Saunders 3 – Round 21: ‘Haunting Me, Pt. 1′

Michael Saunders is trying to keep to himself, but between Fou-Lu’s problems and Sade O`Hanlon forcing herself constantly into his life, he’s finding it incredibly hard to do so.

“A cat, really, F0u-Lu?” Michael grumbled.  “In an apartment, no less.”

“You got something against cats?”

“Not at all, but seeing as you didn’t even ask me beforehand–”

“It’s for Emma, no big deal.  It won’t be here long.  I promise.”

Behind them, Sade was already cooing over the cat, “It’s so cute!”

“Don’t even start,” Michael said quickly, looking over Fou-Lu’s shoulder at Sade.  “A cat is one thing, but you?”

“Awww, c’mon, don’t be a scrooge.  You gonna kick a cat and a girl out on the street?”

Of course, Michael was a loner, but he wasn’t heartless.  He didn’t kick Sade out or the cat.  He tolerated them both as well as anyone could hope to.  Especially when Sade refused to leave him alone.  She had a job, this much he knew, but what and when it took place, he couldn’t say.

“You can’t avoid me forever,” Sade said daringly, eyes narrowed as if plotting something devious.  “I don’t see why you even bother.”

“Some of us have a sense of decency,” Michael replied, though defeat was obvious in his voice and face.  “I don’t see why you have to be so… pushy.”

She smiled at this, “Maybe because you’re shy and I like watching you twitch.”

Meanwhile, Elena and Fou-Lu weren’t quite having the same issues.  Elena visited frequently, both with and without Emma.  While they had both tried to be as casual as they could, old habits die hard.  Elena found herself reliant on Fou-Lu constantly being there.  She began to wonder if perhaps her own doubts had just been fear.  Fou-Lu was immature, but he tried, and he’d grown, despite himself.  Keeping him away was hurting Emma.

Perhaps there was something to be said for second chances.

Sade’s techniques needed definite work.  Michael was resisting her as fervently as ever and it was frustrating.  Worse yet, when she tried to back off and attempt more subdued methods, she failed.  Burning breakfast was only the beginning.  She decided to quit before she burnt the entire apartment down around them.  Why did he have to be so stubborn? Had Sade hit on anyone else, they’d have been flattered and smitten instantly.  She was Sade, after all.  Gorgeous, and while not skilled in the culinary arts, extremely good arm candy.  What the heck was wrong with Michael?

Elena was trying to figure out just that.  In her visits, she’d noticed what was going on and decided to confront her step-brother about it.  He was reluctant to talk, but Elena knew him and his weaknesses.  He had no choice.

“If you don’t like her, just tell her so she leaves you alone,” Elena said, trying to be sisterly, but her annoyance was obvious.  “What you’re doing is just mean, Michael.”

“I’m not trying to be mean,” Michael said sadly, unsure of what else to say, really.  “I just, I mean.  I don’t get it.  I was supposed to be alone, right?  And I keep getting lost in these situations and I’m surrounded by people and I just–”

Elena rolled her eyes, “accept it.  Life isn’t what you want.  You take what you can get.  You think I wanted to get knocked up in college?  But I love Emma, and I wouldn’t go back and change it.  Who says you have to be alone?  Being weird doesn’t mean you’re not like the rest of us.  You were born that way, Michael, and we all except it.  Why can’t you?”

“…I don’t know.”

“Well, figure it out quick.  Sade may be full of herself, but you are who you are.  Girls won’t exactly fall over themselves for you forever, Michael.  Not once they figure out how truly strange you are.  Sade knows and doesn’t care.  For some reason, she likes it.  Don’t take advantage of that acceptance.”

Michael tried to take Elena’s advice to heart, but his personality was what it was.  He couldn’t change that and so he simply avoided Sade as best he could.  She eventually cornered him and instead of being annoyingly pushy, she approached him carefully.

“Will you come with me?  I want to take a walk, but it’s dark…” Her confidence was faltering, but she hid it well.  “Someone like me?  I’ll get kidnapped if I go alone.  Please?  I’ll be good, I promise.”

He sighed.  His first response was to refuse, he did have to work early in the morning and it was already nine.  Who goes for walks at nine when its cold?  But he was weird in his own way, too.

“Fine, but this better not be a trick.”

“Of course not!” She grinned suddenly, taking his hand and pulling him towards the door.  “Let’s go!”

They walked to the park, which was surprisingly populated for it being so late at night.  Sade moved instantly to the brightly colored swings, flopping down on one of the plastic seats that dangled helplessly from the chains.  It rattled beneath her weight and creaked as she moved.

“Swings, Sade?” Michael asked incredulously.  “You brought me out here to swing?”

She stuck her tongue out at him, “what’s wrong with swings?  Don’t be such an old man, Michael.  You’re barely thirty!  Everyone loves swings.”

“So says the twenty-something who dropped out of college,” Michael grumbled, giving her a small push, the creaking of the chains worrying him.  “Is this even safe?

