Knight – Round 23: ‘No More Words, Pt. 1′

Things have been going pretty all right for the Knight clan, but could it just be the calm before the storm?

Marla wasn’t quite sure what happened.  One minute, she was chatting with Kit while her daughter sampled her latest suggested dish for the restaurant, the next minute, everything just went to chaos.  Travis was still in his pajamas and Katarina had popped up out of nowhere.  She had brazenly made a move on Travis, to which he had groggily responded to.  Marla was infuriated, Kit was too shocked to do anything but stare.  Katarina sauntered into the living room.

“I’ll be waiting for you when you’re done here, Marla.”

“What do you think you’re doing, Katarina?!” Marla raged, so furious she felt her chest constrict and tighten.  “This is my house and you walk in here and accost my husband in front of me and my daughter?  Haven’t you done enough?”

“Obviously not,” Katarina said indignantly, “because you’re still as blind as ever.  Can’t you see?  Travis is a lout, he always has been.  He was at my store, Marla… and friendly conversation quickly became–”

Marla silenced her immediately, “shut up, just shup up! You’re nothing but a tramp and now you’re coming in here, messing up my family and trying to make yourself look like some sort of fidelity messiah?  Give me a break, Katarina.  Everything you’ve ever done in your entire life has been selfish.  All you care about is yourself!”

“The same could be said for you, putting your family through the tension of your quickly dissolving marriage…”

Get out!” Marla demanded, her voice reaching new octaves, “NOW!”

Before Katarina could leave, Kit came to have her say.  Unlike Marla, though, she wasn’t nearly as disciplined not to attack the woman that had made her life extremely difficult.  Her infidelity, her inability to commit–she blamed it all on her mother’s former best friend.

Katarina laughed her off, pushing her back, “you’ve got the wrong woman, Kit.  Your mother is the one who made you what you are!”

“You evil witch!” Kit snapped back, jumping on her.  Katarina was older, but skilled.  Kit found herself on the losing end of the battle.

Meanwhile, Jennifer was having her own trauma.  She heard the commotion downstairs and awoke abruptly from a vivid nightmare.  She worried that her father was gone and that her family was crumbling all around her.  The new house was built of a flimsy foundation, it seemed.  Would she suffer the same fate as the adult Kit?

Moving back to Boreal Springs had enabled Marla to reconnect with her fraternal twin Julie.  She called her the next morning and they met for coffee.    Julie was saddened to hear about what happened, but happy to see her twin again after so long.

“You could always move out,” she suggested.  “We have room.”

“Move my entire family out of the house I’ve been working towards my entire life?  No,” Marla sighed, taking a long sip.  “I’m too old to start over, anyway.  Jennifer’s nearly grown, Kit’s on her own now… and me?  I’d be all alone if I left Travis.”

“You could always come stay with us, Marla.”

“That’s all right.  I made my bed, I’ll just have to lie in it.  Thanks, though, Julie… I appreciate it.”

The aftermath was a simple one, Travis and Marla avoided each other.  They were cordial in front of the kids, but otherwise, went about their own lives.  They were both too old to divorce, but after what happened, Marla would sooner douse herself in gasoline and set herself on fire than talk to Travis.  It was strenuous on Jennifer, who was nearing puberty with amazing alacrity.  She looked to Kit for guidance.  She idealized her so much.

“You don’t want to be like me, Jen,” Kit confided, sighing.  “Just be you.”

Jennifer was adamant, “but you’re not unhappy like mom!  You have so much fun!”

“Not really.  It’s all a mess, everything.  Just be you.  In the end, it’s all you can do.”

And so, with her visions of her parents and Kit crushed, Jennifer was Jennifer.  She was angry, impulsive, yet had a very quick wit.  She sought knowledge–perhaps some explanation as to why she had been dealt such an unlucky hand.  Still, beneath her rough exterior, Jennifer was incredibly fragile.  It would just be incredibly hard to see, covered with all the… other stuff.

Marla was determined to have someone inherit her legacy, but it seemed highly unlikely.  Jennifer just wasn’t into it.  She didn’t really care about cooking.  When she would goof up, she’d just shove it all in her mouth, much to Marla’s horror.  Why couldn’t she have had at least one child inherit her natural talents?  Her businesses would die with her, it seemed.

——————–

Note from Mao: I have no idea WTF happened.  I was playing and then I heard the BOOOING!  And I look over and there’s Katarina, come out of NOWHERE, and Travis is getting slapped and it was just insane.  Then Kit attacked Katarina and Jennifer was having a nightmare and wow.  Jennifer is a Knowledge sim, and she has ZERO nice points.  Fun.  She’s also very angry at several people, thanks to all the house fighting!

Knight 2 – Round 22: ‘Addicted to Love, Pt. 4′

Kit Knight hasn’t got it all together like most might think.  She’s floundering, still trying to figure out exactly what it is she wants from life.

Kit moved into a tiny apartment across from her best friend Sade and her now-husband Michael Saunders.  She was a little startled to see that Sade actually got what she wanted and a little jealous, too.  Kit had always been the smarter one, the more ambitious one.  What had happened?  She called James and he came to visit her from University.  He was younger and still toiling through college.  Still, he was completely and wholly in love with her and probably even entertained ideas of marrying her.  It was comforting.  He was the first one she called.

