alyssa, but she’s over that now. Lacie and him are good friends now, though… and Isolde is ADORABLE. Srsly.

Anderson – Round 17: ‘Gold Digger, Pt. 1′

Alyssa Anderson is newly divorced and has a lot on her plate. Her eldest daughter, Katarina, has returned home very pregnant with the same man Alyssa herself has slept with. Nevio managed to knock-up his girlfriend, Lacie, in University. With a wedding to plan and babies to prepare for, things at the Anderson residence are hectic.

Alyssa wasn’t completely sure how to react to Katarina’s news. The fact that Katarina was pregnant was enough of a surprise, but that it was Shang’s baby? Alyssa felt a little sick inside. Messing around with Shang had been very, very wrong. She could never let Katarina know now.

“Of course you can stay here,” Alyssa said, trying to reassure her daughter. “Just know that Lacie is here, too, until Nevio returns home from University.”

Katarina smirked, “why am I not surprised?”

Nevio came back to the house a few months later to find his sister very pregnant and his soon-to-be-wife just barely showing. Being surrounded by hormonal women wasn’t exactly something he looked forward to, nor did he enjoy the conversations at the dinner table.

“So, am I going to get that big?” Lacie asked, eyes wide. “I hope not, I’ll never get my figure back.”

Katarina ignored the dig and simply said, “it all depends on how big the baby is. I’m actually quite small for how far along I am.”

“It would have been nice if you had told us all sooner, Katarina,” Alyssa interrupted giving her daughter a look.

That night, Lacie took it upon herself to have a talk with Nevio. She was concerned about Katarina being there and was hoping that the eldest child would leave and find her own place to live. It was bad enough Nevio’s mother was still present, but Katarina there threatened her place as head of the house even worse.

“I don’t know when Kat’s leaving,” Nevio replied easily. “She can stay as long as she likes, as far as I am concerned.”

“It isn’t good for us all to be here at once, Nevio. You’re the heir, this is technically now your house. Shouldn’t your sister and mother leave?”

Nevio laughed as if she was joking, “don’t be stupid, Laci. Mom helped build this house, this is her home. She isn’t going anywhere and I don’t want her to.”

Katarina wasn’t quite sure what she thought about her room remaining the same as when she had left it. She had tolerate the uncomfortably small bed and overly pink room for long enough. With the baby coming any day now, it was more than time for a remodel.

She’d have to speak with her mother about it in the morning. Katarina hadn’t planned to stay as long as she had, but she didn’t exactly look forward to being a single mom, either. She hadn’t even told Shang yet.

Of course, Katarina didn’t have to. Alyssa had enough, she knew that it was messy business, but Shang had to know. She phoned him up without Katarina knowing.

“You need to come over, Shang. There’s something you need to… see.”

‘Well, that’s an interesting way of saying it, babe.’

Alyssa sighed heavily, “no, Shang. I told you, that’s over. I’m talking about Katarina.”

‘Kat? Is she okay?’

“Just come over and you’ll see for yourself.”

Katarina was hardly impressed by her mother’s little stunt. She met Shang in her very pink room and let him know that this was not her idea at all.

“I can’t believe she did this,” Katarina sighed, unable to hide her anger.

“I’m glad she did, why didn’t you tell me?” Shang replied, humor gone from his voice. “How long, Kat?”

“It was during the tour, at the island. I came back and well, there it was.”

“Were you ever going to tell me?”

“…I don’t know. I figured it was best you didn’t know and I really didn’t want you seeing me like this. I feel like a beached whale.”

“For being a beached whale, you look pretty hot to me, babe.” Shang replied jokingly, pulling her into his arms and kissing her. “You know I can’t help you out directly… but I wanna be involved, all right?”

“Fine, but don’t get all serious on me about this. It doesn’t change things.”

He laughed, kissing her again, “and that’s why I love you, Kat.”

Katarina gave birth to little James Anderson a few days later. He looked everybit like Shang, only his eyes were big and brown like Shang’s brother’s and his father’s. There was no mistaking it, that much was sure. Katarina idly wondered if he had any of her in him at all. He definitely didn’t look a bit like his namesake would have you believe.

Knight – Round 16: ‘Paralyzer, Pt. 2′

Marla is happily married, completely unknowing of her husband, Travis’, transgressions with her best friend Katarina. Katarina is feeling the weight of the guilt, though, and tensions are high in the house.

Marla was happy that little Kit had come along peacefully. Her pregnancy, though her first, had been surprisingly effortless and she was able to come home much sooner than anticipated. She and Travis had converted the spare bedroom into a nursery for the new baby. Kit looked a lot like her father, only having her mother, Marla’s, eyes.