“Don’t you ever stop?  It’s fine!  Now push harder, that last one was lame.  It’s not like I weigh a ton,” she laughed, dainty and yet mocking all the same.  “Unless you’re too weak–”

The push she receieved sent her high into the air, eliciting a sudden squeal.  She gripped the chains hard, coming back down, scuffing her feet against the dirt and digging her heels in.  As the fear dissipated, she laughed and was surprised when it intermixed with Michael’s own laughter from behind her.

As they moved to leave, Sade stopped and turned to Michael, her face twisted in mock anger.

“You tried to kill me,” she said, laughing, unable to keep up the guise.

“Obviously not hard enough,” he countered, surprising her.

She moved towards him, dangerously close, arms catching him by surprise, “ooh, that would be scary… you know, if you weren’t so meek!”

“I scared you, didn’t I?”

Instead of replying, she took the opportunity and kissed him.  It had been nearly ten years since this scenario had played itself out in the basement of Michael’s childhood home.  Of course, then it had been awkward and much shorter.  Neither had gained any experience, but adulthood tends to change things nonetheless.

Note from Mao: Sorry this is long.  Sade and Michael drive me nuts.  Seriously.  Sade is push, push, push and Michael is running away like a scared little boy.  He’s 100% shy, she’s 100% outgoing.  The mixture of the two is VOLATILE.  Sade also fails at cooking.  FAILS.  Fou-Lu is moving out to join Elena the next round, hooray.  Here’s hoping it lasts, lol.

Saunders 3 – Round 20: ‘You Turn the Screws, Pt. 5′

Michael Saunders is happy to be out of University, but is a little unsure about dealing with Fou-Lu and Elena’s messy situation.

Michael found an apartment quickly in Aperture.  It wasn’t hard, it seemed as if they were going up all over the place.  Fou-Lu came with him.  He felt bad about the whole thing between him and Elena and he knew that Fou-Lu deserved to know the truth, even if he was a bit immature.  So Michael took it upon himself to make things right.

Elena had called him not too long after they moved in and said she was willing to come over.

Michael passed the news onto Fou-Lu, warning him against any of his silliness.  Fou-Lu simply laughed him off, wondering what Michael was talking about.

“I’m only telling you because I don’t want you to die of shock,” Michael began, his voice taciturn, “Elena left because she was pregnant.  You have a daughter, Fou-Lu.”

Fou-Lu’s only reaction was uproarious laughter.  When he finally finished, the look he gave Michael bordered on ridiculous.  He obviously thought this was all a big joke, “very funny, Michael.  She couldn’t keep that a secret for years!”

“And yet she did,” Michael replied, not sharing in his friend’s amusement, “She’ll be over soon.  Compose yourself.  If you mess this up, I’m kicking you out.”

Just as Michael expected, Elena arrived an hour or so later with little Emma in her arms.  Michael had already seen his niece several times and so wasn’t surprised by how much she had grown.  He made sure to warn Elena, though.

“This is going to be a shock, so don’t be surprised if he doesn’t react well.”

Elena sighed, “I don’t even know why I’m doing this.”

“Because it’s the right thing to do.  Come in, you can’t delay the inevitable any longer…”

Fou-Lu wasn’t nearly as shocked as Elena had anticipated, leading her to believe that her brother may have betrayed her confidences.  She let it slide and instead introduced Fou-Lu to Emma.  The resemblance was remarkable, there was no denying she was his daughter.  Elena was a little upset that little Emma didn’t seem to look anything at all like her, except for her thick hair.

Instead of being angry or upset, Fou-Lu took Emma and began to play with her.  He joked around and was casual, it put Elena at ease.  She was sure he would demand to know where they stood.  Instead, he focused on Emma.  Visits would become a common occurence.  Michael had been right, Emma needed to know her father, even if he was a child himself.

As if dealing with that situation wasn’t enough, Michael was surprised to answer his door one afternoon only to find Patrick O`Hanlon outside.  He said little to Michael before shoudlering his way in, forcing Michael to close the door and follow him, apprehension written on his face.  Patrick and Michael had always been friends… but tense ones.  Sade was a major factor in this.

“Michael, you’ve got to help me,” Patrick said, his voice low and conspiratorial.  “Sade is driving me crazy! She’s flaking out on University and staying at my place and now I’ve got a guest, and well, I need her to get lost.  She’s my sister and all, but she’s driving me insane!”

Was Patrick kidding?  Michael hoped his surprise didn’t show on his face.  He certainly didn’t want Sade here, not for all the money in the world.  That was dangerous.

“I really don’t think that’s a good idea–”

“Why not?” Patrick interrupted, clapping him on the arm, “I’ve always trusted you, Michael.  You’re the only one who can do this for me.  You and Fou-Lu can keep an eye on her while I regain my sanity.  Come on, how can you turn me down?”

He was right, how could he?  With a heavy sigh, Michael relented.