Unfortunately, a few nights later, she went out on the town and ran into Marcus Yu.  They had an awkward sort of ships passing in the night things while Kit had been at college and not with Claude anymore, but with James.  He was there with his former high-school girlfriend.  He didn’t leave with her, though.  Kit knew she needed to stop acting like some woman of the night, but she really couldn’t figure out why.  It was her life, right?  Anyway, if Marcus thought she and James were seriously dating, he wouldn’t come around her, right?

The person she saw the most of was Claude Saunders, th0ugh.  At first, she had refused to do anything past being friends, but well, that didn’t last long.  Claude was a vampire, yes, and that only seem to add to his innumerable charm.  Kit wasn’t particularly sure why she was continually drawn to Claude.  He didn’t really share her level of intelligence and he wasn’t necessarily concerned about the same things or the future.  He lived for the moment.  Maybe that’s what she liked so much.  She knew he liked Emily more than her, which grated on her nerves endlessly, but Emily was missing and so Kit got most of his attention.

That didn’t stop her from feeling guilty.  She just couldn’t rationalize her own emotions.  James would be graduating soon and he’d likely want to be with her.  What would she do when threatened with commitment?

“How can you love two people at once?”

“Easily,” Claude offered casually, “love is different for everyone.  We all love someone, but differently.  I mean, I love you, but not in the way you might expect.”

“That’s for Emily,” Kit replied sourly, “and who is to say I even love you?”

“Oh, please, Kit,” Claude laughed, “if you didn’t, you wouldn’t be screwing around with me behind James’ back.  Good little boy he is.  He’s a good catch, you know.  You’re an idiot.  I wonder what he’d do if I walked up to him and told him what’s been going on?”

Kit rolled her eyes, “he’d probably hit you.”

“Hm, lucky for you I like my face unharmed.  Well, I guess he’ll find out the hard way, then… can’t say I didn’t try.”

“You’re such a jerk, Claude.”

Note from Mao: I have no idea what I’m going to do with Kit!  She sleeps with everyone and everything.  If Sade weren’t with Michael, she’d try to get with him, too.  Three bolts.  Agh!

Saunders 3 – Round 22: ‘Haunting Me, Pt. 2′

Michael Saunders has finally accepted Sade O`Hanlon’s advances.  Talk about an ‘odd couple’–quiet, reserved, and intellectual meets vain, outgoing, and brash.

Of course, as soon as Fou-Lu vacated the premises, Sade was finally able to convince Michael to convert his room for better use and let her stay with him.  Her motives were questionable, but nevertheless, she got her way.  Still, the poor couch.  What can you expect?  Young couple, apartment, and alone time.  The couch will have to deal.

Michael gave up his former job that had him going all over and instead accepted a position his stepmother, Lauren, had offered him.  He was a principal at the local high school.  It didn’t exactly make use of his mental faculties, but he was hoping to move up to the collegiate level.  Sade, meanwhile, was busy either modeling or dancing.  Regardless, she was obsessive about being ‘thin’ to the point of demanding Fou-Lu’s former room be her little workout area.

The routine was quickly ended when Michael told her, before heading off to work early one morning, that they were going downtown and to look nice.  Not that she didn’t now, but well, formally nice.

As soon as he was gone from the apartment building, Sade called Kit and demanded she come over right now.  Kit obliged, not having anything better to do, and found Sade near hyperventilation.  She couldn’t tell if it because she was upset or happy.

“Sade?”

“I think he’s going to propose to me!”

Kit gave her a look.  Sade, married.  It was a scary thought.  Sade married to Michael, scarier.  Michael was attractive, terribly so–smart, quiet, all of that.  Shame Kit hadn’t noticed earlier.  “Are you sure?”

“He told me to wear something nice because we are going out tonight,” Sade rambled quickly, dragging Kit into the workout room.  “I need your help.”

“What do you think?” Sade asked, having changed into her proposed ‘formal wear’.  “Too much?”

Kit blinked, “no, it looks nice, Sade, but… do you want him to propose or jump you in the restaurant?”

Sade smiled, “you think?  Nah, you know he wouldn’t.  Come on, seriously.  Is it bad?”

“No, no, it looks good.”

“Now I’m really glad I’ve been in that show where I interpratively dance wearing nothing but two ribbons.  My body is tight!”

“Does Michael know about that?”

“Okay, Kit, time to go!” Sade replied, pushing her best friend out the door, failing to answer her question.

Michael arrived home not long after and was happy to see that Sade had obliged him without question.  He knew she probably had a vague idea as to why he had thrown the hint out there, but hoped it would still be a slight surprise.  For once, Sade was relatively calm and tame.  There were no outbursts or fits and she didn’t even complain or threaten to maim the waiter when he nearly spilled water all over her.  She was entirely focused on Michael, almost too focused.  He was beginning to worry.  Bottled up Sade rage aimed at him was not something he particularly wanted.

When he finally got to proposing, she toyed with him.  She couldn’t hide the excitement that crossed her face first, but she quickly tried to push it aside.  She held up the ring, as if inspecting it.  Very nice.  But she kept her face neutral.  She slipped it onto her hand and looked at it, holding it under the light.  It was almost as if she were a jeweller scaling a diamond.  Finally, the guise dropped–along with Michael’s stomach–and she said yes, but not before nearly jumping him in the restaurant.