Katarina, unable to handle the guilt any longer, decided she needed a break. Little baby Kit had only made things worse. Katarina had never been a terribly considerate person, but she knew that being with Marla’s husband was a line even she hadn’t truly wanted to cross. Marla had been her only true friend through both thick and thin and it was with a heavy heart Katarina packed up her bags and headed off to the tropics.

Shang was out there with the band and they had intended to meet up for a little impromptu ‘fun’. Katarina never felt guilty about messing around with Shang, even if he was her cousin’s husband.

Of course, going anywhere with Shang meant dealing with his fans, both young and adult. The band was quite popular now and it was impossible to take a step without being interrupted. Katarina ignored them and laid out in the sun while Shang flirted and spoke with his ‘adoring fans’. It went on like this the entire time they were at the beach. At least Katarina had gotten some sun.

The adoring fans didn’t keep them from making full use of their hotel room, though. Katarina really didn’t care about Shang’s flirting and meeting up with his fans. They did the same thing, they were naturally promiscuous and monogamy wasn’t exactly something they understood. As long as she knew that he was her first pick, that’s all that mattered.

It wasn’t easy going home, but Katarina knew she couldn’t stay at the island hotel forever. She was a little surprised, though, when she realized she wasn’t coming home alone. Checking herself in the mirror, trying to see if it was obvious, she found herself unable to come to terms with the reality of the situation. Travis chose that moment to walk in.

Of course, it didn’t take him nearly as long to see what was happening. His eyes nearly bugged out of his head.

Anderson 2 – Round 16: ‘Polyamorous, Pt. 5′

Florence and Shaniqua have an unsteady relationship while Kate and Shang’s makes theirs look like couple of the year material.  Poor little Hugh is still oblivious to the strangeness of his family, but how long will it last.  (pardon the outdated picture of Hugh, woops.)

As was usual for this particular household, Florence and Shang were in the middle of a rather loud row.  Florence had lit into him for his indiscretion with Alyssa while Shang had shot back with the implication that Kate had been dabbling in unseen forces.  Florence balked at this claim.

“A golden lamp?  Honestly, Shang, do you take me for that much of a fool?”

“Hey, I’m being real.  That girl of yours is sneaky.  You think I was really so careless as to knock ‘er up at college?”

Florence scowled, “you’re foul, Shang Yu, foul and disgusting.  I can hardly stand the sight of you.”  She stormed off.

Despite her initial anger at her son-in-law’s claim, Florence decided to seek out further counsel.  She spoke to her son, Nathaniel, who had been passing by one morning.  Of course, he was clueless.  Poor Nathaniel got the looks, but he certainly wasn’t the brightest of bulbs.

“A lamp?  Are you kidding?  I don’t know anything about that stuff, ask Lilith.”

Finding nothing on the lamp front and too proud to contact her daughter Lilith to inquire further, Florence relented.  She instead shared with Shaniqua what Alyssa had told her.  Shaniqua’s response was quite warranted.

“They what?” She gaped, completely aghast.  Shaniqua had screwed up in the past, but never with family.  What the hell were they thinking?  “That’s insane.”

“Isn’t it?  And I don’t know what to do.  If Kate were to ever know…”

“Alyssa should know better, too.  No wonder her marriage is over.  Sheesh.”

Meanwhile, Shang had been feeling the weight of married life.  Sure he had some fun with some ladies, but it wasn’t enough.  The stifling atmosphere he suffered at home was enough to kill a man.  He sought comfort outside, in the one person who could always provide it in endless quantities.

“This married life is killing me, babe.  I’m not sure how much longer I can take it.”

Katarina smiled and moved towards him, “poor baby, I know just what you need…”

Unfortunately for the both of them, Florence had been home at the time.  Busted was truly an understatement.  Shang hardly wanted to crawl out of the bed, knowing what awaited him when he did.  Goodness only knew what Florence would do to Katarina.

Florence lit into Katarina like a vengeful flame, only to be snuffed out before she began, “how could you do this–”

“You, shut up!  No one tells me what I can and what I can’t do,” Katarina hissed in response, giving Florence a sharp jab.  “You wanna blame someone, blame Kate.  She’s the idiot in this mess, not us.”

“Ladies, ladies, can’t we resolve this with kindness?”

“Shut up, Shang,” they said in unison, the Anderson tones in their voice quieting him instantly.

“Get out, Katarina.  If I ever see you in my house again, I swear…”

“I’m leaving,” Katarina said, rolling her eyes.  “Don’t bother with threats.”

“As for you,” Florence said, whirling around to face Shang, who had found his clothes on the floor and put them on.  “You are shameless!  In this bed, in my house!  I regret ever bringing you into this family.”

“It was a forced thing, I would’ve been happier has a bachelor,” Shang admitted, crossing his arms over his chest.  “Find the lamp yet, Florence?  Might want to, before Kate screws us all over.”