It took a weekend for Sade to pop up.  Michael had returned from running some errands to find the house empty–Fou-Lu had been spending a lot of time with Elena and Emma lately.  He walked into his room only to find Sade.  It was hard not to notice that she definitely wasn’t a teenager and while she was still a little younger than him, the gap was a lot smaller now.  She smiled, as if she was completely oblivious to the fact she was missing most of her clothes.  What had happened to him and what was she doing?

“Sade, what are you doing?” He demanded, looking past her and out the window.

She laughed and patted the bed, “Patrick told me to come here.  So I made myself comfortable!”

Michael said nothing.  He simply turned around and exited the room.  Sade watched him go, frowning.  Well, that obviously didn’t work.

Sade continued to drop in uninvited, but kept her clothes on for the most part.  Michael avoided her as often as he could, which wasn’t hard.  His job had him traveling a lot.  He spent a lot of time going to Universities and lecturing on physics and aiding with certain research.  It was pretty much nerd work, but he made quite a bit at it, which was how he could afford housing two other people who didn’t pay a single bit of rent.

He would have to call Patrick and let him know that this wasn’t going to work out.  He’d have to take care of Sade himself.  Did Patrick truly have no idea what he had done by putting her here?

Note from Mao: Oh my GOD, ACR has made my sims go crazy.  Sade on the bed?  ACR DID IT, LOL!  ACR has decreed that Michael and Sade are each one’s One True Sim… which equals hilarity and awkwardness.  Fortunately, Michael is a more shy person and so it’s usually Sade chasing him around and trying to flirt/etc.  Oh geeze.  ACR has made my sims into horny teenagers, LOL.  Don’t even ask me what happened when Elena and Fou-Lu were left alone in the apartment…

Saunders 2 – Round 20: ‘You Turn the Screws, Pt. 4′

[Family image postponed until I can get SimPE functioning properly.  For some reason, sims are missing portraits and blank?  They have no portrait file!]

Elena was happily welcomed home by both Gordon and Lauren.  While Elena was not his biological daughter, Gordon treated her every bit as if she was of his own.  He had been worried about her situation with Fou-Lu and was thankful that she seemed to have gotten her head back and was persuing her dream.

Claude, meanwhile, took little notice to his half-sister rejoining the family.  He was too caught up in his romantic pursuits.  Senior year had been a whirlwind of action for him.  He was planning on going to University, so he had to get in as much time with the girls at high school as he could.  There would be newer and more mature conquests waiting for him on campus!

He was, however, amused by his mother’s constant prodding of Elena.  She was concerned about the situation with Fou-Lu, especially now.  They weren’t dating, but Lauren knew that they had been ‘seeing’ one another, despite their broken up status, in university.  Elena told her mother to mind her own business, that she was an adult, but Lauren couldn’t help but feel there was more to the story.

Michael knew better, in fact, he came over one afternoon to confront Elena.  After she and Fou-Lu had hooked up briefly in university, she had stopped calling him.  In fact, she downright refused to see him.  Michael had been shocked when this happened, but even more shocked when Elena opted out of moving into an apartment with him–as they had originally planned–and moving back home.  Now Michael was rooming with Fou-Lu and he wanted to know what was going on.

“Be quiet, Michael,” Elena hushed him, eyes narrowed.  Lauren was nearing them and she was worried she’d overhear.  “I’m already getting grilled by mom!”

“Is it any wonder?  What’s going on, Elena?  You’ve never been like this with me…”

“Just don’t worry about it, okay?  And tell Fou-Lu to stop calling.  We’re over.”

Everyone concerning themselves with Elena’s odd behavior had taken notice off Claude’s escapades.  Gordon no longer lectured him and his mother no longer sighed and looked disappointed.  He was leaving for University and the freedom would be welcome.  He’d leave Elena here to keep his parents preoccupied.

“I told you to stop calling,” Elena said harshly into the receiver.  Her hand fell on her stomach subconsciously and her heart tightened.  “I don’t want to see you, all right?  Just leave me alone.”

Fou-Lu was repentant and confused, but he eventually hung up and gave Elena her wish.  She hated to do this, but what other choice did she have?  She had found out she was pregnant shortly before leaving University.  Her dreams were crushed, the dancing troupe that had offered her a spot had revoked it.  They couldn’t wait nine months.

Elena couldn’t tell Fou-Lu, there was just no way.  He was barely responsible enough to handle a relationship, much less a baby.

B.S.U. Campus – Round 19: ‘You Turn the Screws, Pt. 3′

Patrick O`Hanlon is womanizing his way through University while Michael Saunders hits the books and keeps to himself. Elena Davis and Fou-Lu are no longer an item, but Elena is still uncertain about her decisions and Fou-Lu is hoping she reconsiders.

Patrick decided to call Elena out on her dealings with Shang Yu, “what are you thinking? I know you’ve got some semblance of a brain up there… you’re one of the few girls I know who does.”

“Gee, thanks, Patrick,” Elena replied, rolling her eyes. “And what’s it matter to you?”