Michael had to practically pry her off so they could leave.  PDA of this level was not within his comfort zone, especially not when this creepy old guy at another table kept staring at Sade in an inappropriate way.

They were married outdoors, at a newly build park in Boreal Springs, with both of their family, and extended family attending.  It was one of the few times anyone would ever see evidence that Sade truly was Nathaniel’s daughter, for her pointed ears were definitely on display, even if hidden a bit by the veil.  Thankfully, the wedding was fairly quick and therefore, the awkwardness of Michael’s two mothers, was avoided.  Gordon and Claude were not present for obvious reasons.

A few months later, Sade stopped Michael before she was supposed to go to work.  Instead of being dressed in the newest couture–Kit had slipped about the ribbon job to Michael and Sade had found herself looking for another job—she was still wearing her pajamas.

“Am I getting fat?” She asked, looking down.  She looked the same as ever, though there was some weight on her stomach.  Nothing atrocious.

“Is this a trick question?” Michael asked dubiously.  “Is this one of the questions where, no matter what I say, you end up yelling at me?  I don’t like those questions, Sade.”

She growled, throwing her arms into the air and headed back into the bedroom to change, “You’re not help at all!”

Michael shuddered and quickly realized he had to go visit his stepmother.  Dealing with Sade lately had been like putting your hand in a box full of cacti.

Shortly after Michael left, Sade found she was unable to change, too overcome by the urge to, well, vomit.  She continued to do so for an hour before calling off work.  Did she have food poisoning?  Worse yet, was she puling because she was fat? She’d have to ask Kit if that was a side effect of not being incredibly thin and gorgeous…

Michael had no idea Sade was ill, nor did he know she hadn’t gone to work.  He came home to an empty house, one of his subordinates following behind.  Viola O`Hanlon was technically his sister-in-law.  He wanted to give her some help before he left to go to Boreal Summet University administration, so he had invited her so they could talk it over.

Viola, on the other hand, was wishing she had seen Michael before Patrick.  She had grown to love Patrick, but Michael was the kind of attractive where he had no idea.  And that was attractive.  Not to mention they both had the same minds when it came to education and children.

Michael was gone for a weekend, visiting Boreal Summit University and going over the finalities of his application process.  He happily accepted the job as a College Professor–with hopes of moving up to Dean of Students–and returned home only to find the TV was broke.  He wasn’t quite sure where Sade was, as she should have been home when he got there.  She finally came in sometime later, standing behind him.  He didn’t turn to look, too absorbed in trying to fix the stupid TV.  His father had a way with electronics, he had tried to teach Michael, but well, Michael wasn’t his father.

“Michael,” Sade said timidly, as startling way for her to speak after so many outbursts.

“Where were you?” He asked, still focusing on the TV.  “I’ve been home for two hours.”

“I had an appointment at the hospital,” Sade replied, hands resting suddenly on her stomach.  “I’m pregnant.”

——————————

Note from Mao: Sorry this one is so long.  I had more pictures.  :b  It’s like the Patrick and Viola update.  Too much happened, but I tried to slim it down.  I really enjoy playing these two, because Sade?  Is a horrible pregnant person to deal with.  Poor Michael.  Anytime he tries to talk to her or be all romantic she gets mad and shoos him away, LOL.  Sade does not like ‘being fat’ at all.  Viola also kept following Michael home AND Kit kept coming over when Sade wasn’t home.  They both have three bolts for him.  I also had NOT planned on Sade getting knocked up so early on ((glares at Michael)).  I even had them scheduled to go on vacation, I had to cancel it. Their wedding was also me testing a very modified King’s Park to be used for weddings.  I had to cut to one picture for length.  Tracey and Lauren shared many glares.

Knight – Round 22: ‘Moving On Up’

Travis and Marla Knight have entered their elder years, but instead of relaxing and being grandparents, they’re still parents.  Little Jennifer is just now on the cusp of childhood.

Travis had been extremely apprehensive about being  dad to a young girl with gray hair, but the more he did it, the less of an issue it became.  Jennifer was sweet and quiet, almost as if she knew her parents couldn’t quite keep up with a rambunctious toddler.  It could also be because the house was quite small and there wasn’t much room to run around.  With his new position and a ‘security deposit’ from an unnamed source, Travis had been looking around at houses.  Marla was eager to move back to the neighborhood she grew up in–Boreal Springs.

Kit came over with Sade for one last gander at the house she grew up in.  Of course, Sade was much too busy playing with the cats to bother feeling the nostalgia.  Her response was that it was a good move for them.  After all, this was the same place Travis had cheated on Marla with Katarina.  Kit had always known about that, but she would have preferred it if her best friend kept a tighter lip about it.

They were also over for Jennifer’s birthday.  She was a big girl now, able to do things on her own.  She also seemed to have a burst of energy, running around the house, terrorizing the cats and her parents.  It was a good thing the house they had contracted to be built in Boreal Springs was ready.  Marla wasn’t sure how much longer this tiny house could hold the tornado of youth that was Jennifer.