“There is no lamp, that’s just an excuse for your carelessness!”

“Is that so?  Then what is this?” Shang said, pulling the lamp from beneath the bed.  “Go ahead, look at it.  I’m outta here.”

Florence could scarcely believe her eyes.  The thing was huge and unmistakable, its golden sheen catching in the bright daylight.  How had Kate kept this so carefully hidden?  Florence didn’t want to venture a guess as to where it came from, she already knew.  It had to have been Lilith, but why?  Lilith was a lot of things, but she wasn’t stupid.  Didn’t she know what Kate had done with this vile thing?

With great effort, Florence hefted the lamp out of Kate and Shang’s room and hid it away in her own.

Meanwhile, Hugh had somehow managed to become a teen.  It was likely thanks to his grandma Florence’s tireless efforts.  While he hadn’t understood at first, he know knew that she was guiding him down the right path.  He was old enough to see how crazy his family was.  No one could say he wasn’t Shang’s son, though, as he was a remarkable likeness, though with softer features.

He desperately wanted a family, despite the nature of his father dwelling within him.  He would strive to fight it and he would succeed.

Hugh was happy to announce his first scholarship to Florence.  She was the one who had started him on the path towards college.

“I’m so proud of you,” Florence said, hugging him tightly.  Her time was short, she knew she’d never see him actually go, but the pride she felt knowing he would was enough.  “And so early, too.”

“It’s all thanks to you, grandma.  I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

“Don’t say that, sweetie.  You’re a good kid, you’ll always do fine, as long as you try and keep your wits.  Don’t be like your dad.”

He laughed, “but I like music!”

“Well, that’s fine, but you know what I mean.”

——–

Note from Mao: Phew, long update.  Katarina and Shang got buuuusted.  Woo!  And the lamp is revealed, ohnoes.  Hugh is, well, yeah.  Wow.  Where did he come from?  He’s a family sim with a LTW of golden anniversary, but a randomized roll of the dice has designated him to have a secondary as Romance.  Dun, dun, dun… Florence is on her last day.  She’ll die next round. :’(

Anderson-Knight – Round 15: ‘Paralyzer, Pt. 1′

Marla Knight, formerly O`Hanlon, reveals her secret lover Travis Knight (aka Mr. Big). Katarina Anderson is along for the ride and finds herself in a very awkward situation.

Marla was happy to finally introduce her best friend to her boyfriend. She knew Katarina wouldn’t judge her for going after a slightly older man. Instead, Katarina seemed to approve quite readily. Older men had money and the girls definitely needed some cash to improve their bachelorette pad.

Katarina’s parents had given her some money, but kept the rest locked away for an emergency. They knew she couldn’t be trusted to use it wisely, especially when she was so far away in Aperture.

Shang was more than happy to help Katarina break in her new place. In fact, he was envious. She wasn’t married and she got to live and party in Aperture.

“This is a great place, Kat.”

“Sure,” Katarina said, moving closer, “but I know how we can make it better…”

Travis Knight had met Marla O`Hanlon one night in a bar. His divorce was quite the trying process and he desperately needed a night-cap. Marla was there to listen to him ramble and their friendship grew into more. Travis cared a great deal about Marla, but he couldn’t deny the fact that Katarina was ridiculously attractive. She wasn’t the brightest bulb in the pack, but what she lacked in intellect she more than made up for in beauty, sophistication, and allure.

He did his best to keep his attraction quiet, though something told him Katarina saw right through his attempts.

Eventually, Travis moved in. He did his best to avoid Katarina, instead focusing all his attention on Marla. It wasn’t that she wasn’t just as attractive–she was, just in a different sort of way. Marla was the kind of woman you settled down with. She would care for your children and love you even when you were old and wrinkly. Katarina was like a really fast and expensive sports car–every man’s secret fantasy. It wasn’t easy to deny that, especially since Travis had just gone through a divorce with a woman like Marla.

One night, instead of immediately jumping him, Katarina began to talk to Shang. He was surprised by this interlude, but decided to run with it. Katarina was his favorite person, with or without the sex.

“What do you think about love, Shang? Do you think what we do is right? I mean… I know you don’t mess around with married folks, but still. Don’t you think about the relationships your messing up? The love your abusing?”

“Babe, what’s with this philosophical crap all of the sudden?” He replied, trying his best to ignore the lump in his throat. He had messed with a married woman… Katarina’s own mother. “Do you feel bad for being with me knowing I’m married to Kate?”

“No, but you don’t love Kate, silly,” she retorted, giving him a look. “Everyone knows that.”

“That’s not true… I’m not in love with her, but I’ve got love for her. She’s my kid’s mother, Kat. There’s something to that… but it doesn’t mean I can deny my nature. And neither can you. We’re not monogamous creatures… we’re wild and untamed. And we like it that way.”