“Shang and I are cut of the same cloth, Elena. Anything you two do isn’t special or serious or anything. He’s got Kat for that, he just wants you for, well, the obvious.”

“You think I don’t know that? I don’t want anything serious with him,” Elena replied, giving her nephew a pointed look. “Anyway, here’s a question for you… I’m almost afraid to ask. Are you wearing pants?”

He grinned, “what do you think?”

“Ew…”

Fou-Lu decided to try and corner Michael into helping him get Elena back. Unfortunately, the stoic and quiet half-sibling was a little less than willing.

“Elena is a big girl, she makes her own decisions.” Michael said, barely looking up from his dinner. “Besides, I’m not so sure you’re ready to get her back.”

“Huh? What’s that supposed to mean?” Fou-Lu was a little shocked by Michael’s outright bluntness.

Michael looked up, startling Fou-Lu, “you’re immature, Fou-Lu. Grow up a little and I’m sure Elena will notice. I’m only telling you this in an effort to steer you in the right direction.”

“That’s harsh, dude,” Fou-Lu replied, wounded. “Real harsh…”

Meanwhile, Michael wasn’t having much luck with dating. There was a pretty blonde girl at the house one day that Michael thought was okay looking, but he spoke to her only to find out she was one of Patrick’s many… well, ‘visitors’. He sighed and walked away. How Patrick did it, he’d never know. Michael just didn’t feel any great attraction or attachment to these women.

He kept comparing them to someone else.

Patrick was naturally smart, in fact, he was downright intelligent. But it never showed, because he used his smarts for evil and manipulation. He didn’t have to try with his grades, all his professors were female. He just smooth talked his way into an A+ everytime. He could have easily done it the proper way, but it was so much more satisfying knowing that he had enough power to influence his way to straight A’s.

Elena, knowing his fondness for red heads, set Michael up with a girl from her class. They had plenty in common and she wasn’t awful looking, but Michael just didn’t feel that spark. She had red hair, sure, but she wasn’t, well. And it just wasn’t the same.

The date went well, but afterwards, Michael felt nothing.

Meanwhile, Elena had given a lot of thought about what Patrick had said. It was silly to mess around with Shang Yu in an effort to ignore her problems. She was glad when Fou-Lu happened to be in the hot tub. She joined him and decided they needed to talk about their situation.

Fou-Lu clearly wanted Elena back and while Elena was undecided, she couldn’t deny they had a solid history.

Unfortunately, they didn’t get much of a chance to talk. Add together a hot tub, bathing suits, and two young adults and well, you don’t usually get a heartfelt conversation…

Patrick, meanwhile, was doing some ‘conversing’ of his own with quite as few of the available co-eds. They were at the last of their classes and ready to graduate, so he wanted to score with as many chicks as he could before he left. It was a personal goal he set for himself. He wouldn’t have enough time once he was signed to an agency and working on his acting skills.

Not that he hadn’t been improving those with every line and charm he’d done in the past four years.

————————-

Note from Mao: This one is all over the place, sorry. I’ve played it intermittently for a week. Anyway, they’re graduated, yay. Too bad I can’t install AL yet. Anyway, if you don’t believe me, Michael really does suck at dating. He’s nice, just shy. But that doesn’t stop him from making girls cry. Note his total disinterest in her obvious distress. Cold, Michael, cold!

Anderson 3 – Round 19: ‘Sade’s Diary, Pt. 1′

Nathaniel and Sara are happily married, but their children give them cause for worry. Sade has grown into a lovely young lady, but she seems a little too aware of it. Cole, too, is older, but still a bit… odd.

From Sade’s Online Diary, pulled from SIMplygorgeous.simjournal.com:

So, unless you’ve been living under a rock or something, you know I’m a teenager now and fully independent in the most awesome of ways. That’s right, world, you better watch out… because one look at me and you’ll drop dead! I’m just that gorgeous.

Unfortunately, gorgeous people like myself have problems, too… like my parents…

They are all… old now. Like, really old. They look like they should be grandparents! I doubt that will ever happen. My big brother Patrick is a total jerk when it comes to women. But I guess not having grandchildren doesn’t keep you from looking like an old person. Ew. I hope they don’t like, suddenly starting going to bingo or anything now. That’s just… ew.

Enough about them, though. Back to ME! Of course, all the boys at school are dying to take me out, and why shouldn’t they? But I have no interest in high school boys. They’re such losers, seriously. I’m not your average teenage girl, I’ve got class… more than most of my peers will ever have in their lifetimes! So, yeah, no thanks. And stop staring, seriously, you’re drooling and that’s disgusting.

I’m not an idiot, I know it’s totally wrong but Michael Saunders is just so… I don’t know. Not hot, that’s just… that’s like calling me hot, and I’m not hot, I’m drop dead gorgeous. He’s just… well, he’s the only one who matches me, you know? We’re too pretty for everyone else. He came home with Patrick one evening and… I haven’t seen him since we found out we were related.