She also admired her older, gorgeous sister quite a bit.  She told her mother often she wanted to have as many ‘best friends’ as Kit did.  Marla sighed.  She didn’t have the heart to tell Jennifer that her older sister slept around to ‘attain’ those best friends…

The new house was gorgeous and roomy.  Marla had never lived in anything like it before.  She was quite ecstatic.  Travis, too, was happy.  Finally, he had a home to reflect his wealth.  Everyone knew that the rich people moved to Boreal Springs to build big houses.  Well, except select few… those who lived in Aperture were usually tied to crime.  Travis needed to distance himself, for the sake of his family and his reputation.  Dealing with Gordon was lucrative indeed, but he needed to keep a low profile or he’d get an unpleasant night visit.

After all the furniture and everything was situated, things settled down for the family.  Jennifer had more than ample room to run around, and she had a backyard.  There were also children everywhere for her to play with.  All in all, it was a good choice.  Marla tried not to think where all the money had come from, nor how the construction had been completed so… quickly.  She just sat back and enjoyed the luxury.

Besides, she was too preoccupied trying to sort out her eldest daughter, Kit.  Kit was an anomoly.  She had a great mind, very sharp, yet she degraded herself continually by just sleeping around.  Marla worried it was the fued she had with Katarina Anderson coming back to haunt her.  Recently, she’d heard that Kit was involved with no less than three people–Claude Saunders, James Yu, and Marcus Yu.

“You need to sort out your life, Kit,” Marla warned her one evening.  “I’m worried about you.  James is a good boy, he really likes you, he always has.  Do you think he’ll stand for you dating around?  He could easily go and find someone else.”

Kit sighed.  She wasn’t in the mood.  She had just seen Claude and the fact he was a vampire still… bothered her.  “Mom, please.  I’m fine, okay?”

“But I heard you were messing with Marcus Yu now, too!  What are you thinking, Kit?”

“That was… I don’t know, but it isn’t serious.  It only happened once.  Look, mom, I’m fine, okay?  If you need anymore help with the stores, let me know, but I gotta go.  It’s a long drive back to Aperture.  Love you, I’ll call you tomorrow.”

And with that, she exited.  Marla sighed.

—————————–

Note from Mao: Kit is INSANE.  I’ve never had a Knowledge sim like her.  She brought Marcus Yu with her and just, BAM.  Within seconds, steamy makeouts… WHAT?  Seriously, WHAT?  Oh boy.  This girl, I tell you.  Poor James.  And yes, I moved Marla and co to a new, extravagant house!  They needed it–they had tons of cash and that townhouse was way, way too cramped.  Jennifer scares me.  She jumps on the bed constantly.

Saunders 2 – Round 22: ‘Carpe Diem, Baby, Pt. 3′

Gordon Saunders is comfortable in his position of power over Boreal Springs and Aperture, unfortunately, it often puts his family at risk.  Lauren is furious when Claude returns home looking much like his father–pale and with fangs.

“I thought you said nothing happened at University, Claude,” Gordon began, his voice stern.

Claude tried to play it off, “nothing really did.”

“Claude, you’re a vampire.  You call that nothing?” Gordon snapped, unable to keep his composure.

“Well, I mean, yeah… but it’s not so bad.  I mean, I’ve got a handle on it.  I’ll live.”

Gordon sighed and sat down next to Claude, trying to find the proper words.  It was difficult.  He couldn’t exactly say ‘no, you’re not allowed to be a vampire’, he was one.  If it was okay for him, why not Claude?  What a mess this was.  Worst of all, Gordon knew this wasn’t an accident.  Someone had done this on purpose.

“Who did this to you, Claude?  Was it another vampire?”

Claude hesitated.  Should he say it was Emily?  She had disappeared shortly after.  He paused a moment before finally saying, “yeah, another vampire.  She was… one of my–”

“I see,” Gordon said, standing up.  “What was her name?  If you don’t tell me, I’ll find out anyway.  Make this simpler, Claude.”

“Emily.”

“You’d better fix this, Gordon!” Lauren raged later that night after seeing her son.  “My baby is a vampire! He has fangs, Gordon!  He’s not a criminal, and he certainly has no business in any of this past the misfortune of being related to you! You’d better fix this!”

“I will, Lauren,” Gordon said between her seemingly endless stream of words, “I’ll fix it.”

“When, Gordon?  NOW! My baby is not being some weird night creature!  This is all your fault–all of it.  You and your criminals and revenge, grudges, whatever.  I don’t even care what it takes, just fix this!

Gordon grumbled, “you think I’m not aware of that little fact?  I’ll fix it, I will, I promise.”

Lauren spent the next several hours going between fawning over Claude–who had always been a bit of a momma’s boy–and yelling at Gordon.  Finally, she exhausted herself enough for Gordon to put his plan into action.  He dialed the number into the phone and was met with a sleepy voice.

‘Gordon?  Do you know what time it is?!’

“Sorry, Lilith, this is important.  Claude’s a vampire.”

‘Er… bad, right?  This is a bad thing?’

“Yes, it’s bad!  Now, listen.  I need you to use your… weird contacts and get me something to help him.”

‘My ‘weird’ contacts?  Have you finally lost your mind, Gordon?  I can’t just wiggle my fingers and POOF, instant vamp b’ gone.’ She inhaled deeply and finally said, ‘I’ll see what I can do, okay?  But no promises.’