Katarina wasn’t completely convinced by Shang’s explanation. He didn’t know the situation, the guilt associated with wanting to do incredibly bad things to your best friend’s boyfriend. But in the end, he was right. Katarina couldn’t deny her nature. She knew Travis was attracted to her and that made it all the more harder to fight.

Meanwhile, Marla was finding herself in her own sort of situation. She and Travis had talked a little about getting married but it wasn’t until Marla woke up and immediately planted her head in the toilet bowl that those talks turned to serious consideration. Marla knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was pregnant and that it was definitely Travis’. She’d never been with anyone else.

Travis had no children to his ex-wife, so the news was quite a shock to him.

Everything seemed to happen in fast forward. All their careful plans went barreling forward. Travis met Derek and Mary and gained their approval. He proposed to Marla with them there, which definitely earned him brownie points. As long as they didn’t figure out that Marla was pregnant, that is.

They had a short and intimate wedding, where Marla’s family gathered to celebrate the event. Mary was definitely relieved that at least one of her children was normal enough to get married. Unfortunately, Nathaniel and Sara couldn’t make it due to baby Sade, but sent their best wishes.

After the ceremony, Travis found that his head was spinning. He could scarcely think. This was made worse by the dress Katarina was wearing and the fact that she was walking up to him. No one else was around. She whispered as she walked by, “I have a wedding present for you…”

Travis followed Katarina into the house and up the stairs. He hardly hesitated when she saw where he was leading him. It wasn’t until it was too late that he realized he was in her room and cornered. There was no way out. It was dangerous, it was risky–Marla was downstairs, along with her entire family… yet what could he do? He was in such a panic, everything had happened so quickly…

“Ready for your present?” Katarina purred, moving closer.

He was only married a few hours and already he was making big, big mistakes.

Note from Mao: This was NOT planned. I realized all too late that Katarina and Travis have THREE full bolts while Travis and Marla only have two. Sheesh! Katarina is a man eater. This can’t end well…

B.S.U. Campus – Round 14: ‘Lies, Lies, Lies, Pt. 4′

Julie O`Hanlon and Asia Ternynck are in love; Julie’s parents are oblivious. Marla O`Hanlon has her own vices and Katarina Anderson is more than ready to indulge her friend.

Julie sighed, listening to her Aunt Gina on the other end. Gina knew the circumstances between Julie and Asia the second they visited for dinner and was intent on getting Julie to fess up to her parents. Unfortunately, Julie wasn’t so easily swayed. She was the heir to the O`Hanlon name and being a lesbian could jeopardize that.

She didn’t want to give up her birthright, but she also didn’t want to give up Asia. She hoped that Gina was right and that her parents would love her no matter what, but who could say? Julie wasn’t ready to risk it.

Meanwhile, Marla and Katarina were indulging themselves. The new connection to Aperture gave them a bevy of options. They could often be found skipping out on class in favor of getting toasted and singing really bad 70s hits in a karaoke bar.

They enjoyed themselves so much that they decided they would surely move to Aperture upon graduation. Who could deny the pull of the city life? The sleepy burb, with its white picket fences and perfect lawns, was hardly their style.

Marla had always had her own problems and shortcomings. They were both thanks to Katarina dragging her through trouble and also her own issues with being second fiddle to Julie. She loved her twin dearly, but she was jealous. Julie was in love–even if it was a girl–and she got to take the house their grandmother Eileen had founded Boreal Springs. What did Marla get? Failing grades, as far as Boreal Springs Summit University was concerned.

She spent a lot of time milling the bars of Aperture. It was there that she met her own kind of special friend.

She spoke to him secretly on the phone in the house back on campus. They would meet downtown, but he never came back with her. Marla was afraid he’d see the place and realize she wasn’t as wealthy as she seemed. Hanging out with the mayor’s daughter and Thomas Anderson’s granddaughter, Katarina Anderson, had given Marla the appearance of being wealthy. The O`Hanlons were comfortable, but hardly wealthy.

So she kept her true life a secret and enjoyed the thrill of meeting her beau in the hot spots downtown, being wined and dined. He was a little older than her and was going through a divorce. Her parents would be livid if they found out.

Julie decided that there was no way she could ever leave Asia behind, no matter what her parents might think. So she proposed. Asia was overjoyed and hoped this meant they could finally be open about their relationship. She had been concerned, too, but she was a teen and silly. She knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Julie was the one for her. She just hoped Julie was as secure as she was when it came time to face her parents.

Note from Mao: Very boring Uni turn. At least it’s over, yay! Any clue as to who Marla’s mystery beau is? You’ll find out eventually, no worries. Marla really does enjoy booze, too. Anytime Katarina drug her downtown, she headed straight for the bar! Lush.