He’s a couple of years older than me, but age isn’t anything but a number! Look at him! I mean, are second cousins really that related? Don’t give me that look! You’d feel the same way, too, if you such a hot second cousin. His half-brother Claude is just the same way… but not like Michael. College guys are so much more appealing.

I hate my life. Why am I related to all the pretty guys?!

Enough about that, I guess. I mentioned it once to mom and she got this horrified look on her face. Then she gave me this long lecture on incest and what it is and bla bla. I KNOW what it is, gosh. Anyway, she is all upset because Patrick is spending his days at college sleeping with all the girls. What did she expect? I told you he was a jerk!

Cole isn’t a jerk like Patrick, but he sure is annoying! All he talks about are video games and silly kid stuff. Does he seriously think I’m interested? Please. He and Patrick think they are just so special because they have the purple skin, but special isn’t nearly as good as gorgeous, which is what I am. I would change my name to that if it weren’t so cheesy.

At least I have my cousin Kit to keep me sane. Like I said, I am related to all the pretty people. Kit and I are on the same level, we understand one another, and what our status in this place entitles us to. Of course, she’s a bit of a tomboy and I totally do not understand why. I’ve tried to help her, but it’s just so hopeless. Oh well, maybe she can get married and have babies! Haha, and I’ll be living the life of starlet!

Cole is being such a brat! He keeps reading over my shoulder, so it looks like have to go. Ugh! My parents need to just give me a computer in my room. Like I would be so crass as to post stupid videos of me dancing half naked to hip hop music. Like I said, I have class. Oh well. Until next time.

~~Sade~~

Note from Mao: Sade cracks me up so much and yes, Michael and Patrick came over for a visit. I completely forgot that Sade and Michael still had the crush flag (they flirted and kissed as teens before I realized they were related). Such a shame!

B.S.U. Campus – Round 18: ‘You Turn the Screws, Pt. 2′

Filed under: Anderson,B.S.U. Campus,Davis,O`Hanlon,Saunders,Summary — Tags: , , , , , , — Mao @ 8:11 am

Zhou Yu and River Saunders have an awkward relationship, but with the addition of four others, their lives are about to get more interesting. Patrick O`Hanlon is happy to finally be free and explore his… options. Michael Saunders just wants to survive college; Elena Davis has her goal in mind, but her boyfriend Fou-Lu Yu doesn’t seem to have any ambition at all.

Elena, Michael, and Fou-Lu all traveled to University together. Michael had got stuck driving, while Elena and Fou-Lu often forgot he was in the front seat. It was a little weird to have to be in the same with car with your sister who is making out with someone you’ve known since childhood.

He was happy to be free of the confines of the car, while Elena was happy to finally be in college. Fou-Lu was just impressed with how hot Elena turned out to be.

Patrick arrived later that evening, having hitched a ride with a hot chick. Why he was so late was never put to question, as it went without asking. Patrick was pleased with his roommates, though he had wished desperately to have his own place. Still, having people to talk to was pretty cool, and he was related to some of these people, too, so meeting relatives was interesting.

It turned out Zhou wasn’t upset about Falco “flying the coop”, so to speak, and just bought about bird. It was this that brought their relationship into more official territory.

“It’s just a bird, babe,” Zhou had said, laughing. “He’s probably teaching his bird friends to swear, too. That’s cool with me.”

River chose to ignore the fact that the bird was quite possibly teaching other birds to swear and instead focus on Zhou’s unfaltering ability to be sweet.

Elena had done a lot of thinking during her time stuck in the house before coming to University. She decided to pursue her dream of being a world-famous dancer. As usual, Michael lingered in the background doing something boring and nerdy while she practiced.

It wasn’t long before Fou-Lu located her and extracted her from her practicing.

Michael had left in favor of less ‘intimate’ places while Fou-Lu pulled Elena into a hug.

“This dancing stuff isn’t so bad,” he said jokingly. “You look good in spandex.”

“Lu, stop it,” Elena scolded, though she made no move to pull away. “I have to do my exercises.”

“There are other ways of exercising if you’re that worried about it…”

She sighed, and smacked him hard on the arm, causing him to pull away. He gave her a look and broke out into laughter. She hit him again, lighter this time. He was such a joker and that worried her. Would he ever take life seriously?

As the first year came to a close, everyone fell into a routine. Michael and River had an art class together, despite their complete lack of creative skills. They found solace in one another’s company and general inepitude, muttering under their breath about the unfairness of college gen-ed courses as they hastily smeared gobs of paint on empty canvases.

Patrick and Zhou often studied together, though Zhou was horrified when his books got confused with Patrick’s. His mouth dropped when he opened the book to find a questionable picture of a co’ed… and upon dropping it, several more falling out and littering the floor.

“Dude!” Zhou said, gesticulating feverishly with his hands, unable to say anything else.

Patrick looked stunned as well, picking up a picture and admiring it, “I forgot I had this one.”

“Is that ou… our literature professor?”

Patrick grinned, snapping Zhou’s book closed and handing it over, “nice, huh?”