Meanwhile, Claude was adjusting to life as a vampire pretty well, now that he had his father’s guidance.  He was surprised one evening by Kit stopping by.  He hadn’t seen her since they both graduated from University.  She had moved into the same apartment building as Sade and Michael.  She also chopped off her hair.  Claude barely recognized her–she looked good, happy.

“I see you’re still a vampire,” she joked.  “How’s that working out for you?”

“It’s not too bad, but my mother doesn’t care for it.”

“I just, I mean, I wanted to see how you were doing.  Since the whole, well, vampire thing.”

Claude invited her in and she was grateful.  It was pretty cold out.  Once they were in, though, Claude started with his charm.  She instantly pushed him away, giving him a terrible scowl.  Claude, even being a vampire, was a little frightened.

“Agh!  I’m not here for that Claude.  I just wanted to see how you were doing.  You’re such a jerk.”

“What?  I’m sorry, Kit.  But, well, it’s always been–”

“Well, it’s not now.  So, stop it,” the words didn’t reach her eyes.  She stomped out.

Gordon had Emily in his clutches.  He had pulled her off the street effortlessly, thanks to his contacts.  She was hiding from someone, flushed out from her clan and all alone in the big, bad world.  She was a little shocked when she awoke in Gordon’s basement.

“You, you’re the one who turned my son.  Why?” Gordon wasted no time mincing words.

“Your son?”

“Claude.  Don’t play stupid with me.  Tell me why, why did you turn him?  And don’t lie–I know he didn’t ‘want it’.  You did it on your own.”

“I-I… can’t.  I’ll be killed!”  She looked terrified suddenly, as if the walls were enemies, too.  “I can’t say anything.  I can’t.”

“Someone hired you to track down my son, didn’t they?  You’ve been watching him awhile.  You got into a relationship with him and you used it to get close enough to turn him.  Why?  Who put you up to it?”

“I can’t!” She shrieked.

“You can’t, because someone will kill you?  I’ll throw you out into the sunlight if you don’t tell me right now!

Emily’s eyes widened considerably.  She looked terrified.  After a moment, she finally said, “if I tell you, will you still kill me?  Your son will be upset… he cares about me.”

“Claude cares about a lot of women, one less won’t hurt him,” Gordon replied coldly.  “Now tell me.”

“Okay, okay… it was Roman Anderson.  He’s the one you want, not me.  I feel bad, I do.  I liked–I like Claude.  A lot.  I felt horrible afterwards, but Roman, he was going to… I mean, I couldn’t say no.  I’m sorry.  I’m sorry!

——————————————

Note from Mao: Bad Roman, very bad Roman!  And now the truth comes out.  ;b  Back when Countess Emily first ran into Claude when he was a teen, it was too convenient not to run with.  It was after Gordon and Roman’s deal had gone sour.  What better revenge than to mess with the heir?  Hehe.

B.S.U. Campus – ‘Carpe Diem, Baby, Pt. 1′

Claude Saunders and Kit Knight have been at University two years now and have developed a sort of ‘understanding.’  Now joined by Marcus and Shelly Yu, they’re forced to be a bit more discrete.  Worse yet, James Yu has also come trailing along, his sights set on Kit.

James didn’t waste any time tracking down Kit.  He found her eating some burned grilled cheese–she had never been much of a culinary master, despite her mother’s skill.  He took a seat next to her and immediately launched into his anti-Claude propaganda.

“What are you doing with Claude, Kit?”

She gave him a look, “does everyone know about it?  Stupid Sade and her big mouth…”

“Forget Sade,” James interrupted, “Claude Saunders, Kit?  You’re smarter than that.”

“So what?  What’s it matter to you, James?  If you think insulting me is going to win me over, you’re wrong.”

Shelly and Marcus arrived sometime later, also greeted by the burnt grilled cheese sandwiches.  It had been a long drive and they were both hungry, so they didn’t complain.  Shelly wasn’t really sure what she was going to do now that she was University.  She knew she wanted to make lots of money, but now the how or the why.  She kind of missed her rivalry with Isolde and maybe Cole, too.

Marcus was just thankful to be away from their grieving mother.  Grief wasn’t really his thing.  He missed his father, true, but he was a guy, and guys really aren’t into tears.

Claude, meanwhile, found himself catching up with an all-too-familiar face.  The strange woman from the bar turned out to be an exotic blonde who was suddenly in his age range.  He wasn’t entirely sure how that worked, she didn’t look a day older than when they had first met years prior.  She contacted him suddenly, and he hadn’t bothered to ask how she got his number.  She was hot, what else mattered?

The funny accent certainly helped, too.

Kit, however, wasn’t nearly as impressed with the supposed ‘Countess’.  While the thing between her and Claude wasn’t serious, she refused to believe his involvement with this mysterious blonde was a good idea.  Common sense wasn’t exactly Claude’s forte and he missed the obvious signs.  As the Countess slunk away, Kit glared at her and then leveled her gaze on Claude.

“Geeze, Kit, don’t be so jealous,” was all he could manage.

“Don’t be such an idiot, Claude!” She roared, wanting to hit him, but restraining herself.  “There’s something wrong with her.  Can’t see it?”

“Not from here,” he said, watching her leave a little too closely.

Kit sighed.

At least she had some repose with James.  He was younger, yes, but it was so nice to have someone around that seemed to be from the same planet as she was.  He had always been intelligent, perhaps even more so than she, but his age had always been a deterrent.  Not to mention that Kit really never paid much attention to boys in school, either.  She left that mostly to Sade.  Now free of her best friend’s nattering, she found herself falling under James’ sway.  It was just as well, as Claude was overly preoccupied with his crazy blonde.

Claude didn’t think there was anything off about Emily.  Sure, she was pale, she had a funny accent, and she only came around in the dark… but everyone had their quirks, right?  Maybe he was just desensitized because of his father.  Of course, Claude knew exactly what his father was… maybe that’s why he had such a hard time realizing what Emily was.  It didn’t matter.  He liked her a lot more than he liked all the other girls he’d found.  She seemed to feel the same and so all was well in Claude’s mind.

It didn’t take long for Kit to educate James to the way of college.  She liked him enough, sure, but she wasn’t completely serious.  He was, of course, but Kit couldn’t have known that or maybe she wouldn’t have been as aggressive.  She simply thought they were friends with a mutual arrangement.  Kit wasn’t entirely sure why she wasn’t really into commitment, only that she wasn’t.  Poor James.

Claude got the awakening of his life late one night while he was on the balcony with Emily.  It had been like every other visit, they talked, spent time together, and went outside a lot.  This time, however, she led him purpousfully to the balcony.  When she was sure they were alone, she began to act strangely.  Claude couldn’t really remember much of what happened next, only that he woke up a few days later feeling really funny and Emily was gone.  He tried contacting her several times to no avail.  It was almost as if she had completely disappeared.

It was close to graduation and while Claude tried to hide the changes he now recongnized as vampirism, he couldn’t hide from Kit.  She snuck into the unused upstairs bedroom to find a coffin.  Her suspicions were confirmed.  She drug James up there, much to his chagrin.

“What is this supposed to prove, Kit?”

“Claude’s been turned into a vampire, obviously,” she said, as if James had been suddenly struck dumb.  “That idiot, I told him not to mess with that blonde weirdo…”

James sighed, “Why do you care, Kit?  It isn’t your problem anymore.  You’re graduating soon.  Come on, let’s go downstairs.”

When the time came to leave University, Kit would leave alone.  She planned to leave in the afternoon the next day, while Claude made separate arrangements.  He really didn’t look forward to the phone call, but knew he didn’t have a choice.

“I’m fine dad, really.  I don’t see why you’re so worried, it’s just University… what’s the worst that could happen?  No, I’m sure.  Nothing’s wrong.  I just have some things to do.  I’ll see you in the morning.  Tell mom not to worry.  Okay, yeah, I know.  Bye.  See you then.”

Claude was not looking forward to his homecoming, but he had no idea what else to do.  Only his father would know anything about what he’d become and even if he had to face his wrath, it’d be better than going through it blind and ignorant.

Note from Mao: Shelly and Marcus will have a bigger part in the next round of Uni, no worries.  As for Claude and Kit and James… ugh.  Three bolt love triangle.  HOW?  I do not know, so don’t ask.  Claude is obsessed with Emily, though, much to Gordon’s chagrin.  It’s the reason he’s a danged vampire.  Revenge plot or stupid luck?  We’ll see.  Sorry it’s taken me so long to update… holidays, sickness, work… you get the picture.

B.S.U. Campus – Round 20: ‘Sade’s Diary, End’

From Sade’s Online Diary, pulled from SIMplygorgeous.simjournal.com:

Well, here I am, at University.  Don’t expect any great stuff because to be honest, this place is horrible! All they do is nag about books and reading!  What do I look like, a nerd? Even the campus boys can tell I’m much better than silly homework, though I kind of wish they’d stop outright whistling and trying to get my phone number.  Please, really?  I don’t think so.  Not even if any of them were the last source of a compliment on the planet!

I guess I should mention that Kit and Claude are here, too.

Not that it matters much that they are here.  They’re both too busy doing their own things.  Kit actually studies–ha!–and Claude, well, Claude does what he’s always done.  I’d really like if he’d go and do it somewhere else, though.  My gorgeous and delicate nature aren’t meant to be surrounded by silly university hormones.  Yuck.  Isn’t it bad enough they’re making me read books?!

Kit has tried to ‘help’ me, but her idea of help is telling me to do the work.  What kind of help is that?  She lectures me all the time on how I’m going to get kicked out for running off to Aperture for days on end.  So?  It’s better than being here.  She thinks I don’t know her ‘little secret’, but I do.  Everyone thinks I’m some idiot with a gorgeous face.  One part of that is true and I’ll give you no guesses–the gorgeous part!  I am not stupid and I wasn’t born yesterday.  How did they think I wouldn’t find out?

Claude and Kit think they’re being sneaky, but I know better.  Not that I want to!  I used to soak in that hot tub–ewww!  Do you know what kind of nightmares I have now?  No wonder I have to run off to Aperture!