“Dude!!”

Saunders 2 – Round 18: ‘Blood Money, Pt. 2′

Gordon saunders, now a vampire and a criminal mastermind, has spent his life trying to balance being both a criminal and a father.  With Elena ready to leave for college, Michael entertaining thoughts about the wrong women, and Claude developing into a teen… how is supposed to handle the fact that Roman, too, is seeking him out?

“Elena’s in trooouuuuble,” Claude said in a sing-song voice, emerging from the bathroom.

“Claude, please,” Lauren interrupted, giving her son a firm look.  “Go check on the puppies.”

Once he was gone, Elena began her frantic attempt to plead innocence, “how could he know all of this anyway?  Does he have people following me?”

“Gordon and I know plenty of people, Elena, and those people have mouths.  I can’t believe you’d allow yourself to be so…” she sighed, closing her eyes.  “It doesn’t matter, it’s unacceptable and until you leave for University, you are not to leave this house.”

“But mom!”

Lauren gave her a look, “Gordon will be home in an hour–would you rather have this talk with him?”

She frowned, head hanging, “no…”

Michael Saunders had always been incredibly quiet, but Sade O`Hanlon was a welcome change from the normal.  Unfortunately, she was also entirely too related to him to ever entertain romantic thoughts about.  It was probably for the best, as she was outgoing and enjoyed being free, whereas Michael preferred the idea of settling down.

He was heading to college early, with Elena.  He had advanced a grade and passed the tests with flying colors.  Perhaps there would be someone there warranting interest.

Michael had no idea Elena was grounded until he found her seated on the couch, chowing down on leftovers late at night.

“So, grounded, huh?”

“Yeah,” she said inbetween bites.  “It sucks, but I’m thinking.”

Michael rested against the couch, “about?”

“Just stuff, Michael.  Girl stuff.”

He cringed, “enough said.”

Despite being up late, they hadn’t heard the visitor enter the downstairs, nor had they heard the door to Gordon’s private room open and close.  No one was allowed in there but him and it was always locked.  It was with a begruding sort of reluctance that Gordon welcomed his technical newphew in.

“What do you want, Roman?” Gordon wasn’t one for beating around the bush.

“I have a delicate matter on my hands and I am fully convinced that you are the only one who can rid me of it.”

Gordon’s eyes narrowed, “…murder?”

Roman nodded solemnly, “yes, precisely.  Lacie Anderson… my brother’s wife.”

“Are you nuts?” Gordon hissed, clearly displeased.  “Do you think that just because I’m a vampire and a criminal, I’ll happily prance off and stab someone?  Hardly!  I deal in business, I move and launder money, and occassionally, I bully people into paying me for protection… but murder?  My mother was Janine Saunders… you think I’m an idiot?”

Roman quirked his eyebrow, “an idiot?  No, but I would think you could see a lucrative proposition when one is given, Gordon… and what is this madness about murder?  You killed my grandfather.”

“That was different and I’d really, truly like to see you try and take that one to court.”

“I wouldn’t dare, there is no evidence, but I know you did it… and that is why I am sure you would have no problem helping me here.”

“You say you deal in business, Gordon?  I am business and in a few years, I will own everything, including the things you claim to have your hands in.” Roman stated firmly, confidence paramount in not getting bulldozed over by Gordon the Vampire.  “I can offer you a piece of that, without the trouble, the threats, everything… if you do this for me.”

Gordon couldn’t deny it’s appeal, not one bit.  He was who he was and if he dared turn this down, word would spread.  Roman would destroy him.  So, he would do this… but he’d do it his way.

“Don’t contact me again, Roman,” Gordon said waringly, his face deadpan.  “You’ll know when it’s done… and then, and only then, will we meet again.”

Roman nodded, a reply unnecessary, and slinked out of the backdoor of the house and into the taxi, driving off.

Saunders 2 – Round 17: ‘Family Business, End’

Gordon Saunders is Boreal Spring’s resident criminal mastermind and entrepreneur, Lauren was formerly Katy Saunders and quite dead. These two already make an odd couple, but will Gordon’s newest… interest only prove to heighten the strangeness? Michael misses his mother Tracey, but he’s happy to be with his dad. Elena wants to prove her worth, but she isn’t sure to who or why. Claude is just trying to keep his head above water amidst this busy and crazy family.

Lilith had been coming over to check up on Gordon for awhile now. Gordon wasn’t a trusting sort of individual, but he did trust Tsung and therefore, by default, trusted Lilith. He had to. She was the only one who knew anything about his new ‘condition’.

“Your vulnerability to the sun light will fade,” Lilith assured him. “You just have to give it time.”

“It’s hard to do business when I can’t go out in the daytime.”

“Sheesh, you’re a workaholic. Just don’t overdo it. The changes are still going through their cycles. It isn’t instantaneous. You might want to tell your family, though. I mean, not to be rude, but you’re pasty as hell and the fangs? They show, trust me.”

Meanwhile, Lauren was frustrated. She had been trying to teach Claude to talk for awhile now with no success. She knew that he wanted to see Gordon, but that wasn’t possible right now. He wasn’t home. She sighed and took a break. Leaving her in a house with three children? Not cool.

Of course, Elena was enjoying her freedom. Gordon probably would not have taken a particular liking to the fact that she had Fou-Lu Yu in her room. She wasn’t untrustworthy, but everyone knew that teenage hormones turned good-natured children into beasts from hell.

Elena wasn’t sure why she liked Fou-Lu. They had been friends forever, but he was a little too lazy and carefree for Elena’s usual tastes. So why did she feel the way she did? It didn’t make any rational sense.

He had his moments, though. He would play her violin while she worked on backlogged homework. He was better than her, music was a natural talent with the Yu family. Fou-Lu’s own uncle Shang is a rock musician and Tsung had dabbled a bit in the violin professionally. She wasn’t envious, though. It calmed her and helped her get through the work quicker.

For being so driven to succeed, Elena sure did end up falling behind on a lot of things.

Gordon popped up at night, nearly scaring Tracey to death. The change in him was immediately noticeable, dark tan skin suddenly pasty white and the way he moved was completely unnatural. He explained to her his plan quickly as he could, as he could see she was ready to pass out.

“It just doesn’t make any logical sense to me,” Lauren lamented, unable to wrap her mind around what exactly Gordon was plotting. “How does not being able to see your family during the day help?”

“That will change with time,” Gordon said, completely confident. “Don’t question my plans, Lauren. I warned you before you even started talking about marriage.”

Lauren sighed, “I know, it’s just… I can’t understand how you could ever want to outlive your children.”

“Perhaps not… which is why it is better we stick to things we have a common understanding in.” He said suggestively.

Michael’s birthday came soon after and as he grew up, they realized that there were hints of Tracey there. Especially with his proclaimed desire to have a family. Michael was quiet still, that didn’t change at all, but he was more jovial when he spoke. After Gordon had revealed himself, Michael wasn’t sure what to think or what to say. A vampire? He hadn’t even thought they were real until that moment.

He and Elena managed to work through their own confusion together. They were more like siblings than most siblings with their close bond and eerie understanding.

Claude was very similar Michael, except where Michael was shy, Claude was the most friendly and talkative person you could ever hope to meet. He was also intensely curious. He constantly followed Gordon around, asking him questions. While Gordon wanted to be annoyed, he couldn’t. Claude was still a child and his questions were harmless. He entertained them until Claude got bored and wandered off.

Lord Snow and Princess had three puppies; Rob, Sansa, and Arya. While they remained in the basement, they definitely made the house more lively. Gordon made sure that no one got attached to the puppies, as they would leaving as soon as they were old enough. It was up to them to find good homes for them. Claude wasn’t pleased with this, he enjoyed running around and chasing the hyperactive puppies.

Note from Mao: Yay, my first litter of puppies in this hood! And yes, Gordon is a Vampire, now referred to as ‘Vampire Gordon’ anytime I talk to my fiance or Christina on Xfire. Mostly because Vampire Gordon insists of visiting all my community lots with his vampire buddies and trying to get protection money, LOL! That or he’s meeting Roman Anderson in shady places. My sims are so strange.

Davis – Round 16: ‘Dearly Departed, End’

Gordon has relocated to the house he gave Lauren, along with his son, Michael. With Elena already firmly rooted in the belief that Gordon didn’t have another wife or an actual son, can this family get along and adjust?

Gordon had finally finished setting up the basement as was needed for his ‘job’. To be honest, the relocation couldn’t have worked out better. Living in Aperture was the best thing he could have done, as now he was able to keep an eye on his people at all times… and they certainly needed it. A few were getting lax, some were murmuring, and others, well. Let’s just say Gordon wasn’t taking any chances. Unfortunately, his biggest battle of the day would be Lauren’s own ambitions.

“I just thought that maybe you’d want the baby to have your last name,” Lauren was curbing her own aggressiveness in favor of a more subtle approach.

Gordon sighed, “I just got divorced, Lauren. The last thing on my mind is getting re-married.”

“Yes, but I know you’re a criminal and I don’t care.” She began desperately, squeezing his hand. “And I’m risen from the dead, for goodness sakes! If anything, we’ve both got something to hide and we both know what that is. What problem could there be?”

Gordon relented, standing up from the couch and sighing again, “fine, fine. But it’ll be quick and quiet. You’ll have to get the rings yourself, I’m not going through that again. What do I know about jewelry? I already had Tracey’s pawned off for some jobs I’m planning.”

Despite his lackluster response, Lauren was jubilant. She nearly bowled him over, leaping into is arms–she’s quite agile, even when pregnant–and hugging him tightly. Suddenly a thought came to mind and she pulled back, her features inquistive.

“Is there a budget on my rings?”

“No.”

She leapt at him again, “yay!”