Okay, so it’s mostly to avoid the assignments–they’re horrible!  How am I supposed to know this stuff?  I’m actually kind of glad Patrick sent me packing over to Michael’s.  At least he is smart enough to do them for me.  Sure it took awhile to convince him, but now he doesn’t even question it!  Not that it matters, I forget to hand them in anyway.  That means I have to go to class!  Ew!

See?  I told you that I soaked in that hot tub!  Gross, huh?  As you can see, the annoying boys just won’t leave me alone! Give me a break.  Gross.  Can’t they see I’mfar above them and they’ll never have any hopes of truly basking in my gorgeousness?  As if they’d know what to do with it if they ever did!

Besides, I’m pretty sure I can get Michael to see things my way.  I just need some more time… and Fou-Lu gone.  That shouldn’t be too hard.

Apparently this university can’t handle my gorgeous.  Neither can this journal.  It’s time to face facts–I’m much too gorgeous for all of this.  So it’s time to say goodbye!

But first, I have to make a phone call… there’s no way I can let my parents find out about this!

Note from Mao: Poor Sade barely made it through those first two years!  She really hates college, LOL.  She never had any college-related wants.  I made her do an assignment once and it took forever.  Can you guess where she went?  I’m sure you don’t have to. :D   The Claude and Kit thing?  Casual, completely casual.  Mutual attraction, but no basis for a relationship.  But isn’t that what college is all about?  Hahaha…

Oh and sorry there’s no portrait at the top.  I messed up and moved Sade out before I grabbed it, so her makeover was complete.  D’oh.

Knight – Round 20: ‘And She Was, End’

Marla and Travis Knight have survived a slight “snag” in their marriage and have a lovely and brilliant daughter, Kit, who is ready to go to University.

Kit had spent many late nights working on her latest obsession–the stars and space.  She couldn’t quite explain the thrill to anyone else, but she certainly felt it when she gazed up at the endless sky.  It was just inconceivable to think that there wasn’t life out there.  She was determined to find out.

She made a makeshift “beacon” out of the large and expensive telescope her parents had gifted her.  She spent many late nights trying to contact “outside life.”

Travis, meanwhile, was enjoying his new job as DA.  Mary O’Hanlon left some big shoes to fill, but he was determined to do just that.  He had clawed his way to the top and he was intent to keep himself king of the hill.  There was some messy business involving a crime organization that weighed heavily on his mind, but somehow, he wasn’t too concerned with it.

Kit was surprised when she finally met her visitors from the endless beyond.  She was lifted off the ground and floated weightlessly into what looked like a gigantic metal plate with flashing lights.  It was unfortunate that when she returned, she remembered nothing of what happened after that.

She did manage to earn a scholarship for it, though.  Sure, they deemed her story ‘creative writing’, but thought it was so well done that she certainly deserved some money.  Kit was determined to prove it wasn’t fiction.

Marla was in for her own surprise.  She and Travis had never planned on having anymore kids, but life has a funny way of surprising you.  Marla was pregnant.  She hadn’t even realized it until late.  She was older and so, she had to be more careful, but she was happy.  Kit was a wonderful child and she’d miss her.  Now she had something to keep her occupied.

Travis was too busy to really react.  He was hoping for a boy, but that’s about as much time as he could invest in the new baby.  It would seem that the criminal organization was a bigger threat and problem that he previously realized.  It was becoming time consuming and annoying to deal with.  Travis was a man of means and he really didn’t see any real way to topple this behemoth.  No, there had to be another way to deal with it…

Kit was in her senior year when she befriended James Yu.  He was a nice kid and he shared her interest for the ‘visitors’.  Unfortunately, he seemed to take their relationship has something more.  Kit was several years older and generally uninterested.  She tried to let him down kindly, but he insisted that age was just a number.

That may be true, but University was not a number and it was quite a distance.  She bid her friend farewell and hopped into a cab with Sade O`Hanlon.

Before Kit even got settled at Boreal Summit University, little Jennifer Knight was born.  Marla was overjoyed to have another girl.  She followed the same pattern of looks as her sister, but she had Marla’s brown hair.

Note from Mao: I didn’t anticipate them having another kid at all.  Curse you, risky woohoo!  I miss InTeen, LOL.  Oh, and a bonus shot of Kit, post-abduction.  Hilarious!  Bosco ran out after she landed and proceeded to give that UFO what for.

Knight – Round 19: ‘And She Was, Pt. 2′

Marla and Travis have managed to make it past Travis’ ‘little indiscretion’ with Katarina Anderson.  Their daughter Kit has grown up into a lovely young lady with good business sense.

Kit: Sade, if you get this, I’m still alive.  I managed to smuggle my Blackberry to this trip from the seven circles of Hell.  I’m sending you this email while I hide in the sauna.  Whew.  It’s pretty hot in here.  It feels like I’m sweating off my skin.  But it’s the only place I know my parents won’t look for me, so I gotta be quick.

Things have been pretty uneventful here in the land of weird.  You know how you see all those ninjas on TV and stuff?  Well, apparently, they exist here.  I know because I spoke to one and he taught me this cool little trick.  Don’t worry, I’ll show you when I get back.  If you are dead set on being an actress, this is one move you won’t want to miss.

Of course, you know why we’re here.  Mom is doing ‘research’ for new dishes at her restaurant.  The foot here isn’t too bad, but I don’t know.  It really isn’t my thing.  I didn’t really get the talent in the culinary arts that mom has.  You’d probably like it, though.  Bunch of rice and vegetables and stuff.  I know how you are about “diets”.

And before you ask, no, there really weren’t any hot guys.  I mean, there were, but they were older.  One guy looked really familiar to me and I couldn’t figure out why.  So that kind of killed the attraction factor.  It was just so weird, like I’d seen him somewhere before.

I did find that I can make a killing off playing Mahjong for money!  I’m a regular, uh, tile shark?

I tried to check out this neat little shrine but all I got for my effort was attacked by BEES!  You know how I hate bees.  What a horrible trip it’s been!  I just want to go home.  I have to finish my studies and I’m hardly prepared for University yet… have you decided if you’re going yet or not?  Actresses still need to go to University and it’d be nice to have someone I know there, too.

Oh, and I know you think that helicopters are just glamorous… but they’re not.  They are noisy and annoying.  We took one on a tour and it was crazy.  I hope I never have to travel in one again!

One more thing before I go (I swear, I’m going to die in here.  It’s so HOT!), I learned this really cool technique.  It’s like ‘dance exercise’ or something.  Anyway, I’ll show you when I get home.  It’ll be good for you to ‘tighten up’ for those close-ups.  Body doubles are for sissies.  Okay, time to go before this thing melts in here.

-Kit

—————–

Note from Mao: Contrary to Kit’s perspective, they had a good vacation and she has a ton of memories.  I wasn’t going to write this from Kit’s POV, but she seemed to be the focal point of the vacation and I kept hearing her quips in my head as they happened, so there you go.  I have been caught up with my gamplay for the past few updates, that’s why they’ve been slow.  Sorry!  I haven’t been feeling too well, so things might be a little slow.  Maybe.

Anderson 3 – Round 19: ‘Sade’s Diary, Pt. 1′

Nathaniel and Sara are happily married, but their children give them cause for worry. Sade has grown into a lovely young lady, but she seems a little too aware of it. Cole, too, is older, but still a bit… odd.

From Sade’s Online Diary, pulled from SIMplygorgeous.simjournal.com:

So, unless you’ve been living under a rock or something, you know I’m a teenager now and fully independent in the most awesome of ways. That’s right, world, you better watch out… because one look at me and you’ll drop dead! I’m just that gorgeous.

Unfortunately, gorgeous people like myself have problems, too… like my parents…

They are all… old now. Like, really old. They look like they should be grandparents! I doubt that will ever happen. My big brother Patrick is a total jerk when it comes to women. But I guess not having grandchildren doesn’t keep you from looking like an old person. Ew. I hope they don’t like, suddenly starting going to bingo or anything now. That’s just… ew.

Enough about them, though. Back to ME! Of course, all the boys at school are dying to take me out, and why shouldn’t they? But I have no interest in high school boys. They’re such losers, seriously. I’m not your average teenage girl, I’ve got class… more than most of my peers will ever have in their lifetimes! So, yeah, no thanks. And stop staring, seriously, you’re drooling and that’s disgusting.

I’m not an idiot, I know it’s totally wrong but Michael Saunders is just so… I don’t know. Not hot, that’s just… that’s like calling me hot, and I’m not hot, I’m drop dead gorgeous. He’s just… well, he’s the only one who matches me, you know? We’re too pretty for everyone else. He came home with Patrick one evening and… I haven’t seen him since we found out we were related.

He’s a couple of years older than me, but age isn’t anything but a number! Look at him! I mean, are second cousins really that related? Don’t give me that look! You’d feel the same way, too, if you such a hot second cousin. His half-brother Claude is just the same way… but not like Michael. College guys are so much more appealing.

I hate my life. Why am I related to all the pretty guys?!

Enough about that, I guess. I mentioned it once to mom and she got this horrified look on her face. Then she gave me this long lecture on incest and what it is and bla bla. I KNOW what it is, gosh. Anyway, she is all upset because Patrick is spending his days at college sleeping with all the girls. What did she expect? I told you he was a jerk!

Cole isn’t a jerk like Patrick, but he sure is annoying! All he talks about are video games and silly kid stuff. Does he seriously think I’m interested? Please. He and Patrick think they are just so special because they have the purple skin, but special isn’t nearly as good as gorgeous, which is what I am. I would change my name to that if it weren’t so cheesy.

At least I have my cousin Kit to keep me sane. Like I said, I am related to all the pretty people. Kit and I are on the same level, we understand one another, and what our status in this place entitles us to. Of course, she’s a bit of a tomboy and I totally do not understand why. I’ve tried to help her, but it’s just so hopeless. Oh well, maybe she can get married and have babies! Haha, and I’ll be living the life of starlet!

Cole is being such a brat! He keeps reading over my shoulder, so it looks like have to go. Ugh! My parents need to just give me a computer in my room. Like I would be so crass as to post stupid videos of me dancing half naked to hip hop music. Like I said, I have class. Oh well. Until next time.

~~Sade~~

—————-

Note from Mao: Sade cracks me up so much and yes, Michael and Patrick came over for a visit. I completely forgot that Sade and Michael still had the crush flag (they flirted and kissed as teens before I realized they were related). Such a shame!