Elena wasn’t quite sure what to think about having a brother, or better yet, that Gordon had a child of his own. At first, she was angry. Gordon was supposed to be her father and hers only, but then… she met Michael. She waited for him to get off the bus. He was younger than her and unlike her, he looked exactly like Gordon.

Michael hadn’t had any preconceived notions about Elena. In fact, he still wasn’t sure what to think about his dad seemingly having a second family. He knew Elena wasn’t really his sister, but he wasn’t about to say anything about it, either. She looked an awful lot like his ‘Aunt’ Sara.

Being newly remarried did not hamper Gordon’s plans any. Lilith came to the house, late at night, and met with him on the porch. While she didn’t enjoy working with a criminal, she had to admit, it was nice to have someone interested in her work as opposed to berating it. Tsung would never understand, so she hadn’t made it a point to tell him and neither had Gordon.

“I have the information,” Lilith began, hesitance lingering in her voice. “But… I need more time. This isn’t something you just do, Gordon. They’ve been hiding for millenia. It’s going to take some work.”

“As long as it is in progress, that’s all that matters.”

“I’ll let you know when I’ve made contact.”

“Good, let’s hope it doesn’t take until the end our lives.”

“Ha! You’ve never seen me work,” Lilith boasted, eyes shining. “I’d make your two-bit lackeys beg for mercy in a heartbeat. Just watch and see, Gordon. I never fail.”

Unknowing of her new husband’s plans, Lauren gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Claude. He had all the same features as Michael, except his hair was brown, like Gordon’s. Lauren was happy to have another boy of her own, though she was fast considering Michael to be the same. He didn’t look anything like Tracey. In fact, he looked and acted like a copy of Gordon. Sometimes it was disturbing, but most of the time, it was charming and cute.

Saunders 2 – Round 16: ‘Message in a Bottle, End’

Now that Tracey has found out about Gordon, what will happen? Poor little Michael is going to be very confused.

Tracey sat on the couch, trying to focus on the paper. Everytime she saw a police report, she couldn’t help but wonder as to what Gordon’s involvement was. She hadn’t meant to find out, but when she pulled the wrong book from the bookcase and it slid aside, her curiosity demanded she search deeper. It was there she found the secret basement, the little ‘room’, everything. She was horrified.

The only thing left to do was… well, Tracey wasn’t sure about it anymore. She was starting to get a little scared.

Of course that fear dissipated when Gordon walked through the door. He had been off in Aperture, working on ‘business’ again. Tracey knew that was a lie, his business was criminal and that’s what he’d been doing.

“Someone has been nosing around,” Gordon said, his voice calm and completely the opposite of Tracey’s frenzied tone. “What are you going to do about it, Tracey? Tell your cop boyfriend?”

“What?” She hissed, trying to push back the sudden rush of embarassment. How… how did he know about that?

“Don’t look so surprised, it makes your nose look crooked,” he said, leaning forward, grinning. In his hands, he held a document. “And this? That’s cute, real cute.”

“Where did you get that?!” It was the evidence she’d gathered from his room beneath the house. She had turned it directly into the police. “You criminal!”

“Ah, ah… clever criminal, Tracey. The police department is mine. Remember that Ryu isn’t a cop, he’s an agent. I can’t claim to have anything on the federal bureau… but when there’s no evidence, why should I worry?”

Tracey narrowed her eyes, “there’s me! I’ll testify!”

“No, you won’t,” Gordon replied, the charm gone from his voice. “I don’t necessarily care that he slept with you… we Saunders men have an indirect way of passing our wives around. No, it’s simply the fact you thought you could get away with it. You’re wrong, Tracey, wrong. You’ll get your divorce… but Michael is mine.”

“I have a reputation to uphold. You can have the house, I’ll give you that much, but everything else is mine. I hope you have some savings, Tracey… or you may just have to sell and move back to those dear islands you so love.”

Tracey walked away from him, trying to restrain her sobs, “y-you can’t take him–”

“I can and I am,” Gordon’s voice was cold as ice. “I have evidence, Tracey. Evidence of adultery. I can take anything I want. Michael is mine and I suggest you say your goodbyes. We’re leaving as soon as my driver arrives.”

“This isn’t right, Gordon!” She wailed into her hands, unable to look up. “He needs a mother!”

“A mother, perhaps… but you? No. Be glad I’m letting you live, Tracey. Be thankful. And remember what I said, should you ever find yourself even thinking of walking into a courthouse.”

Tracey wasted no time. She quickly wiped away her tears and ran into Michael’s room. He was packing his things into a suitcase and the image of such a thing was monstrous to Tracey. She yanked him away and into her arms, hugging him tightly and sobbing.

“Mommy loves you, Michael. Always remember that. I didn’t mean for it to be this way.”

“It’s all right, mom,” Michael said in that same calm voice that Gordon had. “I know.”

“I will see you again, I promise I will. Somehow.”

Michael said nothing. He gave his mother a soft, hesitant smile and picked up his bag. Tracey watched as he left through the door, joining Gordon who had several men moving things out of the house at a rapid pace.
